  1. Mt Juliet clear #1 over the last 10 years...before Purvis they weren't even close to what they are now. They continue to have the most talent. Hendersonville clear #2 with 4 state tournament appearances and lots of kids going to college and right now prob the most complete and solid coaching staff. Wilson Central to me is next. Coach Ford does a good job of making players better and getting them to college but they've never been to state. Beech has had great records but never has won the big games. And honestly they were carried by Hansen for at least two years. When you look at programs you look at where and who would you want your son to play for....right now in 9AAA would have to be Mt Juliet, Hendersonville and then Wilson Central can't see any other way you could answer this question.
  2. Mt. Juliet 9 White House 1 5 homers from Mt. Juliet including two from catcher Ryan Hill. Very solid outing from Cotham and good defense behind him. #11 Whittaker pitched for White House....Blue Devils were never really in the game after giving up three in the first. On the way home stopped by Beech and they were walking off the field shaking hands with LaVergne...looked like LaVergne won 7-4. Anyone with details of this game. Also during our game heard H'ville beat Wilson Central 5-1. Who pitched for Wilson Central, Hoban or Alsup????
  3. Mt. Juliet 4 Beech 1 Well pitched game both pitchers McAdams and Shao. Homer from Ryan Hill helped put it away. According to another thread...White House 3 Gallatin 0 Sullins WP for White House. Appearantly he has mended fences with his coach after being suspended earlier in the week for a loss to Beech. Anyone know current standings???
  4. Just about all the Murfreesboro schools usually have true 9th grade teams....Mt. Juliet has one this year that is very good.
  5. Anyone have any results from this weekends tournament at Brentwood...I heard Wilson Central beat Overton and lost to Red Bank. Anyone have any more?
  6. Hats off to Oakland for a great game Friday night...it was a great atmosphere! Hopefully MJ can right the ship tonight at Siegel
  7. What happend to their coach??? They have a new one this year I've heard.
  8. Blue...I'll take your word for it.. we were going by what we were told when we pulled up by an old man from Gallatin. Like I said, we got cold and decided to go eat at one of the fine establisments in Gallatin and watch basketball.
  9. Mt. Juliet beat Lebanon and Mt. Juliet and Gallatin were just getting ready to start but we got too cold and left. Friendship was at Hendersonville today...was that part of this tournament? Who won?
  10. This was by far the best game I have seen Mt. Juliet play all year. Wilson Central just didn't seem to have an answer, but it wouldn't have matter tonight the way Mt. Juliet played. Even though this game got out of hand, you would be hard pressed to find four better girls teams in one district anywhere. It was a great District tournament and well run by Wilson Central. Congrats again to MJ and we'll be routing for you all the way.
  11. No one has more big hits to win games or hits the ball harder day in and day out than Ryan Hill of MJ would rather have him at the plate with the game on the line that Shao any day, just ask Beech from last years district tournament. He is the scariest hitter in 9AAA. Mooney can swing it for Smyrna. Heard one of the Sullins boys quit at White House. Hendren will be a threat for Beech as well as Matt Lyle. Cook can leave the yard at any time for Gallatin as can LaVergne's outfielder Willie. Hendersonville doesn't have anyone that scares you but they have 1-9 that can get a clutch hit at any time, something in Old Hickory Lake water I guess. Hicks is a solid hitter for Wilson Central but will they have anyone to protect him?
  12. #1 seed plays the earliest game possible to give them the most rest before their next game as an advantage.

