  1. Not to be rude, but I disagree, on all counts. Hannah is getting better but I wouldnt say she is a standout. Of course, we will just have to wait and see who performs this summer.
  2. Of Riley , Cat and Thomas, I would say probably Thomas is the fastest. Notice I didnt say the best. I dont doubt Cat and Riley both can throw up to 62 or 63. But, you guys should know it's not all about speed. Fastballs get hit hard. It is all about controlling where the ball goes and being able to make it move. It is about being able to change speeds. It is able being able to keep your head in the game. The best pitcher is determined by so many factors other than just speed.
  3. Other girls that probably need to be mentioned in the top of the state should be Michelle McWhorter out of West Tennessee, and I dont know who the 16U Frost Falcon Pitcher is but she took her team to the top 5 in Colorado this summer, so she has got to be good. Other than that I think you have it covered. I hope you know that now that you have listed all these pitchers that have proven themselves on the "A" level travel circuit, we are now going to hear from parents whose darling daughter or grandaughter who pitches that is surely MUCH BETTER and faster than these girls even though they play "B" ball and nobody has ever seen them win at any top level tournament. Never the less, I am sure there are good ones still out there not mentioned yet, so come on folks who are they and what have they done?
  4. Question? Who are the pitchers for Soddy Daisy? What travel teams do they pitch for? Anybody know? I know they are pretty good. Is one of them Stacy fairbanks or does she play somewhere else? This is a good question for " youwillneverno"
  5. Good team , yes. One of the best , no. All teams can have a great day. Terry is a good coach and they play with a lot of heart but I still do not think they will be the best.
  6. My Opinion on Top Tennessee teams: Soddy Daisy Brentwood Riverdale Goodpasture
  7. There are going to be several tough AAA teams next year. Soddy doesnt have anything won yet. Look at West Wilson they are young, also look at Riverdale. I am sure I might be missing another freshman and sophmore dominated team.
  8. Does anybody else get a little agitated about topics being "MOVED"? Where exactly do they move to and for what purpose? Why are some moved and others about the same topic not moved? This is ridiculous.
  9. Does anybody know any details about the 16U and 18U bracket? Who were the top teams? Who was there? How did the tournament finish?
  10. I dont know what team you are talking about. I know the Edge has never been beaten by any of the 16U teams there. You are right both the 14U teams and 16U teams both probably had girls not there and some out of position. It does make a difference. It is kind of par for the course at this time of the year.
  11. Softball Observer the topic is about teams playing in 16U and 18U tournaments. Nobody said your teams were not good, they just do not ever play in the 16U or 18U bracket.
  12. Local teams playing in the 16U brackets that will be good will be the the 16U Nighthawks, the 16U Xtreme Edge, 14U Nighthawks, 14U Xplosion, and 14U Xtreme Edge, 14U Austin Eagles, 16U West Tennessee Diamonds, 16U Wildthings. I am sure there are other good teams out there but I know these teams will be good because they have dominating pitchers. Of course it does take more than pitching to win ball games. Look for the top four 14U teams in the state to appear in local 16UA tournaments and be very tough to get past. Two of these teams just placed first and second in a 16U tournament this past weekend going undefeated until the championship game. They easily hit some of the pitchers that did very, very well in high school ball. Of the top 16U teams you might see them appear in local 18U tournaments and do very well also. I am probably leaving out some top 16U teams , I just havent seen these teams play yet.
  13. Sorry, I stand corrected. What I meant was to pitch that well and still get beat on an error. I shouldnt have used the word perfect; I should have used the words almost perfect.
  14. Since we are hearing no reply from the " Hunters Lane Fan Club" that seems to hang out on this board my guess is that Hunters Lane lost.
  15. So basically Coffee county won on an error. As I have said before, anything can happen in this sport. Any team can beat any other team on a given day. My heart goes out to Falon. To pitch a perfect game and still lose. Sorry Riverdale girls, I know your heart was in this game. Coffee County , you wanted this game worse than any other game this season and you got it. Good job.
  16. Who pitched for Page?
  17. Who pitched? Give us details.
  18. In Rutherford county they have an end of the season county tournament and that is it. I think this year Central is hosting an invitational that invites all the teams they played this year but that is not a district either. It is just an invitational.
  19. Lets set the record straight. There are King, Hosfield, Pinnell, and Smith that have played with the Edge since they were Thundercats. The Thundercats became the Edge during 12U ball. Lott, Erine, and Leslie came on the team the first year they were Edge when the Wizards merged with the team. Thats a core group that has played together since they were 12U. The Austin Eagles played their first year together as a second year 12U team.
  20. You should be sorry for using the word abandoned. Raider 1 had to make some tough choices. He did not abandon anybody. He did more for Manchester softball and those girls than anybody. People move on , things change. Coaches change. It does not mean he abandoned them. Terry Floyd coached along side of him in summer ball for years. Manchester still has one of their coaches. I know they miss Raider1, he is one of the top high school coaches in the country. If Manchester is this heart broken they shouldnt have let him go in the first place.
  21. Who is pitching for Blackman next year?
  22. The same core of girls on the Edge have been together since thier Thundercat days back in 1998. There have been a few additions , but they have been additions to strenthen the team beyond what they were last year. To grow sometimes you have to make a few additions and a few cuts. The Edge has added one major addition which is former MTSU coach and stratagist Ernie Reynolds. I think he will bring a greater edge they did not have last year over other teams.
  23. Come on guys , it was a joke. nobody can throw 76. It just seems that when somebody is asking who has got the heat you get a lot of crap about this kid and that kid throwing these incredible speeds and having these amazing numbers of pitches. I had a mother of a 11 year old tell me that HER child had NINE , I say NINE different pitches and that she was throwing 55. I shot her speed at 46 and 47 and I couldnt tell one pitch from another. All had the same spin. There are talented pitchers around. I saw one young lady on the Club K speed board that was throwing about 66, but I dont remember who it was. I do believe Amber Steen probably is about 65, but I cannot verify that.
