Who would be a coach to consider for the job @ Smyrna, I know the assistants at Smyrna will apply, but when Mr . Raikes said it did not have to be a Smyrna guy was he meaning a Smyrna guy from the staff or are they looking elsewhere?

do I not have any valid points? I have a right to make some points like I did when coach A was hired at RHS I did not believe that his wing t version would be succesful for them. Please come on I am just saying that he could have not been the best selection for the position. What quality wins does he have out of those 7 that says that his future is so bright not knocking this guy but the system is jacked up!!!I bet him knowing Collins was the difference.

Oakland be prepared for some more of the same just because you get an assistant principal connected to Rankin they hire another assistant for Head football coach. It is not what you know it is who you know. I am sorry but 1 year as a head coach at Moore County is not an impressive resume, he did not even win a playoff game. When this new coach was a d coordinator at BGA they went 3 - 7. I am still not impressed. Oakland fans these are only my views and opinions to this hire. It is amazing to me how so many people think that this guy is an good obvious choice. I would have more respect if they would have hired Rankin his record is impressive. Not 7 -4 as a head coach at Moore County.

I am not talking bad about Coach Macdaniel but it should take more than just 1 year of being a head coach in lower class level playing Moore County. What happened to the bigger name coaches, With more experience? Did they all turn Oakland down? If Coach Mac is the coach, good luck because this county 's level of play can not be compared to that of the region of Moore County.

SINCE COACH U IS BEING BROUGHT UP WHAT ABOUT COACH ALSUP AT SIEGEL HE BROUGHT THE FIRST TITLE TO OHS IN 1984 A LONG LONG LONG TIME AGO. HE ALSO COACHED AT CENTRAL WHEN MR. VAUGHN WAS PRINCIPAL.

Coach Fields did not apply for the job this is a rumor because of his success at the school across town. He is proably content with his program. He would be a good candidate.

He has coached his teams to three straight championship games in the rutherford county middle school conference, he has won two of them. He is a up and coming coach maybe a coordinator or something?

What about Torey Patterson He played at Oakland, has had sucessful young coaching career at Smyrna Middle? I think he coached at Blackman High in the begining also.

I was dropping my son off today for his exam and I believe that I saw Smyrna Middle's coach coming out of the office in a suit and tie.

the wing t has not been too good to riverdale either playing against it or runnning it in their offense. a lot of their few losses came to teams that ran the wing t. does anybody recall riverdale football before the rankin era? they ran the wing t in the 80's until rankin. be careful riverdale warriors not to fall back into the rut of going 6- 4 with the wing t because history does and can repeat itself.
