After watching the Dogs fall again tonight to the former winless South Doyle, The saddest thing was not only watching the Players, who played hard all night, lose but knowing that they are a much better team than what they are preforming up to. Bearden is a program heading in the wrong direction. 1-7 right now. Any Dog fans out there have any ideas as to what can be done to turn this around? By the way I just want to say that there was one bright moment out there tonight. When the QB for bearden went down hurt and missed a few plays, he was the first on the sidelines patting the Freshman qb on the back when he came in one series and did a great job. From where I was sitting this looked like a first class kid we have playing qb at bearden.

Put him on suicide watch... if you went 5-5 youd have a great year with that list of teams.

Throw Chad Johnson rb (Kingston) somewhere on that list. Not by far the best rb around but deserves to be on top 15 list.

As a longtime fan of football. I have come to realize that a great game can happen at any level between any 2 teams at any given time. When looking for a Great game to watch I have found this happens when 1 it is a big rivalary 2 when both teams are in a must win situation 3 both teams are very good. and 4 when both teams are not very good but think that they have a chance to win a game which in each others mind will make their season. in this case Bearden has the opportunity to go from a potential 1-9 season to a 2-8 season. 2 wins always sounds better than 1 win. and SD has the potential to get a win this year. i gaurentee you that both teams believe that no matter what this game is theirs to win cause they are better than the other. Because of this belief from both teams this is shaping up to be a great game.

I agree with you possom. Three games a week is way to much. I keep waiting till a player we have to have on friday night gets hurt in a JV game. Then were really hurting.

Eager. I believe you are right about the quarter thing. 6 in a week. On the other hand I will neither confirm nor deny what your saying. I will say that if it is true that it would be about par for the course this season.

Your right. But everyone keeps telling me that Maynard is a defensive genious... I think that part of our problem is that our kids are tired. I had it pointed out to me tonight that we have some kids that have played in 8,9, and even one kid 12 quarters of football this week. from the freshman game to the Jv to the varsity. This cant be good on keeping some of our starters fresh. Oh well you guys have a great team up there. good luck the rest of the year. You made a believer out of me.

Im seeing in Campbell county what highschool football is all about. I remember on friday afternoons the town, I grew up in and all the area towns around it, would shut down and EVERYBODY would go to the local game. Football is LIFE down there. FINALLY somewhere up here has that attitude. and im Proud to see it. Win or lose you guys have had a great season and hope you can build on it next year. Like the man said they are 6-1 and like some other schools in the area who finally have a winning season (ccchs) they are handling it like a team who has been there before. Keep on goin rebels.

Give them some cleats to wear to school and let them finally do what most teams did 50 years ago ( win a couple of games) and the world ends. On the bright side. If you guys make the playoffs, the coaches might let you keep your cleats so you dont have to go to school barefooted the rest of the year.

Look at the combined record of the teams you have played and the teams we have played. You havent played any good teams yet. Sure Sevier won the state a few years ago but their down this year. The good thing is that come tomorrow night. we can put the Kitty cats to rest! since then we will be on our week half of the schedule. Who knows we may win 4 in a row and act like we are the best team in the state.

The coaches came in monday and made sweeping changes and plans. Players really pumped up. Were not gona run in circles this week chasing our stubby tails anymore. This week nothing but Kitty soup. besides when your at the next to bottom, why not just have a little optimism. we can only go up from here... GO DOGS

lets take the around about approach to this. we beat Karns, who beat JC and also beat Sevier. so in my book that means we have a good chance to beat those 2. Should beat SD. Way i see it, If we can beat the Kitty's this week, and SD next week we should have enough momentum to carry us through JC and Sevier. Thus = playoffs for Bearden