    District 9 AAA

Don't be so quick to count Gallatin out of anything. They have solid pitching and really hard working coaches at this time. Look for LaVergne to be better than last year as well. Going in it looks like MJ will be the team to beat, but in case you are new to this district you better learn to never count out any one of Coach Hendrix's teams at Hendersonville. I don't see them being a powerhouse, but I did see them play this summer and fall and they will be good as they usually are. Probably the best defensive team I saw this fall, which is unusal for H'ville. All that being said, our boys at MJ are still the team to beat though. 1. MJ 2. H'ville 3. Beech 4.Gallatin 5.Smyrna 6.Wilson Central 7. LaVergne 8. White House
  14. HH17, Move to the Hendersonville or Beech are instead of Station Camp. Beech has a better basketball program at this time, Hendersonville may be closing the gap there though. For swimming, Hendersonville has tremendous program year in and year out. Very close friend of the family was there as a senior last year. She was an All-american and now is swimming at Florida. Wouldn't send my worst enemy to Station Camp at this time. It may be a good school in the future for athletics, but not right now. Good Luck.
  15. JEFF B, I am glad to hear the positive post from their last game, maybe they are learning. I do not agree that all of the teams that they are playing against and scoring 100+ points against are poorly coached and not good, when you consider that they scored over 100 against Gallatin, Beech and Hendersonville.
  16. Also, unless you are a coach with a huge ego or a player who never did anything at the varsity level, you have to remember that no one will ever care what your record was or what you did as a Freshman. Although it is very important to these girls as Freshmen, it won't be important to them at all after this year!
  17. First of all, the MJ Freshmen girls are very talented and have been playing together for a long time. Not a lot of coaching had to be done with this group when they got to the ninth grade. They are also catching a lot of teams that have several girls pulled up and not playing at the Freshmen level, at a time when MJ really has no where to put good Freshmen as they are obviously loaded at the varsity level. Thirdly, I don't believe in telling kids not to score. I do believe in dropping into a 2-3 zone and not running out on a steal when you are up by a margin when you feel comfortable the game is out of reach. Maybe Coach Sharpe doesn't feel comfortable when up by 40+?! I don't have a dog in the fight anymore but I have seen these girls play. There is no reason to press and try to score 100 points which seems to be their goal every night. It will do two things, make people not want to schedule you anymore and remember, it may not be today and it may not be tomorrow and it may be at a different school, but what goes around always comes around. I would be interested to know their scores from all year. I have seen the Lebanon game which we know the score of and the Gallatin game which they won 116-26.
  18. It depends on two things...No. 1, is your high school summer team going to go out and play against good people in good tournaments and No. 2 is your high school coach going to take it seriously. You need look no further than Riverdale, Oakland, Hendersonville, Goodpasture, Germentown, Collierville, Houston, Columbia, Coffee Co. to see that good high school programs that keep their kids together and have the guts to go out and play anybody anywhere in the summer, reap the benefits in the spring. These schools are just a few of the examples of teams you see all over the place in the summer working for the next year and their head and assistant coaches work hard for their kids. Some of them aren't around this spring to see the state tournament, but I can bet you they are already working towards summer and next spring. If done right, staying together is great, again I say, if done right.
  19. I guess the extra day because of "rain" was good for Rossview's pitcher. Both guys threw well tonight for both teams. Congratulations to Rossview and Dickson Co. Region 5AAA will certainly have new representation this year. Wow, No Mt. Juliet, Oakland, Riverdale, Hendersonville, Brentwood, Germantown Houston, Henry Co. Some of these teams didn't make it out of their districts. Just one of those years!
  20. We still need a Beech/Wilson Central score??????????
  21. Any word from Smyrna/LaVergne, Beech/Wilson Central????
  22. Let's have some scores... H'ville 2 White House 6 Mt. Juliet 6 Gallatin 5 Beech/Wilson Central Smyrna/LaVergne

Scoreboard has LaVergne 6 Beech 1...posted on May 3, same as where these others scores are. Can anyone confirm this score?

    9AAA Tuesday

Everyone plays today and tomorrow with seedings still to be determined for this weekend's tournament...White House and Mt. Juliet will host after Mt. Juliet beat H'ville tonight 3-1. Cliff Hardy threw the ball well for MJ. H'ville threw a left-hander that kept the MJ hitters off balance all night. Big homers from Ryan Hill and Taylor Bates to keep MJ at home for the district tournament. With the win MJ locks up the #2 seed and could still finish first with some help. Need scores from: Beech/LaVergne, White House/Gallatin, Wilson Central/Smyrna
  25. Who will White House pitch?? Look for Hardy, Cotham or a combination of both for MJ...I think H'ville threw McClurg on Friday so I doubt anyone will see him until the tournament.
