Lee Corso, I was thinking the same thing about the matchup with RE or Mitchell. I have seen RE play but I havent seen Mitchell. From what I hear about Mitchell, if you have to pick your poison you almost want to play RE. That even sounds crazy to me to say. I hear that Mitchell is very big and athletic and shoots the ball well. I dont know what I want to see Haywood do tonite.

I was just told that Raleigh Egypt hit a buzzer beater again tonite to beat Mitchell. Was told they won by 1 point.

Fayette Ware is in the top half of the bracket. They play Ripley in the semis. Haywood is in the bottom half and play Covington. These games are a rematch of the semifinals last week in the district tournament. Should be a rematch of the championship game. We have played Fayette Ware for the District and Regional championship I dont know how many years in a row. Raleigh Egypt and Mitchell's coaches were at the game tonite.

OVERRATED!!!!! People on here had so much confidence in Union City. How did you ever expect them to go far with no size? They return basically the same team that they have had for the past three years and just because they run the table on a weak district everyone thinks they were Boro bound. Haywood ended their season for them three straight years in blowout games but this was their year? 14AA swept the Regional. Covington beat Westview in the nightcap.

A whole lot of good basketball going on in Haywood County. Congrats to the Girls for clinching the district. Congrats to the Boys for finishing 23-3 on the regular season. Last time they lost was over a month ago. They completely dominated Fayette Ware for the second straight time this season. Final score 79-41. So far they have been HEAD AND SHOULDERS above anyone in the district. Waiting on the district tourney.

I think anyone would rather go to Pulaski than Memphis. At least that game is in a high school gym. You go to Memphis you play in the Pyramid. I think that idea stinks I dont know the purpose for that.

So in a way you agree with me? To get to Murfreesboro out of our matchups is tougher than Bolivar's route?

I think they can get out of the region because they only have to worry about Haywood and Fayette Ware. I think that they beat Fayette Ware earlier this season. If they come in first and Haywood does too they wont be in the same bracket. I think it will be tough for them to make it far because of their size. There are a lot of size matchups for them before the get to Murfreesboro. Hosting a substate game might help them get to Murfreesboro, but that will be hard if they have to face the Tomcats for the region championship.

Thanks for agreeing. I think its a shame there are soooo many good teams in this group that won't get that chance in Murfreesboro. They are going to play each other and someone will be left at home.

Im loving the AA poll this week. It seems to be getting better to me. Being that Haywood is up to #3 at 22-3 I really like it. Haywood plays in one of the hardest regions in the state in AA. We have Union City in the same region and they are #2 in the state. The loser of that region championship game could have to go to Memphis to play Raleigh Egypt for a substate game. They are #1 in the state. Can any other region and substate say they have to face this type of competition just to get to Murfreesboro. I think not. Also, the winner of the region championship game could be rewarded with a game against Mitchell who is #7 and has a 20-3 record. They have Thaddeus Young who people say has NBA skills. NO CAKE WALK HUH!!! Raleigh Egypt, Union City, Haywood and Mitchell have a combined record of 88-9. They are ranked #1, #2, #3, and #7. Bolivar, Liberty, and Lexington who are ranked 6, 8, 10 are 66-13 but everyone on here always complains that Lexington plays a cupcake schedule. I think regions 7 and 8AA is one of the toughest in the state. You have to get through some of the best teams AND Memphis just to get to the 'Boro.

He shot the ball well again last nite. He was knocked down still hitting threes. Guys were running at him he was still draining them. He shot one from about 5 feet behind the line from the top of the key with a man on him got fouled but no call and still made it.

Both twins played in that game. I was at the game.

Here we go with this mess again. Everytime Haywood steps up to the plate and beats a team that everyone feels is legit, something happened. I knew I would hear about Richard not playing, but I didnt think I would hear mess about the officiating. Reginald Delk pushed off all nite long they refused to call it. He took three steps to the basket a lot. He shot more free throws than anyone in the game. The Tomcats evened the game up when the refs called the tech. ITS JUST A SHAME THAT EVERYTIME A TEAM PLAYS WELL AND WINS YOU HEAR MESS ABOUT THE OFFICIATING. EVEN FROM GOMAB!!! YOU SAID ONE THING RIGHT BOTH TEAMS ARE GREAT. JUST GIVE THE CREDIT AND DONT BLAME THE OFFICIALS. One of them didnt blow his whistle all nite long I dont think. So he couldnt have called it for one team or the other. And you were shocked huh gomab, I dont know why they beat them by 10 in Jackson with both of the twins!!!

I didnt say you said it was a fluke. Other people have said this time and time again that the big games we win were flukes. We took care of business tonite and came out with the victory 71-59. I dont want to hear anything about Richard not playing. We beat the team they put on the floor. And for the record, the Tomcats havent counted either the win or the loss. It seems as some one has pinned the loss on us and didnt give us the win. Our official record the team has is 20-3. I wish coacht would correct this. Also the AP poll listed us with 4 losses and didnt count the win in that either.

When you lose it is a loss. I get tired of people saying that somebody beat someone else on a fluke. There are no flukes, if a team was better than your team on a given night thats just it you LOST. Everytime a higher rated team loses to another team it was a fluke. You say it was a fluke that Fayette Ware beat Bolivar. Nah they came in your gym and beat you. They were the better team that night. We turned around and went in their gym and DESTROYED them by 20. Was that a fluke because beat Bolivar and we didnt? No it wasn't the better team won that night. The first time Northside and Haywood played was right after football season. You know that 3 of our starters are starter on the football team. When they got in the groove what happened? We went into Jackson and beat them by double digits. It will be a good game tonight. I am not saying who will win, but if Haywood wins again will it be a FLUKE? You don't get to be number 5 in the state on flukes alone. Also, why is coacht counting the loss in the Hall of Fame games but not counting the win? The team didnt count either in the record.

Where you get that info from? It wasnt in the newspaper like that. Only said he was held scoreless which they wouldnt say if he got hurt.

I was reading www.jacksonsun.com and I saw that Bolivar played South Side last nite. When I was reading the box scores I noticed that I didnt see Willie Kemp's name mentioned. I thought maybe he was sick or didnt play. I then went on to read about the game and it says he was held scoreless. Can someone PLEASE tell me how this happened? I know that a Mr. Basketball candidate cant play a whole game and not score.

btown, Liggins and Varnardo will be back next year. They are only juniors. Haywood is losing three starters that are seniors. But there is some young talent that is coming up also. There are some freshmen boys that are already dressing with the varsity. They are on a freshman team that is currently undefeated. Haywood also returns a few sophmores so I think they will be heard from again after this year.

Gomab I must agree with you that AA basketball in West TN and Memphis is the real deal right now. I know there are some good teams out there in AAA, but West TN AA is good basketball to watch. I guess the fact there are a lot of large schools in Nashville and surrounding areas makes AAA basketball big in Middle Tennessee. I dont get a chance to see A basketball much so I cant make a judgement on that. I know there are more people out here with an opinion so please express it.

Which classification do you guys think has the most competive basketball? Or do you think all of the classifications are equal? Don't be biased by what school you like or represent just tell which class you think has the best basketball and why?

I think that the people that play in region 7AA have the hardest road to Murfreesboro. Not taking anything away from what other regions have to go through, but look at who the winners and losers from this region has to face. You are talking about the possibility of winning the region chamionship and your reward is facing Mitchell or Raleigh Egypt. That is no cake walk I dont care how you look at it.
