  4. I know I have seen many comments on here concerning which region is the toughest etc. On The Ball magazine, October issue, did a break down of all regions, all classes. The category points are accumulated from the last seven years and they scored all teams as follows, PA=Playoff Appearances PW=Playoff Wins QA=Quarterfinal Appearances SA=Semifinal Appearances FA=Final Appearances FW=Final Wins Region 4-5A finishing order; Riverdale 7 PA 27 PW 7 QA 6 SA 5 FA 2 FW Team Total Points= 54 Smyrna 7 PA 10 PW 2 QA 1 SA 1 FA 1 FW Team Total Points= 22 Oakland 4 PA 3 PW 1 QA 0 SA 0 FA 0 FW Team Total Points= 8 Blackman 2 PA 3 PW 1 QA 0 SA 0 FA 0 FW Team Total Points= 6 Lebanon 4 PA 1 PW 0 QA 0 SA 0 FA 0 FW Team Total Points= 5 LaVergne 2 PA 1 PW 0 QA 0 SA 0 FA 0 FW Team Total Points= 3 Wilson Central 2 PA 1 PW 0 QA 0 SA 0 FA 0 FW Team Total Points= 3 Siegel 0 PA 0 PW 0 QA 0 SA 0 FA 0 FW Team Total Points= 0 5A Statewide Regional finishing order; Region Total Points 4 101 6 86 8 83 2 81 7 70 5 55 1 53 3 38 Region 4-5A led every points category except playoff appearances, 5th in that category. So when Region 4-5A says their teams play in the tooughest region in the state, as of this year they are correct. On The Ball normally just covers the mid state area so other regions can get some information on this story at On The Ball Magazine The actual magazine has more info than the website though.

  12. Congratulations to both teams for making it to the Championship game. I really hope to make it to the game tonight but either way, I just want to say GOOD LUCK Bulldogs. LaVergne (and hopefully) all of Rutherford County is rooting for you to bring the championship back to RC.
  13. Regardless of what everyone is saying about both teams, I really hope to see a great game Friday night with no injuries for either team. If LaVergne loses then I will continue to root for a Region 4 team to go all the way and win state. I hope LaVergne's postseason continues after this week but that is up to the young men on the field to execute their game plan and get it done. Good Luck to the Wolverines
  14. I understand that on the coacht boards, Smyrna sounds like the underdogs but if you listened to any of the post game talk shows last week, pretty much everybody was calling LaVergne the underdog but it should be a good game because of the rival teams meeting in the playoffs. In fact, Murphy Fair said in his interview with 104.5 after last weeks games that speculated Smyrna to be about a 2 TD favorite in this game but the bitter rivalry would make for a great game. Personally I think all the players from both teams should stay away from these boards this week and concentrate on getting ready for the game this Friday. If you really love playing football and you have a playoff game coming up against your biggest rival, you shouldn't need to come on here looking for or posting anyway "bulletin board" material to get fired up for the game. DISCLAIMER This is the opinion of the poster and not necessarily that of staff or management. LOL Good Luck to the Wolverines.
  15. WOW cat, you have really stoked the fire up with this thread. LOL. I do remember the posts you were referring to but do me a favor, don't assume JGera is speaking for all LaVergne fans. He may be speaking for some of them but I have my own opinions and they do not all match his. Anyway, Why was I not surprised to see 82cat as the thread starter with the title "wait ti ----"? LOL, I could have guessed who started that thread without looking. I am glad LHS gets a rematch with SHS this year instead of having to wait until next year. I hope the results are different this time just like I hoped for that in August but we all know the outcome on that one. I do agree LHS is on a roll and maybe SHS hasn't been the same since their loss to Ravenwood but that doesn't mean they are all of a sudden a "bad" team. I think some of the people who said that Smyrna doesn't want to play LaVergne again this year because ......... were just running their mouth because they probably figured there wouldn't be a rematch this year. A lot of people thought LaVergne had the chance to beat Cookeville this year and I was one of them but a lot of people thought Cookeville would walk all over LaVergne also. LaVergne played a really good game instead of a really good 2 or 3 quarters. Last season they were a really good second half team and started out that way this year but have developed themselves into a team that can play really good for 4 quarters. If for no other reason, this is going to be a must see game for the rivalry equation alone, being a playoff game is going to make it all the better. Good luck to the Wolverines and hope for an injury free game.
