  1. I would really love to see a middle school board.
  2. I coached against Coach West when he was at Union City Middle and he got the most out of his girls. They always worked hard and he stressed fundamentals. He is young, enthusiastic, and a hard worker. Get off his back and give him a chance.

Does anyone know how the Lady Trojans did in their jamboree?
  4. "Dyersburg High School's Derrick Dowell pulls down the Melrose quarterback while he hands off to the Wildcats running back on fourth down for Melrose's first touchdown ... or was it?" This was the caption of a picture in Sunday's Dyersburg State Gazette questioning the first td by Melrose. For the picture go to www.stategazette.com and click on sports and then click on the picture of a qb being tackled.

I knew that the Tomcats would be back this season from what Mike had a few years back. He had a down year and in turn the Tomcats did, he hasn't had many and neither have the Tomcats. Contact the ms fan and have him give an update. Is this Michael an att.? If it is, he hasn't mentioned that he was a great player. I need to talk to him about that.

I will tell Brad B. hi for you. Is the Michael S.? We have several Michael's. I don't want to use last names on our computers for security reasons here. I think you can understand. If you know my buddy Mike Y. that coaches the Haywood Middle School football team, tell him hi for me and that I'm fine. We had the greatest rivalry when we coached against each other. You in Haywood County are fortunate to have such a fine, Christian man coaching your youth. Tell him I said that. Thanks for the support.

That is us. Let me know who they are and I will let them know. I checked the scoreboard and got most of the scores, but there was no Dyer Co.-Brighton score. Does anyone know it? It looks like there were some exciting games last night. I miss being able to hear the radio wrap up show out of Trenton/Jackson after the games to hear details. DHS-Munford must have been an exciting game - how was it. My wife goes to the games, but if she remembers who won I'm lucky. She is beautiful and sweet and I love her, but she is not good on details of a ballgame.

Thanks, Tom. I'm glad Steve has them. I know he will do a great job. He has a great group to work with. They are not accustomed to lo....... . I can't even type the word. I hope somebody will keep me informed after each game. Some of the vb players have kept me up on their progress. In the spring keep me up on the bb team. Great hearing you!!!

We left home 12 Aug and went to beautiful Ft. Bragg for 6 weeks and have been here in Kuwait a little over a week. It has been a balmy 105 each day since I have been here. but it's a dry heat so it doesn't feel much more than 102. Seriously it has cooled off from the 130's in the middle of Sept. It is sandy, flat, and barren, totally different than our great state.

That's what I'm talking about!!!! This is in response to another post. Those of us here are proud to serve and help defend our great nation. The job we are doing here in Kuwait is vital, but not heroic. The warfighters in the north are true heroes. Our role is to help those warriors take care of business. Everyone here doesn't agree with the reasons for the fighting, but we agee that we are here to do our jobs and that is to do the best we can to support our troops. Now back to this post. We have soldiers that are interested in sports all over the state, but most of my unit is from West Tn. We are concerned about Huntingdon, McKenize, Milan, Bruceton, Jackson Christian. Halls, Ripley, Lake Co., Westview, Dyersburg, and Dyer Co. among others. Being from Dyersburg I am concerned about the Trojans and having played for Dyer Co. many moons ago and more recently helped broadcast their games I want to hear about the Choctaws. Because of the time difference I will respond to most posts at about 1:00a.m. your time. I will be getting off my 12 hour shift about the time you write, so there will be a delay in some of responses. I want to sincerely thank everyone for responding and for the well wishes. I don't have it bad here, but being half a world away from home and the things and people I love is difficult. Being able to stay in touch with sports makes it much nicer.

That's our Rusty. He was been able to keep up with the Chargers when we were in the states by talking to his wife. We now check scores Sat. mornings on coacht, because games are just ending. We are 8 hours ahead of central daylight time. Rusty really misses being at school and he especially misses the games. I will pass the message on to him.

I would really love to hear about all the schools. We have one guy from Westview that would love to hear about his teams. He has had a big interest in the Chargers for years. We call him Rusty. You probably know him.

I have been stationed in Kuwait about one week and it has been a treat having a contact with my home state by being able to read the sports happenings from Tennessee. I have never posted, but I have been reading different postings for a good while. I would love to see more posts from West Tennessee.
