Coalfield is on a different league then any of the other teams from what i've seen. This whole division is down a bit really though.
  2. It shouldnt matter what noises the players make, if your good enough to not let it bother you then who cares? I've seen Wartburg, Oneida, Sunbright, OZ, Oakdale, Jellico, Harriman, Midway, and many other teams cheer. Either you got beat and are complaining about something or your just an immature kid. They cheer on all levels, even the majors. In fact, the majors do it more than anyone else. (rally caps anyone?)
  3. 1. Wartburg 2. Coalfied 3. Oz 4. Oneida 5. Oakdale 6. Sunbright Wartbrug and Coalfield will dominate this year, something everyone expects. Oliver springs is down a bit, but still better than the other three by leagues. Oneida didn't lose much from their senior class last year (not that they had much to begin with) but its still less than what Oakdale and Sunbright have. Sunbright losing Hawn was probably the worst loss for any of the teams.
  4. What do people think about the losses of Sexton, Carson, and TB? I was told they quit (or can't play) due to grades and various other reasons.
  5. I like your style OFP. The only problem I have with your assessment is throwing out games that were blowouts. Oneida took a Greenback team that most considered to be in the top 5 or 6 in the state and absolutely dismantled them. By your alls assessments TC and SP are on a whole different level than Oneida or Greenback. Well, if this is true, then Oneida doing that to Greenback would be similar to if TC had Mercy ruled SP. I think the top two teams in 1A football are playing this week on the east side... and last week the top 4 were. I personally just can't wait for this game, but no more posts from me. I have to drive a ways so I'll be ready for that. Oneida 17 TC 10
  6. Just curious... Where was the first TC/Watertown game at? I think the fact your forgetting Oneida traveled as far as they did is of pretty decent importance. Home field advantage is easily a touchdown or more in some instances. Maybe im just crazy, but id give UT much better chances in Neyland Stadium over heading to the Swamp or Between the Hedges any day.
  7. Thats strange, because the rating system I was using (the ap coaches poll) when Oneida beat Midway they were ranked 8th, and when they beat greenback they were ranked 5th. what ranking system are you using? perhaps your using one and im using another. I also think rockwood went 5-5 regular season, a pretty decent 2 a school in a division thats loaded every year. I used regular season only because thats who they SCHEDULE. you dont control who you play in the playoffs. This is hardest schedule, not hardest schedule + playoff games. If SP was on your regular 10 games, I would understand using it, but Oneida had Greenback on thiers(yes, a region game, but still there nonetheless.) I also did this because, last I checked, rankings dont exist in the playoffs other than your seed. I'm merely saying this. I dont think many people would argue that Oneida had a tougher schedule. It wont help them one bit i don't think either. I also don't think Trousdale's schedule will help them one bit(except maybe playing in a very tight, very important game) more than Oneida's. One way or another, tomorrow will be a heck of a game, most definately worth my drive up there.
  8. I may be wrong, but I think once in the 70s? they had a team that was 8-2 or 9-1 something like that?
  9. Let's look at more facts. Oneida has played MORE teams with winning records than TC has. Macon 1-9 (the team that they beat went 1-9) Livingston 1-9 (the team they beat also went 1-9) Watertown went 6-4 at the end of season (lost to oneida) Smith County went 8-2 at end of season (also played 6 teams with losing records. 2 teams with records of 5-5 & 6-5) Monterey 2-8 (beat teams that went 2-8 & 0-10) Gordonsville 3-7 Clay Co. 7-4 ( beat TAFT, a team that went 3-7, a team that went 0-10, beat 2 teams that went 2-8, and team that went 3-7) Mt. Juliet Christian Academy 2-8 Friendship Christian 10-2 (scheldule rank 49th played a crappy scheldule..actually almost idetical 2 yalls) Red Boiling Springs 0-10 (hasn't won a game since 2001) Look at those numbers and notice that there are only 4 teams with winning records. Oneida has played 6 teams with winning records. More numbers = lower averages. Not saying this favors them, but I think it would be fair to use the same number for each, otherwise the team that actually plays WEAKER opponents has the advantage in this situation. It doesnt help Oneida's stats that they have played midway and greenback twice though. Also Oneida's strength rank is #1 and schedule rank #9. Trousdales is strength ranks is 4th and schedule rank? 43rd Don't think thats a comparison...
  10. I think whoever wins this game will represent this side of the state well, and most likely dominate the state finals.
  11. Something to continue with on the Indians offensive line. I remember reading an article in the paper at the beginning of week 1 (wow seems like ages ago) that had TL saying when the Indians ran their power/goal line sets they have 7 seniors on the offensive line, all of which have started at least since they were sophomores. I saw in the greenback game (and a little of the midway game) that when they got up by two touchdowns, they switched to a power I/wing formation and single handedly drained the clock this way, and scored on almost every possession as well. IF oneida were to get up in this game, I could very easily see them switching to this "mindset" and doing everything they could just to kill the clock. I might be taking this as more than it is, but seven seniors playing for three, and some even four, years? I dont know that you can get more experienced then that in the trenches.
  12. I'll explain a few very simple things for you: 1. I'm not for Oneida, or even from Oneida. I just like high school football, and to me 1A is the best to watch because there arent any Alcoas or Maryvilles running around that always win year in and year out. 2. This schedule that was "strong to oneida" was strong to the entire state of Tennessee, not just to them. Math is what creates these polls, and in this case, trousdale wasnt even close. 3. This in NO WAY means Oneida has won, or will win, or even has the advantage. It means, that for 13 weeks, Oneida has played tougher opponents on average than Trousdale. I think SP is better than any team Oneida has played this year, but I also think the worst team Oneida has played is better than the worst team Trousdale has played, id go as far as to say that the top 3 teams oneida played in the REGULAR season, would soundly defeat the top three Trousdale has played. 4. There is such a difference in commenting about a game and being arragont and distasteful. You are much closer to the latter than the former, and even worse you're arguing with something that not you, I, or any community had control over. 5. Support your team, but not make yourself look like a fool on internet message boards. I guarantee that Oneida coaches(and Trousdale coaches) find this thread and use it to fuel some flames. but i notice that nobody here has said "Trousdale gets blown out, Oneida by any score they want, Trousdale won't even score." Oneida talks more on Fridays from what i've seen. Again, good luck to both teams, and I hope stupidity does not bring me back into this thread once more... but im sure it will /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  13. You're confusing me Marshal, I dont mind people talking trash, but if your going to quote numbers, get them right.. By these stats, Oneidas schedule isnt just harder, its roughly 4 times harder. Schedule Strength Division I Class A 1. South Pittsburg 59.6% 2. Watertown 58.8% 3. Moore Co. 56.3% 4. Mt. Oneida 1.541 2. South Pittsburg 1.513 3. Cascade 1.466 4. Trousdale Co. 1.439 Just saying, talking smack fine and dandy, but if your gonna use numbers... use the right ones. Good luck to both teams on friday.
  14. NOW you are going to be eating crow. because I guarantee that oneida will put points on the board.
  15. You pretty much just described Oneida, except without a liquor store. We used to be big enough to have a Piggly Wigglie's way back when, but now we aint even got that... /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
