  1. the Brothers played a terrible game against Neuqua Valley. absolutely terrible. nothing went their way. not to mention, the refs were terrible. it was rediculous. but that is no excuse for the lack of execution displayed by CBHS. CBHS is a very good team but also inconsistent. the MUS game was not a fluke. the Brothers have talent. they just need to get back to playing team ball and look out, they could go far in the playoffs with a couple more upsets in the regular season...
  2. initially i would have said that CBHS is the best team in the state with the best defense. but the Brothers have struggled ever since that win over MUS. they sqeezed by Houston by two goals and lost to Neuqua Valley by 3, a team from chicago that lost to MUS 17-3. (i think that was the score) The Brothers seem to be too inconsistent and it could come back to sting them later. they have the talent to stunn the state and steal the championship but they need to get it together. i havent heard much about USN this year... how are they doing? are they better than their record shows? and what about Webb? they're scorin some points! also, will brakebill's and chip beucham's (spelling?) departure from McMallie affect them tremendously?
  3. who do yall think is the best team in the state? along with that, who has the best defense and offense?
  4. i definately think that Chris Taylor is the best goalie in the state, not only did he make 17 wicked saves in the win over MUS, he is the leader of CBHS. he doesnt lose his cool like many other goalies, like Rainer...
  5. how about all of you stop posting all of these stupid comments. you took a good conversation and ruined it. how about we talk about lacrosse and about how the weight room can help out the sport instead of bragging about how much you can lift. no one on this site cares and no one on this site really believes you anyway so just stop posting stupid crap and talk about lacrosse.
  6. they could. CBHS has some guys that can play on defense. they may not be the fastest players but they are strong. the only thing that could be hurtful for CBHS's defense is experience. all of their starters were seniors. they will only have 5 returning varsity defenders. only 1 of them significantly saw playing time. they have 1 returning long stick middie. the 5 that didn't play much are rising juniors and the 1 defenseman that played some will be a senior. the long stick middie will be a junior. i think the season will depend on the way they play. they need to step up and force the outside shots-- Taylor will eat those shots up, he can make those saves easily. this could pssibly be taylor's year to prove himself. he could end up being superior to rainer with the strength of his defense. (by strength i mean physical strength)
  7. AMEN. sheep herder is just a mccallie hothead that thinks he's better than everyone because they won state. rainer most definately isn't inferior. i've seen baucam play twice and rainer plenty of times. rainer is better. by the way, if you think i'm saying that because you think i go to MUS, you're wrong. i hate MUS more than any team in the state, but i actually base my reasoning on some grounds of intelligence. rainer is better and will be the best goalie in tennessee next year. taylor will be a close second if CBHS's defense can step up. granted that's a big if. sheep herder, if your're going to post something, make sure it's true and make sure you know what you're talking about.
  8. imrightyourwrong- STOP. get his e-mail or something and stop being such a whiny punk and posting all that crap on this site. it for talking about lacrosse not complaining constantly about what another player did in a game. i think jimbo rainer and chris taylor are going to be outstanding next year. CBHS's defense could be better next year judging from the talent they have at upcoming defenders--maybe taylor won't have to face as many shots. that abernathy goalie didn't look too good in the game i saw but from what i hear, he's a freshman. he'll be pretty good later on.
  9. it doesn't take that long to get your workout in. i play football as well as lacrosse (lacrosse is better). one day you do upper body and the next your do lower-- four days a week so that you won't exaust yourself. it takes about 30 min after practice to get your reps in. i think it would definately improve the level of play in tennessee if players got in the weightroom more often. defense should abviously focus on everything-- they need to be strong. attack- more upper body and abs for faster, more powerful shots. middies- same as attack but probably more legs than the attack for all the running. i can't really think of a good reason for goalies to work out. i guess legs in order to make their steps easier. just some thoughts... i think the level of play would kick up a few notches if players were stronger.
  10. i say CBHS is the 4th best-- they did make the semi's and beat Farragut when it counted. they beat USN in overtime in a very sloppy game. CBHS played terrible in that game-- they blew a 4 or 5 goal lead at half (something like that, don't remember exact #). i think they were clearly better than USN. farragut just didn't look that great to me. they looked more lucky than talented. they had some great players but none that stood out as many as some of the CBHS players. i'm sure there will be disagreement due to all the farragut players that are addicted to this site, but that is just what i think.
  11. yes, i've seen the goalie cbhslax16 is talking about. he has an enormous of raw talent. all he needs is some coaching. he will be attending cbhs next year and from what i understand, the cbhs coaching staff has some caliber guys running the show. he could turn out to be better than regan, rainer, baucom, and taylor. i might be wrong. we'll just wait and see...

