Two long runs by a talented back and some unfortunate miscues by Morristown West were capitalized upon by Tennessee High. Morristown West dominated the first quarter. The score at halftime should have been even at 7-7. I realize that Tennessee High went undefeated this season and that says a lot. No disrespect - but I was not impressed. If Tennessee High has the opportunity to face Maryville, the Red Rebels will win that contest hands down. GQ has a mighty fine ball club and I look for them to make it to the big dance. As a faithful Morristown West fan, I salute the coaches and players for their effort tonight and look forward to seeing them again next fall.

Unfortunately, the team has had to endure these comments for the last few weeks. Despite that fact, the players and coaches have shown a great deal of resolve. As a fan, I'm proud of each and every one of them, despite their record and the adversity they have faced this season. Looking forward to making the trip to the "Stone Castle" (my first trip). bmart, Thanks for the confirmation. Keep focused this week (I've heard the practices this week have been good) and just "play one play at a time". You guys have a lot to be proud of, despite the record. I know it's been a tough season (I've been at every game), but now's the chance to turn it around. I'll be there Friday - wouldn't miss it. B-man, Check your "facts" - they're incorrect. Unless you're a trainer or coach, I'd encourage you to retract your statement about 25. For the rest of your statements, if you're a player (I have my suspicion), your statements are a contribution to the problem the team has faced the entire year. If you are a player, become a part of the solution instead of the problem. One of my all-time favorite quotes is "Don't point a finger, lend a hand..." I encourage you to think about it. If you're a fan, you are entitled to your opinion - but support is what the team needs now - not criticism. Thick and thin. GO TROJANS !!

That's a pretty bold statement, B-man. 25 has had a nagging injury and 4 still has some learning to do. Granted, he did look good on a couple of series and will probably grow into a decent QB - but 12 has been a leader. I don't think your statment about Coach Woods is fair nor appropriate. However, you are entitled to your opinon. It sounds like you have a personal gripe. We'll have to see what Coach Woods has put together for this week - I for one am interested in seeing what he puts on the field Friday. Thanks for the props, Mike. Morristown West has had an interesting year. Each game has been different, depending on which team showed up. This bunch has all kinds of tallent, but has had trouble putting together the total package on a consistent basis. The coaching staff is great, the players are talented - it has been frustrating from an outsider's perspective. Looking forward to Friday - I hear the atmosphere at "The Castle" is something else. Mega Dittos, Transplant. Rebelron, thanks for being a class act. I've met and talked with some others involved with the Maryville program who have shared the same sentiment as you. It looks like there is some young tallent just waiting to be cultivated at Morristown West. Especially impressed with the play of #30 last couple of games. Kudos to the defense for playing their heart out. Transplant, would like to hear your take on the game last night.

Morristown West will need to dig deep and find a spark for the playoffs. The tallent is there - the players need to believe in themselves and find an ignition source to generate that spark. 'Scanner, amen. The thought of Supreme Court appointments is just about important as the war on terror - two things Kerry could ruin our country as we know it. The penalty for an infraction by the team has a tendency to motivate a player - even to the point of making him player of the week (according to the CitTrib this morning). 'Scanner, Need better tackling - there is no wrapping up. Arm tackling is not going to get the job done, especially with the playoffs just around the corner. Containment against a sweep or option has been an issue to. I'm sure Coach B will be looking for a fix this week. 16 has saved more than one touchdown return this year - I really don't think he gets as much credit as he deserves... I think moving 55 to the OL has given them some leadership and brought them closer together. I can't wait to see them next year - should be very exciting. About the roughing the kicker call... It reminded me of the old "Saturday Night Live" skit with John Goodman playing the referee during a talk show and a kid stands up and asks him, "Do you have a soul?". That call was a point of contention during dinner after the game - everyone I talked with could not believe it. 12 and 3 did look good - I think 25 has some of his same issues nagging him. Any reason known why 12 didn't start the first series? I thought that was odd. Lots of orange "W for President" stickers at the UT game. I've always thought UT fans have good taste. I hope Morristown West will play collectively as a TEAM and not as individuals. It's really hard to understand what has happened with the kids this year. I know it has to be frustrating for the coaches and players (hopefully) as well. Friday should be a chance for Morristown West to find themselves and work towards a solid finish for the season. Colquitt is an artist of the craft - had the pleasure of watching him in a practice in August. He looked like a machine with his technique - same motion each time. I guess with his family genes it would stand to reason. I didn't realize the ceremony would start before the game instead of halftime - the minister of finance and recreation is on top of it I'm sure. Anyone talking to #16 about his future?

Ha ha - he is kinda quiet now that you mention that. The reason I was wondering is that #16 will be sorely missed next year. Hard to replace a talent like that.
