They're saving him for the 6A NET Super Bowl (October 27)
They put him in after halftime and it was a brand new offense. Good arm and he’s got guys to throw it to. -
I knew there would be a bit of a drop off, but my God.

If 16 plays QB for the toppers they will name their score. Why was he not the starter against Maryville?
-
#1 should be good to go Friday, at least based on what I was told.
I'll be shocked if #7 isn't back for the playoffs.

I didn’t think that kid got in the game last night, but I could have missed it. I thought that was his older brother who caught that ball.
You are right. I keep getting them mixed up in my mind.

What's more impressive is Maryville has another stud freshmen quarterback
And if I am correct was the one who caught the pass on 3rd and a mile?

Looks like the freshman is the man at QB. Great running by 93.
I’ve been trying to tell y’all.

The two best running backs in this group are 7th graders.
One is out for season with injury. The other decided to play rec league again this year. The one in rec league is going to be as good as any that have come through here.
They'll be ok.
-
They’ll be all right in the long run.
But glad to see a real life 3yearletterman gives his take here.

Junior High beat Alcoa last night.

That was a beat down.
And Central beat Fulton by 30?

Not that I think about it your right, I just remember it being a similar time frame of what your predicting
I'm kind of shocked. When it first happened I immediately thought done for year.

Is it an injury similar to what Derrick Henry had a few years ago?
His is ankle, not foot. I think that's what Henry's was anyway.

Lots of good memories on that field going back to a kid. Two hardest hit I've ever seen at any level of the game happened there.
But, if you get the right turf it's not a problem. And it's got to be safer that the cow pasture I played on when I was there.

My personal prediction, as of this morning - #7 will be back the week after the BYE.

PrepXtra not accurate?
Shocking.
Gannett has completely screwed to pooch.
I just know the family says there is a chance he’ll play again this year. I’m as shocked as anybody and still don’t expect him to, but they haven’t wavered.

Family has not given up hope for this year. I guess they’ll know more tomorrow.

if anyone would like to leave their feedback that would be great. my son plays youth football and has for 2 years in knox co. both coaching staffs waste about an hour being the QB throwing 30 yard passes 100 MPH. which is a waste of time because no 7 or 8 year old can do that. and the systems have been different each year. the coaches seem like guys who just came together and said we will take a crack at this. coaches and players show up late. it’s just very unorganized. I know maryville&alcoa have had the same coaches and system and have a curriculum for kids to learn. last year coaches would take breaks and smoke cigarettes in front of kids. has it always been this way & why? my son plays linebacker and they always have him and another kid lined up on one side, leaving the left side wide open for big plays. they run out of shotgun which leads to cost less fumbles, and practice ‘scoop&score’ as if that’s something that should be practiced for 30 mins
They do?
News to me.

Hoping Gage’s injury isn’t as bad as I fear it is.

Heritage take credit cards or will I need cash?

Some associated with the program say that they'll be ok, and some close to it think that they could be in for a long year. For most of the fans, the jury is still out...season begins with Scotts Hill, so it could be another week or two before we really know where either team stands. Lions should be better than recent years, but not really a situation where either team can use the other as a measuring stick. Only one thing for sure, is that the coach for either team won't need a motivational speech!
The jury out is what I figured. Usually the years they do the best coaching job even if there is an early season loss or two than leaves you dumbfounded.

Dead quiet so far. What are expectations for 23?
Will Maryville make a change this offseason?
in Class 5A & Class 6A

They are 4-3 with 3 losses totaling 16 points in what was known to be a potential "down" year anyway.
The kid the entire team was built around has been injured since week 1 and they are playing a freshman at QB.
Are there things I don't understand, especially on defense? Yes.
Ideal? No. But sheesh.
