A very interesting season. The three top teams all split for the year 1-1. McCallie just happened to win the big one. It says a lot for the quality of the game in TN and the parity at the upper levels of play. It's not surprising that MUS wore themselves out on Friday against MBA. Next year should be interesting also.

It was not a particularly great game. MUS played a great game, but MBA had one of their worst games of the year in the first half. Very much like their effort in their first game against McCallie this year, which they also lost. They simply didn't hustle. Too bad, it could have been a close game. MUS indeed deserves their #1 rank in the South, but they should be ranked much higher nationally than they are.

Do we know that BigRed 402 is in fact from MBA? Could he be from MUS using an MBA pseudonym? A bit of psychology, perhaps? Hard to believe that an MBA student would be dumb enough to write that.

Lacrosse will continue to grow rapidly across the country at the grass roots level. It will never be huge like football because it doesn't televise well -- following a small ball across the length of the field is difficult, much more so than hockey, which is on a smaller playing field. The sport must be viewed live on the field to be fully appreciated. Furthermore, I think some HS football coaches may begin to realize that lacrosse is by far the best Spring sport for overall conditioning and coordination skills, and may begin to encourage their football players to take up the sport. Serious injuries are relatively uncommon, and there is a place on the lacrosse field for almost every type of athlete.

What are the predictions for the upcoming semifinal between MUS and MBA? I think MBA caught MUS napping last time, but it will be tough to beat them twice on their home field. Both teams seem equally athletic and well coached.
