I believe they hav e a big girl about 6'2" that is just a Freshman. She had knee surgery and may be just starting to come back. Anyone seen her play?

Are they improved this year? Their record is better and they almost beat a GP team that is supposed to be strong. Has anyone seen them play that would know?

Once again please refer to my previous post, only you Pigeon guys were touting Rutledge.

I tried to tell everyone that Rutledge would struggle to replace Hudson and Reischling this year, but no one would listen. Both of those guys are playing college ball, and you don't just stick anyone in to replace guys like that. They took all of the pressure off of McBee and Horsley. I think the only people that were pushing Rutledge as a contender were the Pigeon Forge people on here. They were doing that to try and deflect the spotlight from them. As I have previously stated on here PF is the favorite and will probably not lose in the district. I do believe that Rutledge will improve, but right now they have no chemistry.

Grsports63, If you have a problem with the way the coach is doing things then you should talk to him and not get on these boards and run him down. I don't think that you should include the assistants in the converstion either. the head coach is responsible for the program. Your team is doing well so far this year and your daughter is playing well. It is not a year round sport and the coaches spend more time with your kids than they do their own during the season and I will be gald when the new TSSAA restrictions go into effect regarding preseason practice and AAU. Then maybe kids will start practing shooting and fundamentals on their own rather traveling across the country to participate in games in which they will be lucky to attempt 5 shots. They would benefit much more by shootong 300 shots a day at home.

i didn't see where anyone predicted that Rutledge would win. Pf is the clear favorite to win the district and anything less would be underachieving for a team that returns as much experience as they do. I would be suprised if they lost a game in the district this year.

There must be a lot of good jobs in Bradley for all of these families to uproot and move there. I wonder if you can't make a 5-22 team how well you would fit in at any of the schools mentioned in this thread. Good Luck in your decision!

Snowman, We'll see about what? I'm not saying that Rutledge is a powerhouse or anything like that. I was just saying that they shoiuld have good guard play and that they like to run. Cherokee being a AAA scholl should beat Rutledge just as they did last year I believe. The scrimmage will only help Rutledge by playing against a stronger AAA team like Cherokee. Probably will not benefit Cherokee much to beat up on a little AA team.

From what I hear Rutledge has only one player with height and he is a senior. I know that we are definitely closer to Jeff. County. But I believe that you have to change your residence in order to be eligible don't you. Alos we will have a brand new school and a beautiful new gym when JCHSBaller55 is a senior. Think about it. Rutledge has some great guards to play with and from what I hear they really get up and down the floor.

Last season means nothing this year Kev. I watched the game and Claiborne is clearly better this year. Helton is much better than he was last year!

KevB, Claiborne is just a better team than Rutledge. Helton is a stud, Rutledge has nobody even close to him. Liles and Holt are very good palyers also. They are simply better this year.

Not all of those Seniors played. They have only 2 starters returning but the other guys played plenty of minutes because PF went 10 or 11 deep. PF is and should be the favorites again along with Claiborne. Harper is back this year, but you should know that.

How can Pf not be the favorite with all that they have returning from last years Sub State team. Give me a break with the poor mouthing of PF, you must be the Coach. It would also be a shame if Claiborne is not competitive with them this year, Estes should dominate! Rutledge will not be able to replace Hudson and Reischling in my opinion. 1. PF 2. Claiborne 3. Matt Day hit the shot that night to beat Pigeon! Guys there are great fans at each of these schools and unfortunately we all have the ones who take it far to seriously. As has already been said we should not characterize an entire community by the actions of a few. Coach Harper is a good guy and a good coach, and KevB loves his Pioneers. Let's all get along.

Rutledge and Pigeon forge are tied for 1st palce in 2AA. They have split with each other this year. Rutledge is 15-4 (8-1 District). Don't count them out.

Pigeon will roll big time!

Gomab, I heard that Skylar Mcbee from Rutledge was supposed to be at the Showcase. Was he there, and what did you think of him if he was?

Calm down Greenedevilmom, that is the score that was in the Knoxville paper. 13-5 or 10-5 it was still a win. Errors are part of the game and the paper also said that Rutledge had 4 errrors and that Greenville had only 1. That may be inaccurate also though since the score was.

Rutledge beat Greenville 13-5, they are now 2-1 on the season, and 2-0 against the IMAC.

Let's all remember that this thread is about Rutledge and not Carter. Hornet has little if anything left that he can say. Let's keep our comments about the Pioneers and he will go away. He can talk to himself about the Hornets because nobody else wants to talk about them. It is really funny that he will not respond to anything about their pathetic record this year, but he really has high expectations for Rutledge. Maybe he should focus his expectations on the Hornets and possibly they could win a game in the tournament one of these years. Thanks for your concern Hornet, but we don't need it.
