Just ribbin' man, all in fun. I wish I wasn't such a Harpeth fan, I'd try to take in more games in the 12AA area. Always athletic and talented. Then, I could put my foot in my mouth and eat crow more often. Should be some really good games in Waverly next week. See ya there.

Lexington was a well prepared team that did a great job of playing THEIR game. They were patient and didn't take too many ill advised shots. Definately a game played from the perimeter. Lexington shot well from outside and once Harpeth came out with a little more pressure, #'s 24 & 25 used their very quick first step to get really good penetration for some layups. Harpeth's D was better in the second half, didn't give up near as many layups. Just closed out flat-footed in the first half, too many easy points. To your point about "drive at the end." That was a result of Lexington slowing the game down in the 3rd, very meticulous, and I think that gave them the extra umph they needed to keep that lead down the stretch. I haven't said this but maybe once this season, but I'm gonna say it now... DEFINATELY THE WORST CALLED GAME I'VE SEEN. Both ways, mind you. Neither team was given an advantage from it. I think the foul count was pretty even on both sides. Yes, it was the first time this season I've seen the "water delay of game" called. I watched the clock on the refs 5-counts and they were calling 5-seconds when the clock had elapsed about 3, very quick. Harpeth had opportunities down the stretch, but the shots didn't fall. I also have to question why Harpeth took some of the shots they did. They rushed them and were forcing shots with a defender hanging on each arm, even though they were 10 footers, they were off-balanced and forced. Good luck to Mandy, Salem and Stephanie. Might have been 3 wins either way, but you stated Harpeth was dominated. My opinion is you're offbase with this, this year's Harpeth team is more athletic from top to bottom and their defense is better. Not to mention a much more dicsiplined bunch. Sure they miss a ballhandler/slasher like RD, but he would not be the difference in that team coming out on top of this year's team. I also think comparing teams like this cannot be done accurately. Since when do you look at reality? Apparently only when it comes to teams other than your own. I think if you go back and re-read your posts, you'll find that NOT TOO MUCH of what you state comes true, just the facts. Yes I will probably come watch all the powerhouse teams from 12AA dominate each other when it's time to go Waverly. If Harpeth's not there, I'll come up with another time, but same place.

Agree with you 100% BC. ks called me earlier and got me all worked up about the shots that people were taking at Coach Johnson. After a car problem and about 4 hours, I lost the fire I had when I wanted to respond. This is not the same Lady Indians team as they were at the end of last season. Not just roster-wise, but mindset-wise. This was a team struggling through many more issues than what was on the surface. Coach Johnson stepped in and took control. He has taken their overall defense to the next level (every game something has visibly improved). They are conditioned WAY better than they have been in the past. He has implemented a totally new offensive scheme. He is getting good or better performance from the bench, which is VERY, VERY shallow. IMHO, he inherited a team that had much more potential to fail than succeed. Will he struggle next year? You bet he will, any coach, Phil Carr included, would. Will they be the bottom of the barrel, nope, because the work ethic that has been instilled this year will pay off. They will be young and very thin, but hustle and defense will get them in the top 4 of the district.

Congrats to Wilson and crew on the win tonight. I thought Sycamore was about to go on a tear and put it away in the 3rd. 12AA rules guys, just admit it all you 11AA fans. I actually heard that they were predicting that 3 different class state champs were going to be coming from 12AA this year. So just give it up 11AA.

I believe Liberty is head and shoulders above the rest in this region, state for that matter. That being said, I have no idea how the rest are going to shake out. I do think Harpeth and Sycamore have the ability to control a game over a more athletic team. Both played in some higher profile tournaments this season and have held their own, even beating obviously more athletic teams.

I would have given her the nod over Phennessee for the regular season team as well.

Disappointed with the snub of Ms. Thompson from Sycamore. Should have been on both lists. Solid performer in the paint all year long.

WOW! I couldn't have picked a better night to sit at home and listen to the games. My blood pressure would be through the roof had I been there, it's high enough just listening. Great broadcast guys. I think that whole depth thing only affects you if you go into that gym thinking it will. I played 2 years at Harpeth in middle school and 3 at CCCHS. Even then the rims were a shooter's dream in the Cubs den, but I can vouge that the "depth of the walls" never enhanced the home court advantage. Good shooters are focused on the rim. BC/RollTide, would Harpeth or Sycamore actually be able to host a game? Or because of gym size, would they have to play at another gym (CCCHS/Creek Wood/Fairview)? I know season before last, Harpeth girls had to play their sectional at Fairview because of HHS' gym size.

Yep, Cheatham's gonna be tough to beat in their own house. Lady Cubs and Harpeth have split so far. Gonna duke it out for the district title. Should be a good one.

Good point, they lost quite a bit from last year, I weighed this fact when picking my prediction as well.
