  1. More of your foolishness. AC clearly had more speed and more raw talent than Columbia. The only advantage Columbia had was size, which allowed your QB time to hit his receivers. Quit whining. No one is going to take the time to answer the prevarications and unsubstantiated rumors you so freely create out of whole cloth. Remember, the video, unlike you, doesn't lie. Don't take this wrong, as ya'll did have talent, but you didn't even have a kid who can play running back. Clearly you didn't have any RB's. I see people bragging about your QB setting a record in passes, which is commendable. But did you set some sort of record on fewest yards rushed? If not, I'm sure it was fewest yards of a 9 win team. One more thing, speakin of defensive talent, how many purple jerseys were scraped off the field? I saw 3 or 4 white jerseys get scraped off the field. One white jersey was down on our side. Of course, our coaches/medics were tending to the AC boy. Ask your kids if Columbia has defensive talent when it comes to hitting. All clean BTW. Did you see our LB knock the kid out? Ask him if Columbia hits, if he's come to. Commendable, really? A kid sets a state record in two less games than the previous record holder and all you can say is commendable. Wow! As far as all the extra-curricular, all I saw on a news video was a Columbia coach coming across the field toward the AC coaches. The Columbia coach put his hands on the AC coach first, and no punches were thrown.
  2. "Catlett years have run their course. Goodness sakes, how long has Shattuck been there. Larry Kerr took over a struggling AC team in '93. The very next year they went to the quarterfinals. Quit blaming Catlett. That is pitiful.
  3. I don't know about the rest of you all on here but I would much rather be "lucky" and playing in the 3rd round than "good" and sittin at the house. Wonder if the district champs-2nd round shirts have been printed yet.
  4. I know some of it depends on who all wins, but what are the possiblities of where games will be played in the semi-finals.
  5. Wow, he has shown. Didn't eat much crow though. #15 is straight out of downtown Lake City!
  6. It is true that they have not faced a team with a winning record but both teams they have played were part of a 6A laiden district.
  7. Well, I'm not sure that AC will be rushing for 200 plus yards Friday night. Not sure they have rushed for that much in the last 3 or 4 games combined.
  8. That's ok 92drag. I appreciate you answering for us. I don't think you are too bitter. Although, I could understand it if you were. I would be little. I always enjoy your posts. They always seem to be well thought out an intelligent. One thing I did notice looking at some stats, Columbia apparently gave up 375 yds passing against Cleveland in week one of the playoffs. Could be a bright spot for the Mavs. They will have to take their A game to Columbia. They are not the type of team that can show up and beat anybody. I will say though, that if Columbia does sell out against the pass, Blakely does have the ability to hurt a team running the ball.
  9. I just wonder which bandwagon Queener jumps on now. Used to be Fulton all the time. With Clinton having the year they did, he jumped on it this year. I guess now he will say that he really knew the Mavs would win and jump on theirs.
  10. No disrespect intended bratman, but the AC vs Clinton game is the very definition of a high school rivalry game. I have been a part of this game in some capacity since '92. It always had been and always will be a rivalry. Two side notes: Thought it to be very interesting that 2 weeks ago when Clinton won for the first time in 10 years, the story somehow made the press so that it was in the paper Saturday morning. I wonder why it couldn't make it in today. That may be a question for Ray Blakeney, or Ron Bridgeman. I'm also waiting on pictures from last night to make it on the acs.ac web page. Somehow those pics made it to the web really quick two weeks ago. Lastly, has anyone thought about history possibly being made next Friday against Columbia. If Tanner Williams throws for around 100 yds Friday night he will surpass 3,800 yds for the year. That would make him the Tennessee High School all-time leader in passing yards for a season. WOW! Pretty good for a kid that folks said couldn't play QB.
  11. Hopefully this will be a good one. Mavs need to enjoy their win tonight and then come ready to prepare for Columbia.
  12. No competition. No competition. No competition. No competition. No competiton. No competiton. No competition. Probably need to make sure what your kids say on television during interviews. I'm pretty sure the Mavs were somewhat of a competition tonight for the Dragons. I have some advice for some of the Clinton faithful(dragonfan123). You may want to come and hang out on one of the redneck farms in Anderson Co. You will learn one important rule. Never count your chickens before they hatch. You all do know a little bit about laying an egg though. I'm pretty sure if you call before next week you can get a complete refund on all of those rooms in Cookeville(dragonfan123). Make sure you wear those 10-1 district champs shirts next week to Columbia to support the Mavs(dragonfan123). One of the best of the high school football games that anyone will ever see.
  13. Intelligent post. I'm pretty sure you know me. I would know you if name was revealed.
  14. Gaylor left for two reasons; money and he saw the handwriting on the wall. NO UPCOMING TALENT!
  15. I feel so sorry for dragon123. The only times he can brag on Clinton are times that he was not associated with the program. "Well back in '92", (well before he got there) and "well this year stone and hazelhurst are going all the way." Many years after his sorry self was gone. Pitiful. What color hoodie did you wear while standing on the sidelines watching, orange or black?
  16. With all the hype about the offense from Clinton, the defense is getting left out. Coach Herrell will probably be up for Defensive Coach of the Year. Just look at how many turnovers his defense has caused, giving the ball to the offense in great field position. With all that being said though, I still say Dragons finish season 10-1. Go Mavs!
  17. Glad to hear that Hazelhurst is back. With that being said, is he back 100%. Only time will tell. Anxious to see how well he moves on Friday. Having tore an MCL before, they are not a walk in the park to overcome in a short time. We don't know for sure how serious it is, this includes the doc's. Weston is really the only one that can know if he is ready. As far as Clinton having all kinds of talent, that is correct. To be honest, that has been the case in several years past. I've seen AC play for many years. They have had some great athletes at different times. As far as having a team loaded with talent, that's not happened much. Last year, Clinton had more overall talent. This year, Clinton has more overall talent. Coach Gillum has done a amazing job getting these kids to accomplish what they have this year. With all that being said, Clinton should win. If they don't, they will have laid an egg, and will be an embarrassment to the community. Don't expect for AC to come in and bow down though. They will play ball. Good luck Mavs.
  18. The downward spiral started right when he took over, the 99 team was very talented. And Meske might have a little more to do with Webb's success than he does. That may have occurred when he tried to instill a little discipline in the program.
  19. Last time I checked, AC fans were not talking trash, just stating facts. Oh yeah, and pointing out your embarassing mistakes!!!!
  20. As for Catlett, he is a great coach. Apparently it was the Jimmy's and Joe's he had to work with during his tenure. Matter of fact, knowing now that dragon123 was on some of those teams, it had to be that there were no horses in the stable. Catlett is very successful at Webb. Wasn't him, just lack of talent.
  21. Dragon, as best I can read, no one from AC made any claim that all of their players are from AC. You said that about your players. We have kids from different places. They went through the proper channels to do so. #6 (for Clinton) is not a home-grown Clinton kid. You are sure quick to claim his as one. I say good for him. He is in a stable home environment and doing well. Secondly, I thought you Dragons didn't live in the past, but yet you wanted to talk about all the studs you have had there in the past. Once again, you didn't think before you spoke. Shame, shame. You are being hypocritical aren't you? Do as you say, not as you do?
  22. I'm just glad to see that Clinton finally has some athletes on the field. The series had gotten quite boring. I almost likened it to playing Campbell Co, or maybe even a Jellico. It's kind of like my golf game. After I hit it down the middle so many times off the tee, if feels good to have to play out of the rought from time to time. Par just gets boring sometimes. AC was almost bored with beating Clinton. Thanks for mixing things up Dragons.
  23. Coach retired and coached middle school football this year.
