  1. Harb may be fairly slow, but he didn't run the 40 at the Nike Camp. Numerous players that feel the 40 run or the bench press would hurt them choose not to do that part of the combine.
  2. According to the News-Sentinel, Harb passed for 190 yards and was 21 of 28. CAK rushed for 82 yards (17 carries) and Bowland had the majority of those yards. He also made the last TD on a 19 yard run. Both of those players- as well as the whole team- looked much better than in the drumming last week. The defense had trouble holding Johnson County's running attack (they rushed for 175 yards), but twice held firm when Johnson Co. was 4th and 1 on the goal line and kept them from scoring, which was fantastic. The paper also said Joseph Bennett had 22 tackles and he seemed to be instrumental in the 4th qtr. in firing up the defense and making some awesome stops to keep them from getting back in the game. A good game and a timely victory for the Warriors.
  3. #41, Bowland, is a junior. Tough losing a game like that. Probably the sloppiest game CAK played all year - too many uncalled for fouls, turnovers, etc. - despite the very questionable officiating (64 yds. in penalties vs. 10 for Oneida), we gave that game to you. We are a much better team than we showed last night and we will be back and ready to roll in 2A next year! I am proud of the way these players on the boards are handling themselves - wish the parents and fans could do the same.
  4. right, Yoakley is one of the best athletes in single A football in East Tn and when you say Harb wouldnt be as good in another system. Do you mean a system where all the QB does is hand the ball off instead of making reads and throwing the ball like a real QB does? Thanks for that accurate reply. Yoakley is a player above players- no one is tougher and he will always give 110%. The 1st guy is right that Harb wouldn't be as good in another system (where he would hand it off all the time or run it himself) because his strength is definitely his passing ability. He has a rocket arm that is usually quite accurate. He and the rest of the team will improve with experience. Ditto the penalty question - quite a lot of vocal response from the CAK side! It was awful!
  5. That cracks me up that they said CAK is recruiting! And Harb?! He had never played a down of tackle football in his life until 8th grade when he was the JV QB and they got smeared every game and he had his collarbone broke in the last game. He laid off football to play golf in 9th grade, but went back to it last year. If CAK was going to recruit someone, it wouldn't have been someone with as little experience as him! Ditto for the other players...many of the boys already at CAK just saw what the team did last year and wanted to be a part of it. 3/4ths of them had little to no experience playing football. They sure weren't around when CAk was 3-8! It is a great thing to have the coaches we do, tho. They make a ton of difference.
  6. CAK's opponents already know to look out for Trey Bowland; he has been outstanding since his freshman year (in the top 5 rushers in KIL as a 9th grader). Harb probably was a bit shaky since it was his first-ever football start, but had 6 TD passes and some 335+ yards (and only 1 interception) passing in 3 quarters, so not too shabby. Hopefully the next 2 weeks of preparation before a big Greenback game will help all around.
  7. They play Christian Academy of Knoxville Saturday at 7 at Washington Hills Rec. in Chattanooga
