  1. I've heard their O-line willl be very good. The only result I heard from spring scrimmages was that they beat Science Hill 14-7.
  2. From what I hear, Lollar will be the starting quarterback with Gash and Leeper in the backfield. Washington is going to be one of the wide-outs but unsure who the other one will be. This should be a pretty talented group and fun to watch.
  3. Girls and boys games are alternating each day, but here is the girls schedule: Monday: William Blount vs. Cocke Co. 4:00 Maryville Heritage vs. South Greene 7:00 Tuesday: Powell vs. Austin-East 4:00 Greeneville vs. Sullivan Central 7:00 Wedenesday: Loser's Bracket games start at 4:00 Friday: Winner's Bracket semifinals start at 4:00 Saturday: Championship games starting at 12:30
  4. The boys teams in the tournament are Greeneville, Lenoir City, Austin-East, Sullivan Central, William Blount, Cocke County, Elizabethton and South Greene. Monday: South Greene vs. Elizabethton Cocke Co. vs. William Blount Tuesday: Austin-East vs. Sullivan Central Greeneville vs. Lenoir City Wednesday: Loser's Bracket games Friday: Winner's bracket semifinals Saturday: Championship The boys games alternate with two girls games each night. Haven't heard the part about the rings though.
  5. There's a new site for Greeneville High School at greenevillefootball.com.
  6. Bud your making my statement look better every time you reply to it. I read your post on the Volunteer thread about the supposed "home cooking" Greeneville gets by the officials at home. If you knew anything at all about Greeneville football you would know that is the most ludicrous statement ever posted on here. Year in and year out Greeneville is either 1st or 2nd in the region in penalties. the reason you're crying is that your best running back in the heat of the game, knowing he's the reason they're making a comeback, makes a major mental error and gets himself ejected from the game. If he'd kept his head DB probably wins but you can't blame the officials for making the right call. Being provoked into making a mistake like that is part of football. If you're going to go to each thread that talks about Greeneville and bash them over something of which you are totally ignorant, then you going to have to live with the criticism.
  7. Students from the county can attend Greeneville High but they have to pay tuition (about $1000 per year). To reply to the DB fan that asked if they were classless I would say since you didn't reply with arrogant answer, no, but most of the posters from DB that I have seen on this site either spend all their time gloating about DB or trying to cut down everybody that disagrees with them. Bud has made my point for me so there's no need to discuss it further. This thread was about how Greeneville is doing this year and has turned into a thread like every other thread ever posted on here about Greeneville in which everybody that has played Greeneville in the past wants to cry about how classless they are. There are classless people that support every high school and there are people with class at every high school. The person that started this thread asked "How is Greeneville doing?", and I answered it.
  8. If that is the best you can do, I rest my case.
  9. Yes, Greeneville is a 3-A school playing in 4-A and that is to preserve the rivalries that they have built with the teams in their Region over the years. A lot of people in Greeneville were wondering why the qb was still in the game in the 4th quarter but as far as this team's arrogance and classlessness, I haven't seen that in this team this year and from reading some of these posts it sounds like DB fans are probably the whiniest and cryingest people in east Tennessee. That game was a year ago!! and the first time Greeneville had beaten DB since 1968. It's a shame Greeneville wasn't playing 5-A ball last year or they would have been in the state championship game. I agree that Coach Clark is a classy guy and his teams play with class, but the fans from DB are the most arrogant and classless in east Tennessee.
  10. I'm going to try to bring this thread back to the original topic and answer the question that eastTNftball asked. The Devils have rebounded well since their first 2 games. They have beaten David Crockett, Sullivan South, Cherokee, Elizabethton, and Volunteer. The defense is playing good ball right now (held Volunteer to 47 yds total offense last Friday) and after a sluggish start, the offense has been productive. They're not throwing the ball much this year but their ground attack has been solid with Chase Greenway at qb leading the team in rushing. They're rotating three running backs in Lollar, Gash, and Leeper with all three having 300 to 400 yds rushing. Their kicking game has been solid but kick coverage is suspect ( gave up 87 and 84 yd ko return last Friday). Should finish no worse than 3rd in Region with games at Cocke Co., home to Morristown West, and at Morristown East left to play.
  11. Chad Pennington from Knox Webb is a pretty good qb as well.
