  1. 1)DB---MORE TALENT THAN THE OTHERS. 2)SEVIER CO.--- BREWER IS A GREAT COACH, AND HE HAS HAD SOME GOOD KIDS TRANSFER IN. 3)CC---COACH WELLS HAD BEEN REBUILDING FOR 3 YEARS, AND HE KNOWS WHAT DOING WITH THE TALENT HE HAS. 4)SH---WILL HAVE SOME GOOD BALL PLAYERS AND THE JOSLIN KID IS BACK. 5)KARNS---BEAT JCHS WITH 1 KID LAST YEAR, AND A STUPID CALL. 6)BEARDEN--- NEW COACH, WITH IDEALS, NEW BRAND OF FOOTBALL. 7)JCHS---HAS LOST TO MUCH TO BE ABLE TO DO VERY WELL, GOOD TALENT, BUT VERY YOUNG. THE QUESTION IS WHO WILL SLIP UP AND LET JCHS BEAT THEM!
  2. The news coming out JC is that Shivy has transfered to Alcoa, and there may be some other kids getting ready to transfer, or just simply give it up.
  3. #1Tyler Step would play this year but he does not like what he see's in coach U! Believe me my info is good. He will be a good basketball player, and he is very good in track, but he could be a awesome football player, if he wanted to play for coach U. #2 I hurd over 2 week ago that Shevy, was considering going some where eles, with the main reason being coach U! The line was good last year but not great, coach U put the best O-linemen on D. Shevy is not worried about playing at Alcoa to play for a state champ. If he does well at the 5-A level, and make good grades, college ball will take care of it self. #3 Administration better wise up to coach U! #4 olan, and the boys from the Boro don't think we have kids in JC that have heart and want to work hard, but if they would look back at the past 30 years I believe they will discover JC records are better than Oaklands. 28 kids on a team that should have 80 or 90, coach U runs of some of the best talent from JC each year, You coach U fans better watch out he going to make a fool out of you. I feel sorry for the youngmen of JC that want to play football for a high school that was considered one of the best in the state for a long time.
  4. Most all of the talk has been about the QB, WO, and RB's, but for JC to win it will be the boys up front that make a difference. Who is playing the O & D line? The other postions I have not hurd much about is LB & DE, who are these guys and what are there height, weight and speed?
  5. JEFF CO. WILL HAVE 3 SR. TO WATCH FOR NEXT YEAR. 1) DREW STORY-RHP 3B OR 1B 6'2 210 MID - 80's FASTBALL GOOD JUNK 2) DALLAS CROUCH -OF, BATTED OVER 400 FOR THE SEASON, GREAT SPEED. 3) BEN TAYLOR-RHP-1B OR 3B --MID 80'S FASTBALL GOOD JUNK
  6. It does't matter to me but If Mo-town combind EAST & WEST, I believe Greenville would be in big trouble. As stated before Greenville HS has the run of the county. I might add the biggest County in east TN, If they combined all the north, south, west and Greenville High school the school would be hugh. Not to mention Chuck-Doak Most years the IMAC cannot produce a state champ in any of the big three sports. Greenville has had some good basketball teams in both boys and girls with in the last few years, but no state champ. JC is not fare behind but has made some great runs over the past 15 years, most years they could not get by Sevier Co, who alot of those years won the state. In football West & Greenville have had some good teams but they can't beat Maryville most years. They also are in 4-A not 5-A with Jeff Co. so they do not have to play SH and DB. JC has fell on tough times in the late 90's and 2000'S. In the 80's they were the class of the region. In baseball, which JC is in the IMAC, Greenville has had some good teams lately however they general split with JC or maybe some other IMAC team. The IMAC still has a problem getting by DB and SH in baseball most every year. NO STATE CHAMP. Girls softball JCHS has been the top dog in the conf. for the past ten years, EAST has had some real good teams but each year fall short of JC. JC has been to the state with in the past two or three years but can't win the big one.
  7. Rules are rules and coach Froning made a big mistake, he seem to be a very good coach and he is interested his kids. With Halls losing the game, you would have like to have seen coach Polsten tell coach Froning good game but I know you broke the rules, but you beat us anyway. (1 OR 2 PITCHES DOES NOT MATTER)HALL SHOULD HAVE TAKEN THE LOSS, IT MAY COME BACK AND HURT THEM LATER. Halls is an outstanding team and could have overcome the loss anyway.
