  1. Well Friday night was more like it, 42-7 over Science Hill. JCHS had their head screwed on right this week. Just like Georgia, you can mentally be dead and someone will kick your butt regardless of where you are rated. Great game guys!!!! You played your game, the game you are capable of every Friday night. Like I remind one of your players before each game, use your strongest muscle, use your head, get your mind into the game be mentally prepared. As you have found out this year, you can't beat other teams 30-40 points in the locker room or before you have even gone out on th e field. Practice all week like you are the under dog and WANT IT worse than the other guy. And play that way. Go PATRIOTS!!!! reido
  2. everybody get off their butts and come to the game Friday night against Science Hill. these young men need all the support that we can muster. Luther had a great game, Red had a good game ,as usual Zach Smiley had his good game, Big Scott had a real good game, the secondary were pretty stingy. The play that didn't work, has worked a dozen times in practice, Stuff happens. It would be great if we got a few breaks and our season would be 5-1 or maybe 6-0. see everybody tonight at 7:30 in Dumplin Valley. Get there early and watch the guys warm up and help get them fired up. GO PATRIOTS! reido
  3. I've definitely got a different opinion. Meadows was good, but he had more "STARS", Marty doesn't go for the star CRAP. No I in Team. These kids didn't know how to utilize their time in practice, beside the STARS, other players figured what the heck I'm not going to get to play. I had my doubts since the start this year, listening to the boys talk and whine about how hard practice was, the yes sir no sir stuff, the discipline, (absolutely no discipline the last 3 years). Also the reason one player went to another school. But, I am truly impressed with Marty. The respect these kids have developed for the coaching staff and THEMSELVES. It's working big time. It's unanimus everyone has made comments about how far the kids have come in such a short time under Marty, and they continue to improve each week. The expression in their faces after each game (win or lose) when Marty says, "let me see your eyes, let me see your eyes up here" shows the difference in this TEAM. I compliment Marty and Smoot, Anderson, Brimmer, Messy, Piping---,McCash they have done an outstanding job in a short time with a very confused (due to so many coaching changes in 3 years),average group of guys that had the potential to do something great with the right direction. Let me step off the soap box a minute. I do wish we would utilize the pass more, I agree,if a team stops our run we bog down. Diversity is not bad. Go Patriots!!!!
  4. Guys, I can't stand it. Can anyone say anything about Jeff Co kicking game? This is the first year in the 5-8 that I've been acquainted with the team that anyone could punt the ball more than 30 yards, much less get a decent long snap.
  5. People need to keep an eye on Chris Shivedecker, this kid is good. if he was 2-3 steps faster he would be WOW!!! Different people in Jeff Co have told me all along that if he kept progressing like he has since middle school, that we would forget Scooter Houston. Scoot was very good but Shiv has got some moves and can change direction on a dime, and trust me he can take a lick. I've only seen him get up slow on one play so far this year, and he gets hit about 6 times on each carry before the defense gets him down.
  6. as i read through the chat on the rhea co scores i noticed the comment about the punter fumbled the ball, i believe if you were at the game you would have seen the ball roll back on the ground, the punter scrambled to try and recover it and had 4 people on top of him and managed to help trip the rhea co defensive player up. also later in the game another land mine bounced once before the punter got the ball, and again with 3-4 rhea co players on him managed a 41 yd punt which also resulted in a roughing the punter call. seems as though jeff co needs practice at long snaps.
  7. hey guys this is my first time on the chat forum. a large problem jeff co has had for at least 4 years is they haven't had a long snapper. rhea co recovering the bowling ball punt snap in the 2nd quarter led to a score, another gopher for an extra point attempt and another for a field goal try, oh i almost forgot the snap over pewitt's head in the shot gun late in the game. in last years campbell co. game they blocked a punt attempt because the snap was 3 feet over jeff co punters head and scored in the first 3 minutes of the game. this is the same punter that averaged 46-48 yds per kick this past fri night. he was put on the bench the remainder of the year because last years X coach told him he wasn't consistant enough. seems to me you have to have consistant long snaps before you can have any type of consistant kicking game. trust me after rhea co, jeff co is working on more conditioning, they ran yesterday until their tongues were hanging out.
