1. Penguin, lampost, i'm impressed with you two. You guys are awesome guys and i've enjoyed seeing you two grow over the years. I'm proud of you for keeping your posts classy and defending your teammates. Dins8, I think I speak for everyone when I say thanks for your opinions and points about the game. Both CAK and Catholic are great teams, but very, very far from perfect and still have a ton of stuff they can improve on. It's awesome to have an "outsider" (someone not on our team) who can give insight into and critique our play so we can see aspects of our own game that we are lacking in and need to work on. And I love how you keep your posts unbiased and classy. I'd still like to know who you are though.... maybe you can reveal it after the season ends?

  2. QUOTE(easttnref @ May 16 2007 - 07:03 AM) 826460099yes and when you get outside those boundries it is recruiting because you are taking that player away from the highschool team they play on i just think private school kids should play the best compittion possible and they are not doing that right now they should be 3AAA in everything but football and basketball they should stay were they are

So you want schools to pick and choose what sports play AAA and which ones don't? That doesn't make much sense, the school should play every sport on the same level, whichever level it is. A team that the soccer team beats will most likely beat the football team- its not like the schools dominate in every sport in their classification. And with the whole recruiting thing, I know some public school teams who have excellent players who have transferred in from a school with a weaker team by taking advantage of a random rule or by moving. Just because a school has some good players, it doesn't mean its a result of recruiting. There's things called coaching, hard work, team unity, etc. that make a team what it is. Talent only goes so far. And CAK and Catholic don't recruit, I think the TSSAA would have them both in DII if they did. I know this should be in the private/public debate board, but oh well, haha sorry.

  3. I understand where you're coming from with this, but I doubt it'll get changed. This is the region tournament and I think all the teams want to keep it at the normal time. It would be very nice if the games were on different nights cause i would like to watch the bearden/farragut one, but that is probably impossible too.

  4. QUOTE(BigG @ May 14 2007 - 07:31 PM) 826459181Well said, Pinball...

Coach Logan, I expect you at Alcoa Tuesday night at 7:00. Bring your cleats!

And by cleats, he means soccer cleats without sharp metal things sticking out of them...

  5. QUOTE(PinballWizard @ May 14 2007 - 08:35 AM) 826458820Brandon...honestly..read what I said. He led the "Crush Arsenal" in scoring this year. And he did lead them in scoring...also if you wanted it to be said then why not just say it "Brandon led the Premier League this year in scoring followed by Hutchins in second place"

I don't know why you thought that that was what he wanted to be said, but oh well. He was just saying what was true and he misunderstood your post a little. No need to try to start an argument or anything over it. Where does Darsinos play high school? Those are impressive numbers!

  6. QUOTE(ihavenofriendzz @ May 12 2007 - 11:42 PM) 826458300I just thought I'd add this...

Harrison(GA) a team that Farragut tied 2-2 and CAK lost to 0-2, won the AAAAA state championship in Georgia. I just thought it'd help show how some Knox area teams stack up against Georgia's best.

    Wow, impressive!

  7. QUOTE(PinballWizard @ May 11 2007 - 08:49 AM) 826457206Farragut, your welcome

Cool, I have a few friends on there and have always respected your team. Best of luck tonight and for the rest of the season, I hope you all do well at state.

  8. QUOTE(numba1stunna @ May 10 2007 - 05:21 PM) 826456690both teams are playing on the same field??? dur? its gonna be hard for both teams.

I think he means CAK's playing style and them being used to their larger field will make playing on Catholic's field harder. Catholic is used to their home field, as most teams are so it isn't as big a deal for them. I don't think the field makes a huge difference, though, and it won't effect the outcome of the game in any major kind of way. But it is nice to have home field advantage, so winning this game is important for both teams because it determines who has home field advantage in the regional tournament next week.

  9. I haven't seen Bearden play recently, but I know Farragut is playing really well and if they're on, I think they'll win. They definitely have the talent to win it, but if they don't show up with their best effort, I think Bearden will come away with it.

  10. QUOTE(PinballWizard @ May 10 2007 - 08:21 AM) 826456323I agree, after playing CAK this season I have a new respect for them. They play so well as a team and play with so much heart. To me Catholic is just alot of good players playing together but not as a team. I think it will be 2-0 CAK

Who do you play for? I play for CAK so thanks for your kind words about our team.

  11. Webb isn't in A/AA so that game probably didn't have an affect on the ranking change. I don't know any details though. Maybe another team just had really good results that week and jumped ahead of CSAS. Remember that rankings aren't that big of a deal anyway, it's the tournament performance that gets a team to state, not its ranking.

  12. QUOTE(Coniglio @ Apr 23 2007 - 04:30 PM) 826443608Chattanooga area regular season has been pretty much decided. I'm not sure about Knoxville. Nashville's got some huge games coming up.

I think Knoxville is pretty much decided, but I'm not totally sure.

  13. I play for CAK and i was impressed with Harrison's squad- they were pretty big, skilled, and fast, but not by any means unbeatable. I heard the Farragut game was really good, but I sadly didn't get to see it. Our game was fairly even with possession and shots and i think both teams played well and had a few chances; they just capatilized and we didn't. They are a great team though and very classy- I hope they do well in their state tournament that's coming up soon.

  14. QUOTE(mtcsbrett @ Apr 17 2007 - 06:55 AM) 826439206Probably at the end of regulation each team should pull one player off the field every 3 minutes until the game has been decided. Or at the end of 80 minutes (h.s.), we could replace the regulation-size goals with goals that are 50% larger. Or we could allow coaches and school administrators who are present to participate during overtime play....

I think ties are fine. Two soccer teams who have played to even at the end of 80 minutes should record a tie, unless a winner is necessary to determine the advancing team.

Hahaha nice. Yeah, I agree. If neither team deserves a victory by scoring more than the other, the game shouldn't just be handed to one of them in a shootout or something. Ties are part of the game.

  15. QUOTE(hattrick7 @ Apr 17 2007 - 06:50 PM) 826439702And by the way Big G how are the Pifers fitting in on your team.

Sorry i kinda butted in and i'm not BigG, but i'm good friends with both of the pifers and they are two great guys and soccer players. We're blessed to have them and their family here at CAK, even if David will only be here for a year.

  16. I think Farragut has more skill and is the better team, but anything can happen in a physical rivalry game. If Farragut is on top of their game, they'll win. There aren't many teams, if any at all, in the state that can beat them if they are playing their best. But that's if they play their best. I think they'll show up on Friday and I say Farragut will win 2-0.

  17. QUOTE(PinballWizard @ Apr 8 2007 - 02:54 PM) 826432438Farragut will comeout hard because of their overtime loss to Christian Brothers, but since the West Bearden game is early in the week, Bearden might come out hard after a loss to a strong West team. Should be a great week of soccer in East Tennessee with CAK vs Webb on Tuesday also

and Catholic vs. CAK on friday also.

  18. West has a few talented freshman that i know of. Tanner Thompson has pretty good skill and a killer throw in, it was like a corner every time they got a throw near our box. Steven G. (i have no clue how to spell his last name) is also very good. These two are good already and i look forward to seeing how they improve over the next few years.
