.....would be cool to see Harvey and Tygard get that back on the annualistic schedulin plan

I just thought that is maybe what captain of nothing was referring to, but then again why I even gave his post any thought was a waste of time Ill never get back.
Captain Cuckoo is just another one of the T’s fabulous “character” posters with a catch phrase or a niche that separates them from the rest of the pack…
We got him “approving this message”
We got another one who is always “just saying”
and then we have the guy on the 1A/2A boards who likes to say that we always “think he’s joking, but he’s not”
We also have that very nice Maryville feller who amazingly writes in backwoods dialect so well that you have to slow down sometimes to decipher what he is saying and to figure out he’s a pretty smart guy…
And we used to have my own personal favorite the unofficial spokesman of the Owls over in Hamilton county Passive Aggressive - who seems to have vanished from Coach T completely #LOP
These are just a few of the guys who make these boards fun. It’s good to have serious debate about the topic we all love but these dudes sauce it up a bit and keep it lively.

They are in the same area, do they play each other?
Used to be a big rivalry game for the Eagles back in the old District 5 AAA days of the 80’s and early 90’s, now they just play every now and again. Played last year and Cleveland smacked the Eagles around up in Evansville. Unless something changes that will be game 5 for Rhea over in Cleveland this season.
Hopefully with a different outcome….- 1

Walker Valley Defensive Coordinator Taylor Harvey has finally been announced as the new head football coach for the Eagles. This was a great hire by the powers that be in Rhea County.
Lots of potential with Coach Harvey as he is one of the best young coaches in East Tennessee.
Welcome to Rhea County Coach Harvey and family!

Cleveland Raiders will have a good team but they will not be able to mercy rule Bearden Bears, Bradley Bears, or Maryville Rebels next season. It will not happen. I guarantee it. Watch and see. I am Captain Guru and I approve this message.
Didn’t Bradley pretty much lose all there offensive firepower from last year? What all do they have coming back?

Why would Messimer not give Jason another shot at it?
That is a good question, Just what I have been told, I don’t know the answer. Someone should ask him.

I agree - Fitzgerald and Tabor are within a few years of retiring through the school system???
I’m pretty sure Fitz would come if offered the job. I don’t think Tabor would leave Bledsoe even for more money.

Not a Rhea Co. follower, but my stepdad is. My money is on someone not listed here.
Interesting…. You say that as if you have heard a name… I myself heard some very interesting rumors today that were attached to specific name but I don’t think that’s likely.
I would have to see it to believe it.That being said….
Jason Fitzgerald would be the best/most realistic candidate - if he is still interested and if a certain higher up in the school system can be persuaded to give him another shot.
Then again this could get really interesting …

Hey oridgecat, won’t this be a region game for the Ridge? Wildcats better be ready for that “tackle eligible” tight end pass. Lol

Under Pemberton, Rhea has never thrown very much because that just doesn’t fit his coaching philosophy. I believe they threw the ball more the years before Pemberton’s son was QB - when they had Dotson at QB and Noel Patterson at receiver.
As EagleVolSteeler stated they lined up in more of an old school “straight” T formation and ran 2 tight ends for a while. Zach Pemberton did carry the ball quiet a bit because they ran a lot of triple option out of that formation.the last couple of years Pemberton did move to some I formation backfield sets because they featured the very talented Ethan Davis at running back, but Pemberton is primarily an old school double wing T guy.

Going to be quite an adjustment for the folks at CC going from Justin Price's offense to the winged t.
That said, Campbell County has already lost a couple of its better players to AC and word is that several more are leaving. If the offensive philosophy is going to change, now is the time to do it.
Pemberton knows the winged t like few others do. If the kid buy in it might eventually work.
Yes it is. It’s gonna be interesting.

Coach Pemberton has been pretty good where ever he has coached. His Wing T may be a good fit for Campbell County as they usually have good size up front, they just need to add the skill to it. The WIng T gives teams like that a chance to control the ball, shorten the game, and win. The Price twins had a good run up there and gave them a lot of good wins and certainly did a great job with the facilities and raised the interest in football. I thought last year they were way short in skill position players and it really cost them. I thought they made a good move toward Grace, they will do well there.
Agree on all points. The Price bros could do really well at Grace and Pemberton’s offense could do well at Campbell County…… IF…he can mesh with the locals and they are able to adjust from watching their team throw it all over the field to throwing 3-5 times a game. He will turn all those little speedy receivers they usually have into speedy little wingbacks. He will take the best back or most athletic linebacker and put them at fullback where if he is the right guy he will get the yards. That may sound crazy but if the team buys into the concept, it will work especially in a place like coffee county. Pemberton knows the double wing T as good as anyone in coaching the last 20 years.

Things have been souring at Rhea between Pemberton and the community for a few years now. That I know for a fact. As to why they soured - I only know the rumors and what I hear from parents that still have kids in the program and I wouldn’t want to spread unfounded or biased rumors. Let’s just say that there is a large part of the Rhea fan base that is very happy he is leaving and that is not the normal reaction when you lose a coach with a win loss record like Pemberton has.
He probably should have left a few years ago….I will loosely quote Harvey Dent in saying “you either leave a hero or hang around long enough to become the villain”The Eagles have been down the last couple of years but these issues go way back farther than that. I will let some of our other folks that are closer to the situation fill in the blanks.

Since you seem to be the coach's biggest supporter, perhaps you can explain to me why he has never utilized his tight ends to be anything other then run blockers? You don't think a short pass here or there would take a little pressure off of the RB's? He may be a great coach but the offense doesn't have to be a spread to be more effective. And the only reason he changed it this year was after all of our backs got injured. Just an honest opinion and as always............Go Eagles!
@oridgecat you wanna chime in on this one? LOL

Yeah, what ever happened to HogDogger/ C.C Boom? I would have loved to hear his take on his new head coach LOL
Mentioning Hall of Fame Posters - While he didn’t have the big catch phrase gimmick you gotta throw Willie the Wildcat in with that crew.
I didn’t always agree with him and he often went overboard but he sure was a character and he LOVED those Wildcats.
RIP Willie
