The Lady Belles would love to have her come and try-out for the team. Please call coach bonner or coach ferrell after 3:00 today and they will give you all the information you need for saturday. They would also like to discuss with you about some practice games with your other team. Is this team a 12u team?

This is just try-outs for the 12u team to see if there is any players to add to this team. The team will not start practicing until their seasons with middle schools are over. Laquinta will still be with this team. She is doing great and getting taller. The lady Belles wanted to do the try-outs early so that they can start practicing with their 10u team. We don't have any competitve sports in our elementary schools so this will not conflict with anything.

If you could call coach Ferrell he can give you all the information you need. You can reach him at that number after 3:00 and before 9:00.

Robpride, you are absolutely right. Dawn has done a great job with those girls. I watched them play in the sub-state against the Lady Belles and even though they lost they played exceptionally well. They seem to play everyone close but just can't quite pull it out in the end. I know that has to be frustrating to them but they will eventually start winning those close ones. So how good is the Louisville jags? I have never heard of them.

Thanks for the info spree, it sounds like there were a few good battles with the teams from Georgia. Either they are not as strong as last year, or the top gus are getting stronger as they go. I thought they would be tough toward tournament time. It's going to be a great state tournament. Thanks again for the info and I will definately put that date on my calendar.

Does anyone have any information on the outcome of the tournament in Jefferson City this weekend. I know there was some great talent there and I was curious on the results.

My predictions are: 1) KGC - Defending Champs. But this will be one of the toughest challenges to repeat. 2) Lady Belles - Have really improved their team as a whole and they have number 3. 3) Memphis Waves - Very strong and balanced and should finish out the top three. 4) Top Guns - Could be the sleeper team of the tournament. I am very impressed with their play this year. Good luck to all the teams and I can't wait to sit back and watch the fun.

I agree with you showtime. I saw the girl from the Belles last year in nashville playing in a tournament with her sisters team. They are 15u and she scored 12 for the game and she was only ten then. There just aren't too many players out there like her.

My issue is with the word exceptional. They have a good team and I stated that but I do not see their team as exceptional. If someone calls it like they see it then they have issues with that team. I guess I could say that you have issues with KGC by not calling them exceptional even though they beat the Waves and the Belles by double digits and won the state. My Issue is with the word exceptional and that is all. I believe the waves have a wonderful program and the program as a whole has had some dominant teams. It is very difficult to make it to the nationals and they seem to go more than most. But they were called an exceptional team and the team that actually won the state was not. KGC was the best team in the state last year and I feel they need to get that recognition.

I agree with you dizzle that just because you have had a dominant program that doesn't make every team you have a great team. Just look at team pride. Also the lady belles had one player last year and Memphis had trouble with them. A great team would not have had trouble against one player I don't care how great she is. KGC didn't have any problems with her. I am not trying to bash memphis, I just don't see them as an exceptional team. They weren't that dominant until they picked up those players for the nationals. Unless they have kept those players they picked up then I don't see them being that dominant this year. They will finish in the top three but I don't think they will dominate. As far as the super regional goes I didn't see much talent there except for top guns which the Lady belles beat by 15 last year in the sub-state.... with one player.

I saw that tournament that they played in for the 12u and they played very well without her. The additions they have made are great. They looked like a totally different team. The games they played were close but one and I heard that they even one the last game that they played by about ten. When they get #3 back from her injury then they will be very tough to beat. I also have been reading some of the other post about the girl from memphis. I have not seen her yet but I would find it hard to believe that there is another player out there that is 11 that has the ability of #3 from the belles.
