It is very easy to sit behind a computer screen and vent about this coach and that coach, or how one feels about different opinions. The anonimity of a screen name also gives the person the courage to say things they would not normally say face to face. Sounds like one person doesn't like a coach, and others do. That's how athletics are. I don't think that seekinghisface will convince tuffnstuff otherwise. I think that tuffnstuff could have posted his/her opinions a little more tactfully, but I am sure that they feel very passionate about their opinion. This whole website is about opinions. Agree to dissagree.

Welcome back, Jorj. Hopefully your players would also have uniforms... But back to the topic, I agree with tweeter. I don't think you would be very successful getting guys to wear them. I would be curious to know if any of the pros that wear them are NOT getting a stipend or paycheck from the company that makes them. I do think they would make a difference (although I would probably never wear one). Our captain cracked the bone in his forhead against Morristown East when he headed the back of another player. Sounded like celery breaking... it was awful. Who knows? Maybe they will catch on.

The tie rule is TSSAA regulations. I'm really not quite sure why they do it, though.

When threads start getting ugly, they neeed to be closed. If someone wants to apologize, they can start another thread (like you have) and state their opinion. I am a totally unbiased observer, I don't have a dog in this fight. I also don't claim to know more than anyone else, but I am the one that receives the complaints. On last report, CAK was getting beaten 3-0 by a VERY good CCS team. Don't know the final yet, though.

If you would read Scorpionking's posts, you can easily tell that he is not the coach. I believe that he is a Smyrna High school student based on some of his previous posts. I kind of agree with fevercoach... while I wouldn't like to hear that about my team, he didn't really go overboard with anything. Your concern is noted, though.

Cree, gotta strongly dissagree with you on this one. It isn't totally about skill, it is a mental thing as well. I have seen some of the best players in the WORLD miss some PK's, as well as a whole LOT of great Tennessee soccer players miss in key games. The MLS shooting is to draw the fan base... but I do see your point. Sounds like a great tournament.

I have heard a lot about the two girls from Catholic, and I got to see them. They are quite good. Gotta give props on the home team though with Laura Novikoff (See, I spelled it right Meghan!) from CAK. She is one tough player.

There are not a whole lot of articles in Knoxville papers about ANY team, so at least some of your teams are getting recognition. I know it isn't great, but it is something. Try having your coach contact the reporters. That usually helps.

That is quite possible. I got my info second hand from someone who stayed for the whole game. If it is wrong, I apologize.

Catholic is tough! I was impressed with both teams. Meagan Daniels from CAK had some GREAT saves, but I was most impressed with Catholic's free kick in the second half. Those girls can shoot! I would look for those 2 teams to be going far. CAK girls... you gotta believe to achieve. I know, sounds corny, but you guys have the ability to go the distance. You just have to believe that you can do it. Good seeing you there, Hoya. Hope to see you again in districts.

What up Hoya! Yeah man, this one is gonna be a GREAT one! Tuesday night (but I am making a prediction that it will be postponed due to weather). I'll be there, but in the stands instead of on the other side of the field. This game is so much bigger now that there are district ramifications!!! I would say that Catholic, FRA are definitely strong. Should be a great season!

I saw that Father Ryan got a 10th in the nation spot on NSCAA highschool national pole. Anyone know how the other teams did in the Fab 50? I don't subscribe to student sports, so if anyone does, please let me know how the Tennessee teams did.

Thanks Hoya. I just thought it would be a good recruiting tool for some of the younger guys... like having a Prep Xtra all star game. First team vs. Second team... I think the Sentinel would cover it.
