  1. No, they beat Pickett by 11. They were ranked #1 and #2 at the time. How many do they have to beat opponents by, 20+? Pickett is a pretty good team. I think Temple felt really good about that double digit win. And actually Grace has played Temple better than anyone all year, I think they're focusing on that game before looking way down the road (Assuming Grace beats CCS).
  2. I think the head to head mathup between Skogen and Bailey is what hurt Bailey. If you were at the game you would understand. Skogen outscored and outperformed Bailey in almost every way. This was a big game too, because Temple was ranked #1 and Pickett was ranked #2. I think Bailey would be there if there were 5 nominees. But this loss against another team with a Mr. Basketball candidate pushed him out of contention, in my opinion.
  3. I thought this might have been a decent game since Chattanooga-Creative Arts beat Lookout Valley and Valley usually hangs around with Temple for at least 3 quarters. Oh well, Just wondering what the Temple players stats were and if they've improved on their free throw shooting. How is Caleb's hamstring? Also any other tidbits about the game. Thanks.
  4. Yeah I said the game didn't matter. I was talking about the fouls on Caleb and Mouw. I would have commented on this the day it happened but I've been out sick all week. Plus I thought Josh Smith deserves some sort of recognition for a great game that he had.
  5. I know this game wasn't much of a game. Did anyone actually go? I was there and saw a couple of plays that looked like they were trying to hurt people. Caleb went up for a layup and someone clocked him in the head, and the ball was nowhere near his head. It was a hard blow to the head. He was visibly upset and was saying something to the guy pretty angrily. Then on another play a guy undercut Mouw when he was going up for a rebound. When Mouw got in the air he rammed his butt into Zach's legs and flipped him. These could have been accidents but it really didn't look that way. And what about Josh Smith's performance? Wow! How many points did he score? He had some sharp moves downlow and was hustling for every rebound. He had a quick spin move. I was impressed.
  6. And, I thought it was Seth Wadley all this time.
  7. That's only because we have to keep correcting the lies about Bailey being in foul trouble against Temple.
  8. Don't forget that win over Pickett, that was a big one as well.
  9. It would be really nice if it was held at McGilvary. That stinks it's all the way out in Sale Creek, ugh.
  10. I remember reading somewhere(ESPN I think) that Mercer's point guard is leading the NCAA in assists. Or maybe it was assist average. I hope Caleb gets some playing time. But that guy is a Junior this year, so maybe Caleb takes over his sophomore year.
  11. That will be something to watch, them two playing together at Mercer. I will have to try to make it to a game or two.
  12. Well you've got a second chance to show us some highlight material. Maybe I'll even capture it on film this time.
  13. I think LV will get up for the game since no one is giving them a chance. And it's The game is at their place and it's senior night, like someone else said, so the fans will get up for it as well. They will fight hard but I just think Temple will be too much for them and they don't have an answer for Caleb(not like anyone else does either). Temple won't overlook them, they know how tough LV can be. I say Temple by 15+. I think if LV can adjust to Temple's press and make better use of their big man then they can make it a close game.
  14. They do now. I think it just caught them offguard. Maybe they had not practiced to play against one, I dunno. And if they did practice against it, it's still different than seeing it for the first time in a real game situation.
  15. Also I had to mention that the homecoming game was the first time that Temple had seen a zone defense. It won't catch them off guard this time. nastyfro- here's a link to an article on the last meeting: Temple vs. Lookout Valley first meeting
  16. I don't think so, Hawk almost had one though. oh yeah I remember, Hawk fouled him twice keeping him from dunking on him.
  17. In their last meeting the game was kinda close until Temple starting pressing.
  18. Their team page says their record is 17-10. LV is a good team. But after beating Pickett and Ooletwah I think Temple has gained even more confidence and experience. I also noticed that Lookout Valley doesn't have any pictures of their players up. I just got a new camera and plan on trying it out at the game. I'll try to get a pic of Hawk to put up on their site.
  19. Yeah, I was going to mention that picture as well. I also don't think the comparisons to Jake are really fair. I know why everyone tries to make them. But Caleb is a different player. I find Caleb to be the most enjoyable player to watch. I love to see his cross people over, then drive to the hoop and spin and either dish it or dunk it. I'm still impressed by the play against Pickett where he split 3 defenders at half court with a left handed dribble and drove the lane and did that twirl around the back pass to Mouw for a layup.
  20. The paper said that Brandon Brown led Ooltewah in scoring with 21 but also had 9 turnovers. Was Temple running their press? If not, what happened?
  21. It kills me that I had to miss this game. I almost called in sick to see it. Great job Temple!
  22. What does the point margin have to be? And how late in the 4th quarter do put the subs in, assuming the winning team pulls the starters out first?
