Most county school use Alternative Schools in these situations. I could see where good athletes ,that are in trouble , would choose to go to a private school (if admitted) than go to alternative school and not play sports.

To give you a little background Would you mind giving us a "little background" on the big Hood kid and how he couldn't get in a knox county school but could be accepted at Catholic? Are their admission standards less than Knox County?

Don't be too sure that the kid from Central will be the QB at Catholic next year. They are looking at a kid from Powell and he is very good.

Remeber this is Catholic High School not Catholic University. I don't know of any parent that would pay someone elses tuition, that like the comments being made about KCHS, would be asinine. Ok follow this logic. I know of Cathoilc boosters that have been asked to donate alot of money to build/upgrade facilities. Would it not make sense to "give" only $7,000 for a stud athletes tuition instead of $15,000 for something else? If it is within TSSAA guidelines (which I think it is- loophole) why not donate $ and help a kid and your program at the same time?

So it is within TSSAA guidelines to get a "loan" to pay for your tuition... even if you never pay it back? That's pretty smart on Catholic's part!! Sounds like a huge loophole to me.

I heard today that several Fulton football players were arrested for a gang related incident. Anyone else heard this?

Isn't the Arnett boy the underclass heir apparent? My son played with him years ago and he was pretty good.

I am certain he will be even more nervous playing in front of RebelRon. The Rebels won't blitz as much so they will not injury their future QB. Maryville by 50 unless Quarles goes to his JV early in the 2nd half ..maybe 2nd quarter.

If Powell plays like they did last Friday night they will win. 2-0 sounds pretty good but much tougher games lie ahead!

Powell wins big at CC and it looks like Ron's boy had a rough start. Powell has a chance for the playoffs if they play like they did tonight.

CAK took it to Powell in the Jamboree and beat Boyd in their first game. Both teams are down this year. This will be their real first challenge.

Don't count the Panthers out just yet. They have been working hard since the jamboree and could surprise the Cougars.
