Last years Oaks Christian team was very talented, but they almost choked in the title game against Newman. Canyon would've beat them last year at the end....they were playing much better. I don't think they would've run over Hoover, either. Hoover lost to two powerhouse teams last year, Prattville(state championship game) and Curtis from LA. That Curtis team had McKnight last year and was one of the top five teams in the country. So, those were not bad losses. Also, MBA and Brentwood Academy have already played some decent teams in Kentucky and Mississippi, respectively. MBA beat and lost to Trinity from Louisvile in recent years past and Brentwood Academy beat Meridian,MS last year. Meridian was Mississippi's state runner-up last year. MUS did get crushed by Nease,FL, but MUS was way down when they played them. Also, remember that Riverdale whipped a good Ohio team at their place so bad that Kilbourne didn't want to play Riverdale at their place the next year.
In reality, though, only a handful of TN public school teams could hang with other power states. Maryville, for sure, and teams such as Riverdale,Smyrna, Alcoa, and a few others. I have lived all over the U.S. in the military and everywhere I go I make it a point to check out the top area teams where I'm at. In my opinion(and it's just MY opinion) Carroll of Southlake,TX is far and away the best team I have personally seen play live.
Go Oak Ridge Wildcats!!!!
