Wow the talking begins. Mt. Pleasant contratulations on knocking us out of the playoffs. Ya'll really have a talented team and hope you represent region 6 well. I think you are in the drivers seat with a win against Jo Byrns. they are talented but I'm not sure if there better than Mt. Pleasant. Good luck at the Mr. Football award Marco.

I am not a Mt. Pleasant fan but having that attitude will get hurt you in the playoffs big time. I hop you don't but if you do beat Wayne Co. Friday night you can not!! have that going into Jo Byrns because they are a solid football team. If a determined team that don't have the image of losing on their minds shows up against that team, they are beatable. So coaches if you are reading this. You must make it clear that the thoughts of next year should not happen till you are officially eliminated. Good luck and no matter what the outcome go region 6 but in this one , Go Cats....

This game will be different that the first meeting this year as long as the focused and determined Waynce Co. team comes out, which I believe they are out for good now. We have had an up and down year and I think things are starting to click at the right time for us. Just like I said last week, study film, come up with a good scheme, and practice hard and it will pay off Friday night . Go Cats....

Back to the comment earlier. I do give Cascade credit. What an awesome season they had. Wayne Co. may not beat them, I was just hoping so. It should be a really good game Friday though. And Jo Byrns I give all the credit in the world too. I think that they a really tough football team. Our region champion Mt. Pleasant is no push over either though. If it comes down to Mt. Pleasant against Jo Byrns what a game it will be. On the other hand, good luck to everyone Friday night and Go Cats!!

I am going out on a limb here but I think you will see the Wayne Co. team that we should have seen all season come out Friday night. We would sure like another shot at that great Mt. Pleasant team in the second round because Forrest is just a bump in the road for them. Here is my prediction Wayne Co 33 Cascade 30

If the right Wayne County team shows up this will be a goood game. Wayne Co. looked horrible against Collinwood and looked excellent in the second half of the TCA game. I just hope to see the team that showed up at Huntland earlier in the year. I hope practice is intense this week and the guys come out to play ball in the playoffs. Remember seniors this is you last game if you lose.Let's not end it here. I would like to see a rematch against Mt. Pleasant in the second round. If Collinwood and Columbia Academy win, Collinwood is second, Columbia Academy is third, and Wayne County is fourth. Wayne Co. showed they could play with a really good team Friday night. Collinwood you may be in for more than you expect. I sure would like to be at home in round # 1. I smell some Trojans hitting the road to Jo Byrns or Cascade for a season ending game. WC- 26 Collinwood- 22 woooooooooooooooo!!!

I thought it was a really fantastic game last night. Trinity showed a really good passing game. Wayne County to battle back and not give up shows that our guys give 100 percent each game. I think we may give Collinwood a handful Friday night. It is a much needed win because the loser travels to the loser of the Cascade vs. Jo Byrns game in round 1 on the playoffs. The winner more than likely will play Forrest

Perry County is a much improved team from last year. Wayne county has to minimize their turnovers. They almost got us against Moore Co. This game means a lot to both teams but I think Wayne Co. has more depth on the roster and a solid defense that usually comes through when the offense is struggling. My prediction is Wayne Co. - 20 Perry Co. - 15

Th win against Huntland not only puts us back in the playoff hunt but if we win out in the region( moore co,c'wood, and Pc) it would mean a #2 spot in the region which would be huge going into the playoffs. good luck team and keep up the good work on defense and offense and let's look forward to Moore Co.

I'm not sure what the arguement is but Friendship is the best team in the state and that is pretty obvious. Rickaway is Mr. Football and Collinwood couldn't hang in week one ,now or the playoffs against them. They beat ya'll 28-0 SO I wouldn't argue with the C spokesman. I am a die Wayne Co. fan but when tyhe proof is there ,theres nothing to argue or talk about when it comes to Friendship and C'wood because Friendship is the better team.

This ought to be a great game to watch Friday night. Collinwood's only loss came to #1 ranked Friendship Christian. I think this will come down to the fourth quarter. I know Mt. PLeasant has a lot of players banged up and that might play in effect also but the home field advantage is extremely important. Mt. Pleasant is amazing at home. I pick them to beat Collinwood Mt. Wayne County had a great second half against Mt. Pleasant but it was way to late. Wayne County is now in a must win situation against Huntland to keep their playoff hopes alive. Come out and get us this big win thatwe must have.Good luck team.It will be a tough battle because Huntland is in the same situation.

Wayne County needs abig rebound to overcome the Ca loss and I think they will be prepared tonight. I think Mt. Pleasant is the regions strongest team and the only way to beat them is force some turnovers and mimize offensive turnovers.If Wayne Co. wins the turnover battle, I pick them by 7. If not, I say Mt. Wayne County looked really good against Cornesville.The offense could have been a little better but the guys played really well.Great defensive performance.The flaw I see at Wayne Co. is the time it takes them to run a play.It would be much easier to rotate receivers in to call the play other than the quarterback running to the sidelines each play wearing him out. I pick Wayen County to beat Ca 28-14 Good Luck Cats!!

Wayne County did get beat 18-0 by a good playoff 2a team Lewis County which will probally win their region. Collinwood is no where near as good as they think they are. Waynesboro plays Zion Academy tonight which may not prove anything but it is a great game to run plays and learn what will work and be successful all season. I take Wayne County as the # 1 or maybe 2 seed in the region. Mt. Pleasant is good but beatable this year.The Wayne Co. Defense is looking pretty good this year. Lets see some offense tonight.

I hate to say it but I pick C'wood in this one because Loretto is to inconsistent. Collinwood felt the wrath of the #1 1a team in the state Friday night and will bounce back at home this week CW- 28 Loretto- 14

THank God that football season is back. What a way to start off the season Wayne Co. @ lewis Co. Lewis County proved to be solid by beating Hickman county is week zero.Waynesboro with a new coaching staff looks really good on defense and has a decent offense that can score and hold their own. I'm looking for this one to come down to the wire as it has the last two years. Hopefully it wont rain like it did at the end of last years game. I thinnk Wayne County will slightly pull this first road game on the season into a win with a predicted score of: Wc-21 Lc- 20

Greenman --no surprise in your predictions this year. Unfortunately you are never right anyway. You would pick Collinwood over the tennessee Vols. I think the region will be very competitive this year and Collinwood will definately be a playoff team but a region champ...come on Waynesboro's Cale Butler has a great arm and If they get a pass and run mix, everyone knows Region6-1A can't defend the passing game. If they can mix there offense up like that and have the defense guessing,they could be a possible 1 or 2 seed in th region Mount Pleasant will be tough but somethng tells me they will have a weakness somewhere.Maybe stopping the pass? Collinwood is always fast,strong,and are good in the clutch. They are a possible 3 or 4 seed in my eyes I llok for Moore County and Columbia Academy to lock up a playoff spot also. Huntland has lost a lot and I do not think they will be very competitive. Maybe better that Pc,Zion,and Cornersville.

Here is the truth. Rick Rice is the new coach. He had trouble finding a teaching job but will be the alternative school teacher. I talked to him personally. Good luck Rick and we are glad to have you back.

Rick's assistant @ Perry County will be taking over the head coaching duties.His name is Bronson Bradley. Bronson is a Wayne Co. graduate and was a great player.He should make Perry County a great coach. I sure they need an assistant coach as does Waynesboro.

I am very happy to see Rick back in Waynesboro. The trouble was finding him a teaching position but I guess that have made him one. I played under Rick in high school and he is an excellent coach. coach Crews and Pierce will be greatly missed but Rick is the perfect replcement and we are very excited to have him back home. Look out 6-1A , Waynesboro is back again.
