  1. FBEmeritus, With respect, I did not interject "Maryville" into the thread, but simply made an observation based on Delron's post. Sorry if I stepped on a nerve. No one (including myself) doubts that Maryville has a quality football program.
  2. "and like 82-2 in the games they actually did play over last 6 years." Such a record would be a lot more impressive if Maryville's schedule was a little tougher. With few exceptions, the teams on their schedule seem to have losing records.
  3. "yea he is just 2 bad calls that would have us undefeated" The "mistakes" did not lose the game. The turnovers and Riverdale's defense giving up over 180 yards in offense in less than 4 minutes lost the game. The players need to accept responsibility, learn from the experience, and get over it. The whining and bellyaching does not do you credit.
  4. JesseWJohnson, Thanks for the information.
  5. "UT offered about 10-15 of scholarships to quarterbacks before Coleman, so don't listen to that stuff, cause they gave rides to other QB's before Coleman." Would you mind providing the names of the 10-15 quarterbacks offered before Coleman for next year's freshman class?
  6. Certainly some "luck" was involved, just as when McCallie fumbled a kickoff and gave Riverdale an opportuity for an easy touchdown. The coaching decision not to "take a knee" could also be questioned. However, the coach did not fumble the ball or throw the interception. The coach also did not give up 180 passing yards in the last four minutes of the game. Riverdale had plenty of opportunity to overcome whatever mistakes were made, but failed to do so. To put a little more perspective on the came, despite the dominance of Riverdale's running game, the game would have been tied before the "coaching error" occured if you take away the easy touchdown resulting from the fumble on the kickoff. Riverdale's offensive performance in the second half was more impressive for its time of possession than for the numbers put on the board. Riverdale got beat in a game it should have won. It lost because of its inability to stop McCallie's offense when it mattered. Learn from the experience.
