  1. I would doubt it. The TSSAA says that if a student transfer has practiced with a team for 3 or more days at the school where he/she were previously enrolled then they would be ineligible for 12 months to play that sport unless there is a change of residence. I believe that is what Dragonmaster was getting at but that rule shouldn't be an issue anyway since basketball teams cannot officially practice yet. The rule that would apply is the one that states that a student must be enrolled before the 20th day of school, in regular attendance, and carry 5 full courses during the present semseter. In this case, Mayo would be in the clear to play. Here is the TSSAA's summary TSSAA rules
  2. I've heard from a local AAU coach ( whose information is always 99.99999999995% accurate ) that Todd Mayo is indeed now at Briarcrest.
  3. Not surprised in the least if true.
  4. **UPDATE** I spoke with a football coach from Houston friday night and he informed me that Todd Mayo was enrolled and attending classes at Houston. As for now, it appears he is a Mustang so I suppose the question is does he stay or not.
  5. Not always. Some coaches don't always promote their players like they should. If you don't play AAU circuits you will be ignored by the recruiting services ( which do have an impact) all the while having the potential to be a Top 100 player and fall through the cracks. I can understand a potential high profile recruit going to a school with some history of getting players into big schools and major D-1 programs. It's not about winning games per se but rather it comes down to exposure. Being a high profile recruit on a high profile team can get you the attention of high profile college programs. Houston and C-ville are both fine schools and if I had kids I wouldn't have a second thought about sending them there. Briarcrest's academics are more than fine I'm sure. ( and please let me stress that there isn't any hard evidence that he's going there) And I'm not so sure the Mustangs and Dragons will always struggle in basketball. I used to say the same thing about Bolton and football.
  6. I'm hearing he may end up at Briarcrest instead.
  7. UNC is a blueblood program. There are a lot of schools that would love to be considered such when only a handful can truely refer to themselves that way.( UCLA, UK,UNC,KU,Duke) No, I wouldn't put Memphis in that category and not by a long shot. That takes years and years of success. It takes time and luck. Now, would I compare Memphis as an elite program with UNC as of right now? You better believe I would.