  8. HALLS, HALLS, HALLS 1) LARSEN-SIGNED WITH WALTER STATE AND COULD HAVE SIGNED WITH A BUNCH OF D-1 SCHOOL BUT HE WANTS TO GO PRO ASAP. (HE WILL BE DRAFTED THIS YEAR) 2) LOCKWOOD (ONLY A JUNIOR) COMMITTEED TO UT LAST WEEK 3) I CANNOT REMEMBER HIS NAME BUT ANOTHER PITCHER FROM HALLS SIGNED WITH CNC BEFORE THE SEASON. 4) PHIBBS-A JUNIOR WILL SIGN TO PITCH BY NEXT YEAR. 5) LAWSON-JR. WILL SIGN BY NEXT YEAR.
  9. JEFF CO WILL HAVE A GOOD TEAM NEXT YEAR, DREW STORY WILL RETURN TO HAVE A BIG SENIOR YEAR, HE WILL INCREASE THE SPEED ON HIS FASTBALL AND WITH THIS YEARS EXPIERENCE HE WILL ONLY GET BETTER. BEN TAYLOR WILL NOT BE FARE BEHIND HE HAS A GOOD FASTBALL AND VERY GOOD BREAKING STUFF. DALLAS CROUCH HAS OUTSTANDING SPEED AND A VERY GOOD BAT. ALL THREE OF THESE GUY SHOULD GET SCHOLARSHIP NEXT YEAR. EJ EVANS IS THE SLEEPER ON TH TEAM HAS THE BEST ARM ON THE TEAM, GOOD SPEED AND NEEDS TO MOVE TO CATCHER FOR HIS AND THE TEAMS SAKE, HE HAD AN OUTSTANDING SUMMER AND NEEDS TO WORK HARD TO MAKE THIS CLASS HAVE 4 COLLEGE BOUND PLAYERS. JOEY BELCHER IS A GOOD PITCHER WITH A GOOD FASTBALL AND GOOD JUNK. STEVE SOLAMAN ALSO COULD HELP A BUNCH, BUT HE WILL NEED TO PUT ALOT OF TIME AND WORK INTO BASEBALL WHILE PLAYING OTHER SPORTS. ZACK LONG AND NICK SHERIDAN, WILL START SOMEWHERE AND HAVE THE ABILITY AND EXPERIENCE TO DO VERY WELL, THEY WILL HAVE TO GROW UP FAST! THE ONLY PROBLEM I SEE IS THE OVER ALL TEAM HITTING, I DO NOT SEE THEM BEING ABLE TO PUT THE RUNS UP OF THIS PAST YEARS TEAM. HOWEVER THEY MAY BE A BETTER FIELDING TEAM. IT ONLY TAKES 1 RUN TO WIN IF YOU DON'T LET THE OTHER TEAM SCORE.
  10. LETS DROP THIS SUBJECT, MO EAST WILL CONTINUE TO STRUGGLE IN ALL SPORTS FOR SOMETIME TO COME, WHEN WAS THERE LAST CHAMPIONSHIP IN ANYTHING. THE WILL CONTINUE TO LOOK UP AT JC AND WEST.
  11. BIGCHIF, DRDB DO YOU GUYS REALLY THING DB IS THE ONLY SCHOOL IN THE STATE THAT CAME PLAY SPORTS! I HOPE THAT YOU UNDERSTAND THAT HALLS DID NOT LOSE ANYBODY OF OFF LAST YEARS TEAM THAT FINISHED 2ND IN THE STATE. IN FACT THEY ALSO HAD AN ALL-STATE SHORTSTOP MOVE IN FROM CLINTON WHO HAS PLAYED SUMMER BALL WITH MOST OF THIS TEAM EVERY SUMMER. THEY HAVE QUALITY PLAYERS AT EVERY POSITION, THEY ALSO HAVE 2 PITCHERS AS GOOD OR BETTER THAN DURAN (LOCKWOOD WILL BE NEXT YEAR PLAYER OF THE YEAR AND SIGN D-1 IN THE EARLY PERIOD & LARSON-BY THE WAY HE COULD HAVE GONE D-1 BUT HE WANTS TO GO PRO ASAP, HE TURNED DOWN D-I SCHOOLS AND HE HAS OUTSTANDING GRADES) THE OTHER 3 PITCHERS ARE VERY GOOD TO COMPLETE A STACKED PITCHING STAFF. ONE OTHER KID SIGNED WITH CNC IN THE EARLY SIGNING PERIOD. OBVIOUSLY DURAN HAD TO WAIT UNTIL KNOW TO GET A SCHOLARSHIP AT THE END OF THE SEASON, SOMETHING SOUNDS A LITTLE FISHY TO ME. IF HE WERE THAT GOOD HE WOULD HAVE GONE IN THE EARLY PERIOD. AS FOR THE FOOTBALL SCHOLARSHIP GIVE ME A BREAK! I DID ONLY WATCH ONE GAME THAT HE PLAYED IN BUT JC GAVE HIM FITS IN THAT GAME, HE COULD NOT COMPLETE A PASS AGAINST JC AND THEY WERE HORRIABLE IN THE DEFENSE BACKFIELD, ALL THEY DID IS BACK UP AND MAKE HIM THROW UNDER THE COVERAGE, AND THEY PUT PRESSURE ON HIM ALL NIGHT, HE LOOK LIKE A DANCING BEAR IN THE BACKFIELD, ANYWAY IF HE WAS THAT GOOD HE WOULD HAVE GOTTEN A SCHOLARSHIP TO SOME COLLEGE BUT HE DID NOT AND THAT THE BOTTOM LINE. HE IS AN OUTSTANDING HIGH SCHOOL BALLPLAYER, BUT BEFOR YOU GUYS GIVE HIME THE KEY TO THE CITY YOU MIGHT WANT TO SEE HOW WELL HE DOES IN COLLEGE, YOU KNOW IT ALL ABOUT HOW HARD HE WANTS TO WORK AND FROM WHAT I HAVE HURD THAT NOT SOMETHING HE CRAZY ABOUT. HALLS BY 5. BY THE WAY IF LARSON PITCHES YOU WILL SEE 90 PLUS ALL NIGHT.
