My son has graduated and moved on. But i still know baseball. Simmons knows baseball, having played for Lee and asst. there also. I would have loved for my son to have played for him. Good luck Coach, and good luck INDIANS

First of all congragulations Marion, Especially Lucas, I was hoping you were going to get tired, but you are the man. As far as bunting the the number three hitter, we bunted three and four in our win at Hixson. Its high school, you do not have Jeter and A Rod hitting 3 and 4. Our team has hit and played better this year. I thank Coach Robinson and Coach Mullins for putting in the time and working with our boys. I am proud of the Indians.

I did not think the boys acted that bad, it was a big win, in a big game, against a good team. I know Red Bank has some guns but could not throw them for whatever reason, but it was a nail biter and Seq. won. We have played them twice and won one and tied at zero. Sorry our boys did not roll over and give up. New coaches, new attitude.

Marion county and Hixson are still the teams to beat in this district. I think Sequatchie will be a player this year. We have a big time schedule this year, a lot depends on how the boys come through it. I believe in our coaches and our boys but we will see shortly. Good luck Marion, hope you go 30 and 2. The young ladies of Meigs played a very smart and well executed game. They won the game on the court and I congragulate them and wish them the best of luck! I also want to say I am proud of our Lady Indians, the adversity they went through this year was really tough, but they came thru it stronger than ever. My daughter played on this TEAM, a team, who loved and believed in one another. The coaches were great in getting the girls to come together and play hard. I wish we were still playing but when I am an old man I will remember this season and this team, with nothing but pride. Thank you Coach Barker and Coach Dennis and most of all thank you Lady Indians

As a Sequatchie County Dad, I hope we can play up to our potential this year. I also know that to be the man you got to beat the man! Marion will be very good, you never count out a scrappy Grundy team, Hixson has been very good for a while, not sure about CCS, do not see them enough to know. Unless Notre Dame was holding back this weekend they looked very young in the two games i watched. I know our coaches and the boys are working hard, and we have played even with Marion with this age group. This district will be a dog fight this year, no clear cut favorite.

I agree, the Lady Indians played great. They overcame not one but two major problems, the girls that quit was bad, but when Rachel went down was terrible. Coach Barker and Coach Dennis kept this group of girls together. I am very proud to have a girl on this team. Way to go girls!

As a parent of one of the girls, I want to say how proud I am of our team. You girls played great all year under a lot of pressure. To the SR. girls, way to hang in there and put your hearts into every game. To the underclassmen, way to step up. To coach Barker and Coach Dennis, I thank you for teaching my daughter discipline, teamwork, and work ethic. I would not want anyone else coaching my daughter. Way to go girls!

I have to agree that Marion has lost a lot of very good ball players the last two years. but they return some very good players as well, my son has played with and around those boys since coach pitch and they are all fine players. I do believe that Seq. should have a better season this year in the district, and would love to see them beat Marion. I know Marion has at least two proven pitchers, we will need some of our older boys to step up on the mound.

Who looked ready for the season to start. I was at the Seq. Central game. Came away very impressed with Centrals shortstop and catcher. A very enjoyable scrimmage to watch. I was also very happy with the effort and attitude of Seq. all weekend.

Sequatchie County needs a baseball coach. Coach Basham has moved on. Any one hear who might get this job.

The Sequatchie valley has middle school teams at all schools. Sequatchie middle is the defending champs of the conference.They won the title at Jasper last year. I look for Sequatchie to be in the mix again.

Seq. has 1 senior, 5 sophs, and 5 fresh. Very young team, but coach Bartley is working hard. Grundy co. and Hixson handled the very easy but better times are coming.

We have heard that coach Bartley may be gone. I hope it is not true. As far as not having any players I cant figure out why the kids are not playing. I played in the mid 80s on a sorry field with no fans and asst. football coaches leading the show. I wish he would hold out for a few years, we have 21 kids in the middle school team.
