  1. I was just wondering if anyone knew how the Tullahoma pitcher is doing? I heard she caught a line drive with her pitching hand during the Lawrence County game. That is an awful thing to happen and I was just wondering how she was doing. Wishing her the best of luck.
  2. Just wanted to let everyone know that the Lawrence County girls defeated Spring Hill 17-10 in a very exciting match. Kayla Moore bowled a 561 to help lead LCHS to victory. The match was extremely tight with great plays made by both sides. Congratulations to both teams for a very well played match.

  9. I need info concerning where and when the MTSCA All Academics Team Awards will given. I know that it is suppose to be at the All Star Game in June, but that's it. Our coaches didn't inform our girls that they had made the team, but a parent who happened to be on CoachT did, and then I'm still not sure if they all know. We do not know any specifics on the time, place, etc. If anyone out there could give me some information it would be greatly appreciated.

  20. What is going on at Club K? My daughter just came back from lessons this weekend at Club K and she said that Emily informed her students that she would not be giving lessons any longer because she was leaving Club K. First Kim leaves and now Emily. Is there something going on that we should be informed about? Also a lot of the students are not happy with the replacements that are for Kim. Any one have any info on any of this?
  21. What is going on with Lawrence County? Why can they not hire coaches for their softball team that actually have experience coaching softball? The head coach, David Muckle, and assistant coach, Shane Clark, both admitting to not having any experience coaching softball, in fact they both have coached basketball but not softball. The other assistant coach is a volunteer that has coached softball for years, however his hands are tied most of the time because he is not the head coach hired by the county. This situation is not fair for the girls who have worked hard for so many years to have the team taken over by people who know nothing about softball. When the football and basketball teams needs new coaches, it is for certain that they scout for people who have experience in that sport and who they think will do a good job with that sport. The baseball team even has coaches hired who know the game. Yes, I realize the softball team does not bring in the revenue that the football and basketball teams do, however they do take their sport as seriously as anyone else. There are girls on the team that could have a chance to play college ball, but may not have the chance for the exposure because of having coaches that do not know how to play the game. This post may get locked or deleted because it may seem as if I am coach bashing, but that is not my intention. I am not trying to personally attack any coach. I am just trying to bring to attention the fact that the softball team is not being treated fairly when they hire coaches that are not trained to coach the sport. In fact, it seems that Title IX comes in mind in situations such as this, and suits have been brought up in cases more trivial than this. GIVE THE GIRLS AND THE TEAM A FAIR SHAKE!!! THEY DESERVE TO BE TREATED WITH MORE RESPECT THAN THIS!!
  22. I notice that there are several teams that are not listed as having players receiving this award. Is it the fact that the coaches of these teams have not nominated anyone or that the coaches are not a member of this association? Are all high school coaches a member of this? I am curious because I know for a fact that we have at least two players at our school that would qualify for this. It would be a shame for these student athletes not to be awarded something such as this because the coaches are not knowledgeable of it. Is it too late for others to be added?

    lawrence county

Lawrence County is starting out this year with a completely new coaching staff this year with coaches David Muckle, Shane Clark and Tony Fincher. They have 3 pitchers this year. Christy Moore, a junior, Brianna Beck, a sophomore, and Katie Markus, who is also a sophomore.Catchers for the team are Emma Rohling and Danielle Fincher. The team showed there are great things to come this year at the Columbia Playday this weekend. They won 2 games, and lost 3, however two of the games lost were against Blackman, 1-0, and Brentwood 5-0, who are considered to be above average teams. This record is considerably better than last year's results and shows great promise in my opinion.
