I'm sure the new coach would love to see his kids against some different competition. It's not like he can't tell them what to do in the huddle. It's spring for crying out loud.

"They" would be the coaches and should know. "They" are with him every day. Lol.

Yes, that's him. He plays DE and QB. . . He is probably better at DE right now but has a lot of potential on both sides I have heard. They say he works hard and is smart.

He is a Freshmen, Sophompre to be. He plays QB and DE. His name is Chris Butler.

Once the wins become consistent the program will promote itself. I understand concern about a record. But without being there you just can not assume what went on or why the record is the way it is. There are too many things that can go on that can affect a coach's record. Very rarely is it a 100% reflection on the head coach alone. The assistants and the players have to hold themselves just as accountable. Injuries can always be a factor. One man isn't responsible for a team's record.

For them to be totally sold on promoting and selling the programs at Cannon County they have to see that they are totally supported in a positive manner. If they feel like everything they do is under a microscope and being critiqued by people who aren't qualified to do so, it could easily cause them to develop a negative attitude towards both the program and the community. That isn't fair to them - they are trying to win or they wouldn't have taken the job. It isn't fair to yall - you end up right back in the same situation you have been in for years.

Is it just me or haven't I heard a lot of, "seein if he will fit in" from the Cannon people? Seems to me, with you guys track record, that yall would be the ones willin to bend and shape yourselves a little differently.

Sorry to hear the coach lost his job. That is, however, a part of the business he is in. Everyone has the right to question whatever they want to. When we stop questioning we stop learning. There is a right way and a wrong way to go about it. That's all I'm saying. I like what you have said in the "football" and "conditioning" posts. I agree with most of it. It takes heart and a feeling of togetherness, yes. But in the end if the other team has as much heart but more knowledge, strength, endurance, and ability-they win.

I feel like it's a good thing. Knowing a coach can be beneficial but SC has seen just about anything you can throw at them. On the flip side of that. Those coaches will probably have a harder time preparing for all that we do if they haven't seen a team that does all that.

I must say my day was pretty bland but now I have managed a few smiles, yes at your expense. Are you really this miserable with your life? If so, I do feel sorry for you. Maybe it's you who has the defeatest attitude that keeps spreading in Cannon County. That's exactly what I have read from you. You have nothing positive to say without negative conotations with them. You can't just judge whether a coach is good or not by his record or simply by the staff he came from. There's way, way more to it than that. There may be a reason assistants from Alcoa or Riverdale aren't happy where they are. Maybe, their head coach doesn't give them any responsibility because they don't think the guy is good enough. I'm just saying you can't speculate or judge without any information to speculate or judge from besides a record or a previous staff someone coached on.

NO. . . You can't read his lips on the film. Duh!!! You can, however, see him intentionally run about 10 yards to get to our QB and you can OBVIOUSLY see him saying things and trying to intimidate a high school kid. Those are facts. Those are on video. Don't patronize. It won't be worth it to you.

I agree it should be fair. And again, we don't know all the going ons behind the scenes either.

I can read just fine and I sense a BIT of sensitivity. Lol. I'm not making an issue of anything. I'm just saying that things would be better (everywhere) if fans and parents would shut their mouths of the negativity and criticisms. Coaches don't follow the fans around while they are at their job and scream vulgarities at them and tell them how "bad" they are at it. And I noticed that you said had, not now. You also said the program will get back on track if whoever plays the best and not the playershe likes and yadda yadda. That, oh wondering if I can read one, is a statement made in the context of future, which would lead one to believe you are still worried about that happening. If that's not the way you intended it I apologize but I suggest you reword your statements in a more clear and precise manner. LOL.
