todd hood from montgomery central is in my mind one of tennessees best unkept secrets. moving from defense to offense and still very successful. may not have all the studs to produce, but still competing against the creekwoods, lipscombs, giles co., cheathams, sycamores, and many others. hodd will be a great head coach someday. good man with a passion for the sport and loves to see success in his athletes. Yeah, my vote is to todd hood.

Northwest won 27 - 20 allowing the 20 points to be scored by #2's in the final 5 minutes of the game. Mac need a scout on Juliet if you can give me a call.

Well, Mac, there is no smack talk, and I believe it is a match up that will be a great game. My first opportunity at a championship game in my time as a coach. Don't really care if it is JV, MIDDLE SCHOOL, OR HIGH SCHOOL, it is a championship and we are excited. My boys are ready and so is Rossview. This game is momentum to the off season. I am glad we don't have to put players in that are juniors to ensure that we can win. We are playing with the boys we have played all year and win or lose I am so proud of these boys.

What a phrase to use as a coach? I have one more for you all in the big game tonight, " Give him the rock and he will Shine! " . I do honestly have total belief in this statement. By the way, the defense loves our running back, because he does something we have not had in a long time. That young man fires us up in more ways than you know. My lasting impression is a run on friday night where he told me if he scores would we stop them. I love that in an athlete because he believes in his defense and that same defense wants to see him run. O'By the way, it is good to see this Northwest running back pave the way to the future along with the offensive line, wide receivers, and a new composed QB. See what happens when you keep it short and simple. Good luck tonight to all in our great region, and hopefully we can squeez one out tonight and monday night. Would be great momentum.

It would be nice to get a freshmen schedule again but all numbers would have to go up. You cannot field a freshmen team with only 10 freshmen a year, but 20 freshmen and sophmores make a good JV team. Bad thing is you now only have about 30 varsity athletes if that as Juniors and Seniors. Wish we dressed 60 to 80 like some teams. Yeah, that would be nice.

I disagree, it builds momentum, and this championship of the JV level will send great athletes to the Varsity level. Every successful team that competes has a good lower level. Granted, it is only JV to many, but to the coaches involved in the game feel as if this is a great opportunity. I bet Marryville, Hillsboro, and Riverdale have teams participating in the JV and Freshmen levels and find success. Maybe a little more attention needs to be placed on these athletes. However, as I have heard for years, JV is not in the paper on Saturday. Well High School Football is not in the paper on Sunday or Monday Either, this town will not find great football success until the youth of the city is taken seriously. Till then lets build another school and spread the coaching and the talent. Hopefully northwest will be able to build momentum for the next season, and win games that are coming down to the 4th quarter. That would be nice!!!

Monday at Rossview, 6:00, Rossview beat the vikings 16-13 in the first match up, and their records are Rossview 7-0 and Northwest 6-1. Should be a good game since both teams have beat opponents by an average 20+ points and only allowing 6 points a game first string. Looks to be a great match up.

Mac I respect you and enjoy talking to you. And the way the JV is created, it is very important to win. You guys won it last year with many of the boys winning this year. Tells you something, Momentum in the offseason and Belief. To get the Job done. Maybe if we put work into our future and not solely on our present this town will be successful each year. Amazing you have a winning season mac and now you are the big man. Last season you were in the same spot and almost won the championship and lost to who, well, rossview. They seem to have a future brewing over there and this championship means the world to the futures of teams. It showcases the future talent in our city, so we care and many others do to. Be thankfull that fumble went your way, or you would be in this position. You cannot deny the facts, so enjoy your season as we will support you and by the way, if we win friday night you get a share of the region championship, so you better care!

this game will come down to two quarters, the first and the forth. The team that gets up early may continue momentum, but the last game northwest was up 13-0 but a safety, block punt, and in the forth quarter reverse sealed the win for rossview and the game ended 16-13 rossview. They are talented but it comes down to the 4th quarter in this one.

It has been a rough season in Viking Country, but with a win against Beech it could mend some wounds. Beech is 5-0 in region play, and Northwest is 1-4. However, this is a different look given by the vikings lately. A defense that has given up few points and an offense finishing more than ever, but was it a fluke or a beginning. Please share your thoughts. By the way, Beech in my mind is the team to beat, they do not make mistakes. Very good coached team, should be a fun game.

can a 4-6 team make a bowl game if they are the #5 team in their region with a tough schedule or are they out for good till spring ball.

How do you feel about the defense at northwest? Are we good, need much work, fire the Coordinator (me), have much to learn as a staff, or the boys are close to getting the job done. Just a thought to see how you all see these boys and me. Do my assistants and I put the boys in the right place or are we not making the positive impacts needed to be a good defense. 1-5 record I surly blame myself soully because we don't lose if I had made the right calls and kept the points off the board. However, these boys are good enough to make some noise. How do you feel about the 2005 Viking Defense? Honest responses please!!!