    Thank you

i agree with baylaredraydaz. i enjoy reading these comments and postinf some as well. thanks coacht
  13. i heard that cordova wasn't going to have a team next year because all but about 2 players on the team are seniors. i'm not really sure what will happen. where did you hear about the folding of lausanne and white station?
  14. sounds like u got an attitude problem, bud. chill out, he was just trying to make a point. what he said is true. CBHS was not as good as MUS or MBA. they had streaks where they were pretty dangerous and played good teams like MUS and MBA close in the beginning of games, but later ran out of steam. calm down, u just won state
  15. since this year is over, who is going to lose the most talent? who isn't losing much? who will win state next year?
  16. all of the guys that have been mentioned have some great talent. i agree with BIGRUSN, i think this year the attackmen have taken most of the glory on offense. there are a number a outstanding attackmen in the stae. i just have something to say about a player i've seen play that no one knows about... Miles Carter (middie). he's a sophmore at cbhs and he jsut recently moved up to 2nd line. he's lightning quick, has a great feness shot, and plays solid defense. his stick skills are strong with both hands, but needs to work on his power and speed in his shot -like i said, he's got the technique down. he didn't play much at all for most of the season but watch out for him later.

    Reffing

i personally think that the reffs in tennessee are terrible. none of them are consistent with the calls they make. most of them are flag happy, too. some will throw a flag if a defensman so much as sneezes on an attackman. i don't like the reffs. most of them are old and out of shape and don't see much of what happens during the game. they baby the game by calling everything in order to not be accused of losing control of the game (they throw flags when a pole legally lays someone out because he got plasted). i can think of 5 different occations where an unsportsman-like conduct foul should have been called off of the top of my head. one time a reff called a 2 minute slash on an attackman. the coach went up to him and asked if he had just made that up and asked if there was any such thing as a 2 min. slash. the reff looked at him and said, "because i said so. i made the decision for it to be 2 minutes because it was a vicious play..." it wasn't vicious, the kid was jsut riding and happened to hit the d-pole in the helmet with his check. that's jsut one example of what i am talking about. from what i've seen, the tennessee reffs have done an aweful job this season.

    Max Klein

#1 for cbhs is Tony Heard (sophmore) #85 is William Hackett (junior), and #16 is Spencer Cooke (senior). Max Klien is a sophmore at cbhs who only plays jv. tlcbhs thought it would be funny to start this conversation and mlax422 is max klien-- he's not injured Heard and Hackett are going to be amazing next year. they both have raw talent and have yet to perform to thier potential and still put up some great performances.
  19. the game was closer than the score, the terrible conditions of the field led to some mccallie goals that shouldn't have happened
  20. hey frostbyte, ur an idiot. tlcbhs was talking about Chris Taylor, not himself. In my opinion, I agree with tlcbhs. Taylor has faced much more shots than all three of those goalies. His defense isn't as good as McCallie's or MUS or MBA. Why is everyone choosing only the good team's goalies? I've seen all 4 of these goalies play and frankly, I don't understand why everyone has failed to mention Chris Taylor. The kid doesn't miss a beat. He keeps CBHS in games with his saves and can clear the ball as good as any of the other 3. Chris Taylor is the best goalie in Tennessee.