  12. Obviousley you did not understand my post on Arencibia, I said he was an outstanding hitter and he had proven he could hit on the SEC level, but I have watched no less than 15 games this year, he is good catcher for a freshman. He is not fast either, talk to anyone down at UT and they will tell you he does not have great foot speed. I do not want to run down him at all, he is an outsatnding player, but as you have said Heath, he hits the ball ever well. Before you talk about his catching ability you might want to go watch him play, from my understanding on other post you have said, you are not even in town. Yes, Drew did play first base and third last summer on his summer league team. I do not see any problem with him playing first base, if he can block up behind the plate, I would think that would be an easy move. You know its probable the easiest position to play on the field.
  13. Drew did not have his best game at the plate, he was in to big of a hurry to get a hit. Duran, did a good job of setting him up. He has been in that position all year long and he has delivered the big hit. However I thought Drew did a super job behind the dish, DB never had anyone steel of off him, other than when Storie let one go in the dirt in front of the plate and out side, he did block it but it did get away from him just a little. There were a bunch of balls that were blocked up very well. It looked to me that the throw down to first base could have gone either way, and he also made a good play at the plate to tag out a DB runner. I would hope that 1 bad night at the plate would not make or brake a player. As for going to UT, Coach "D" has told Drew that he is coming to UT to pitch, however, he will be getting a chance to play first base and DH, as for his catching skills, they are as good or better than JP Arencibia (current catcher at UT). But JP has proven that he can hit the ball on the SEC level. Last years starting catcher at UT, Kelly Edmonds is probable the better catcher, and will probable still be drafted this year. He has had a very good year at the plate. If he does get drafted then Drew maybe the back-up catcher next year. As for Drew and Duran playing against each other in the next few years we will have to wait and see. There are a bunch of things that will have to happen for both of them to be impact player in the SEC. (Hard Work all summer) There is two thing for sure, KY does not beat UT in Baseball very often, and I do not remember KY ever going to the college World Series. Good Luck to Duran he is an oustanding player, and I hpoe for his sake that he does not have a bad game at the plate at some point. (You better get ready for Halls) they can play the game very well.
  14. DZ, DOES NOT REALLY MATTER, AND YES YOU HAVE GIVEN BOWLIN A BUNCH OF GOOD PROPS DURING THE YEAR, BUT IF YOU WILL GO BACK TO THE JCHS GIRLS BASKETBALL POST DURING THE TOURNMENT, YOU WERE TALKING TO JOHNNEY STRICKOUT, AND YOU SAID THAT HE BETTER BE ABLE TO CONTINUE TO HIT WEAK HOME RUNS, BEACUSE BOWLIN COULD NOT BE COUNTED TO CARRY THE WATER COOLER TO THE FIELD! YOU MIGHT WANT TO CHECK IT OUT BEFORE YOU GET BACK WITH ME. I BELIEVE THAT JCHS HAD 2 OR 3 SCRIMMAGES IN BASEBALL BY THAT TIME. YOU ALSO MAY WANT TO CHECK OUT THE HITTING STATS THAT JUST CAME OUT FOR JCHS, BOWLIN HAS ONLY 5 STRICKOUTS ON THE YEAR, (BEST ON THE TEAM) NOT WHAT I WOULD CONSIDER AN EASY OUT OR FREE SWINGER. THANKS FOR ALL THE PROPS DURING YEAR. NO PROBLEM ON MY END! HOPE JCHS ROLLS TONIGHT. I'LL SEE YOU THERE.
