the Newport Plain Talk has done a horrendous job outside of the coverage Seth Butler provided. He gave us an excellent article when we played Greenback in baseball and covers his stuff in a way where its not only a sports report its also like a real piece of fiction work Really interesting I can't believe they hired Steve Blanchett to be their editor. He can't even write an interesting sports story. Even less he can't write a story that makes any sense at all. Anyone in Newport or Cosby feel the same way Or did they quit subscribing to that rag to I know we at Cosby and even the Cocke County people I talk to really miss Steve Wilhoit Very Disappointed Cosby Eagle fan here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

that is more of an indictment of the worse than poor elementary system cocke county has to offer. no wonder ngs wants out. players in the area are not able or ready to contribute to a class AAA school basketball team. marky and dexter have been great for cosby no doubt but they made the right moves for them, and for cosby. i dont think they wouldve gotten the accolades and recognition they have gotten at cocke county and that isnt a slap at cocke county either. in the past few years the eagles have to show up and they all but qualify for the regional semi finals with the horrible teams in 3a. cocke countys talent base is not all strong. it would do well in class a, but its not a class aaa talent level and i think people forget the competition differences each team faces inside of their district and region. kudos to cosby for scheduling a very ambitious schedule this year tho

Steve Blanchett of the newport plain talk is about the worst sports writer and editor around. he had Cosby "one game short of a sub-state birth" in a story the other day and then got the result wrong of one Cocke County game he went to at Knox Central. i'm not the brighest guy around, but i know better than that. this guy likes cosby but likes to take to many cheerleader pictures and rec league stuff rather than paying attention to the game. he totally messed up the ending to last nights cosby/rockwood game. if he takes another cheerleading photo, he needs to be hit with a lawsuit. i sure miss seeing Steve Wilhoit, who went to morristown and Seth Butler covering Cosby, although he does a great job with cocke county and is one of the finest young writers in the area. i saw seth at the game last night with WLIK and taking notes, i just wonder why did not have a story is int he plain talk today. maybe the plain talk will wise up and fire Steve Blanchett before it gets worse.
