  1. I am well aware of what Chuck went through last year. I made no comment about him or what he had been through. My comment was simply to say that your comment about your line was rediculous. They are big I am sure, so is ours, but never would it cross my mind to compare them to UT's. If you took offense to my comments about your line, thinking that I was degrading Chuck, then I apologize. I meant no disrespect to him. I do think that he is a very strong person for enduring what he did. As far as you having to sink to an inferior level and using "bad words" with keys like @#!, all I can say is grow up. No, we don't have any players at UT right now, and despite what Hokie says, it would be nice. That is a testament to how successful Maryville's program has been. Tennessee High has not had the success that you all have in the past few years. Quarles has done a great job, and Stubbs has as well. That is all I have to say about that. By the way, if you average one per year, why do I never hear of them playing? Many colleges will give college scholarships based on high school statistics, which is again a testament to the success at Maryville. And the comment about warm milk and cookies. Again, grow up. I am not the one wearing my feelings on my sleeve and crying everytime someone makes a comment about my team. If you are that insecure, then maybe you should stay on threads that are about Maryville instead of getting on here and trying to blast us. thumb
  2. Feel free to say what you want to. It is really tough to tear into some one behind the anonymity of a computer. I am just saying that Chuck Prugh would not be playing if it were not for injuries on the offensive line at UT. I was also stating how ludicrous it is to compare an offensive line to a college line. Obviously there is no comparison. If there was, then Chuck, who was a great offensive lineman at Maryville would have walked right into UT and started. And as we all know that is not the case.
  3. Who beats who doesn't really matter. Different teams will play each other differently. To address the Gate City, Powell Valley argument: The vikings used to play Gate City, but it was under a different head coach. In the Greg Stubbs era, the Vikings are 43-6. They no longer play Gate City. They did, however, play Powell Valley in a scrimmage this fall, and as others have said it wasn't even close. As far as beating South, it was 52-7 the first time. It will probably be closer this time, because I am sure that the Vikings will underestimate the Rebels, and I am sure that the Rebels want some revenge. So I say Vikings 42 Rebels 0 That is 3 points closer than the first time. thumb
  4. But, then again, that gave your boy Chuck Prugh some PT. If it wasn't for their injuries, he would still be a second string pine rider. thumb
  5. Just hope for your sake they don't end up in the same condition that UT's O line is in right now.
  6. We have a pretty good defensive front four: Maurice Whitten Zack Morton Drew Kennedy Johnny Graybeal
  7. I heard the same thing as h-unit did. Eads had a certain "window" of time that he could have surgery on his left hand, or suffer permanent damage. He chose to play as long as he could, but his time was up this week. I really hate it for him. He seems to be a good kid, who has done alot for the East program. Hopefully he will be completely healed before baseball season. Matt, hope the thumb heals well.
  8. I don't know much about East Ridge, but I have seen some of the scores that Central has put up on people. I would say that they will have no problem until they face Maryville again.
  9. I think that Elizabethton can pull this one out. Both teams are much improved since I saw them play against THS, but so is everyone else (for the most part). From what I saw in week 1 and 2, Elizabethton has a better team. Again, just another opinion, but other than the Vikings, Elizabethton is the only other team from region 1 that will make it to the second round. South hasn't been the same since their trip to the castle, and I don't think that East will be either.
  10. I say that we all just worry about round 1, and we can have these arguments at a later date if necessary. thumb It is 4 1/2 more weeks until Murfreesboro.
  11. I will agree that Cherokee is much improved over week 1, but so has Tennessee High. They may be able to make a second game closer, but shut down the offense they will not do. I agree with nisstek, Cherokee has played their last game against Tennessee High this year. You all better worry about Elizabethton, they are much improved as well. But if it does happen, we will worry about it then. Right now it is time to focus on the Trojans.
  12. Mo West is definitely not a team to be underestimated. They have had a lack-luster season, but they still are a well coached team. I have no doubt that Coach Woods will have the Trojans ready to play this Friday. And make no mistake, they will not be overlooked by the Vikings. They have a little matter of vengance to take care of. They have lost to the Trojans too many times to think that they can waltz through this one. THS 49 MWest 7
  13. I was hoping to never hear the words big poppa again after biggie smalls died. thumb
  14. I will have to say that Coach Nelson has done a great job with what he has to work with at East. But the streak will come to an end this Friday.
  15. Hillwood, who do you think you are? You get on here and talk a bunch of junk about THS, and you are from Nashville. I have seen several of your posts on different threads concerning THS, and you never have anything worthwhile to say. So I guess what I am saying is keep your posts and your opinions in Middle Tennessee. Maybe if you're Hillwood whatever's are good enough we can meet in Murfreesboro. thumb
  16. As if this week wasn't going to be a big enough challenge with two 9-0 teams facing off for the Region 1-4A title, a beloved Tennessee High Viking will have other issues to deal with. Saturday, Zack Morton, our starting tight end and defensive end lost his father to a heart attack. This is a great blow for Zack and I know that he could use all of the help and prayers that he can get. Thanks to all. We love you Zack!
  17. The only way that East scores more than 7 is late in the game against reserves like everyone else has. I stay with my prediction from another post THS - 56 East - 7 Zack, Know that the whole Viking family is here for you in your hard times.
  18. Eads and Nidiffer are different kinds of QB's. Nidiffer runs the wing T and Eads is in a shotgun spread offense. I wouldn't say that one is better than the other. Each has done a good job running their own particular offense. If you want to compare the numbers, we could. I know that Nidiffer runs the 40 in 4.5 seconds, which is good for a run based offense. As far as passing goes, Nidiffer won the passing contest in the jamboree this year, so he must have a stronger arm too. As for the game, it should be a good one, at least if you are pulling for the Vikings. They will roll in this one 56-7. thumb
  19. I stand corrected. I knew he had alot, but I am not up to date on my facts. Zack is awesome, and so is Mo
  20. 56-10 is a beating. I didn't think that Central would be as good as they were last year with the loss of Cassen Jackson, but I didn't think it would be this bad.
  21. Nice Bowman, try to keep your cool.
  22. Zack Morton #44 had 9 1/2 sacks going into Friday night's game against Johnson County. I don't remember if he had any sacks Friday night or not. He is close to breaking the career sack record at TN High.
  23. I am not being negative, just stating the facts. The point is that anyone can be stopped, TN High, Maryville, Knox Central.
  24. One week at a time, one week at a time.
