    Region 8

I cant wait to hear the real answer to that one. I hard he wasnt playing hard and basically told the team that they were nothing without him and the team decided they wanted him off. Then I heard that he dropped out of school and is know going to an alternative school. I also heard he lost his college scholarship, but it may all be rumors.
  2. I may be wrong but I cant think of a private school near Riverdale- Murfeesboro that could have a chance of getting an athlete to leave Riverdale and go to their school. As for 5A teams in Memphis, such as Germantown and Houston, they have players leave for schools such as Briarcrest (Div. II AA State Champs), ECS(Div. II AA State Runner Ups), Memphis University School (Div. II AAA State Champs), and Christian Brothers. I know that at least 5 people who started for Houston in either their middle school program or freshman program all left and won state championships at either Briarcrest or MUS. If these schools were not around, or there werent so many, I can guarantee that the West would by far be the best.
  3. Yes the competition is better in Region 7 but I still see Region 8 sweeping that region like they did this year in the playoffs
  4. Anyone going to give me feedback?
  5. Some Houston people sound a little cocky, thats bad news for the Mustangs. But ill give you my 5 reasons why Houston will win. 5) Its at Mustang field 4) The Mustangs dont have one player going both ways. They keep everyone fresh all game, something Germantown does not do. They will wear down 3) The Houston offense is due to score a touchdown. 2) GERMANTOWNs SPECIAL TEAMS ARE HORRIBLE. 1) The Houston Defense is that much BETTER
  6. What do you guys think about the other side of the quarterfinals, Germantown and Houston(A huge rivalry game, both schools from same city, Germantwon,- schools are only about 5 miles apart) ? Who do you all think will come out on top and who would you all like to play?? Just a little curiosity from the city of Germantown. I also find it weird that the Houston Germantown game was one by Houston by one point also. I think all the quarterfinal games this week are pretty big rivalry game
  7. How do you figure Gtown to roast the Mustangs. Last time I checked, the Mustangs won the last meeting. And, if Gtown takes Miller out, there are 3 solid running backs behind him that could easily start
  8. Who deserves to make the All Region team in 8-5A? There are many players that will be left off the list that are very good.

    Collierville

I wanted to point out that Region 8 swept Region 7, so I think that should clear up some things. Give me some feedback on the Cville - Gtown game and the Houston - WS game
  10. I am also looking forward to rematch between Houston - White Station. Please Give me some feedback on this game. Ill have to give Houston the edge in this one because I cant see HHS letting W.S beat them twice on their own field. Also the way Houston took it to WS in the second half of their regular season match was pretty convincing. Just too little too late. Hopefully Houston comes out on top in their game because I would love to see Houston and Gtown play in the Quarterfinals.
  11. Yes, I think Gtown will take it to Collierville. I think it will be tight early, only because Collierville will be looking for revenge. Look for Germantown to run all over Cville and that Quarterback of theirs will be running for his life. I also wanted to point out how dominant Region 8 was. Im glad that all the teams from Region 8 (1.Cville, 2.Houston, 3.Gtown, 4.White Station) won all their games. Now we dont havel to listen to the likes of Cordova, Bolton, or Millington players/fans talk about how they would be so dominant.
  12. Someone has to give the West props for all the competition down there. That has to play some role in the playoffs. I think the team from the West will be either Houston, Germantown, Collierville, or Cordova. For these teams it is a dog fight week in and week out and that will show up as the playoffs go on.
  13. I would definintly say that Millington and Bolton are way to high. I would also say that Collierville has to be in the top 15
  14. As much as i hate doing this i will eat my words. One man beat Houstons defense on Friday night. Ill tell everyone something, if you have to play Collierville, you need to hit that Hall kid until he cant play any more. He is their leader and they cant move the ball without him. I know someone will tell me about the two other kids that rushed for 50 and 51 yards, but that was towards the end of the game when Collierville was running the clock out and Houston had given up. Collierville Dragons might as well change their name to Hall.
  15. But the Houston defense has consistently held offenses. They shot themselves in the foot by allowing 21 in the first half against White Station, but besides that, they have held Bolton(AVG. 300+ yds. rushing a game) to under 100 and Germantown was also avg close to 300 yds. of total offense. And another test comes with the Dragons at their place this Friday.
  16. Kirby, Hamilton, or Overton, I know someone gave Collierville a hard time. I also apologize for saying Kirby. I will also say that having two weeks off gives a big advantage to Collierville. Also I hear that Cville team is going to see Friday Night Lights before their game. Everyone one will have their game faces on, and the Mustangs will need alot of energy. This is the meat of their schedule, coming off two tough wins by beating Bolton and Germantown.
  17. Bartlett shouldnt slam on any one until they get a respectable football team. Also, Philip6930, dont make your ignorance so obvious! You sound ridiculous saying Houston's defense isnt anygood. They are averaging close to 4 forced turnovers a game! They are, by far, the best defense I have seen so far. PS- They held White Station to 28 points, it isnt their fault the offense only scored 21. How many did Collierville allow? 48? Thats pitiful.
  18. How can you say that Collierville's defense is any good. Any defense that allows someone to run for 380+ yards and has a horrible team like kirby put up something like 20 points is not a good defense. Also this Houston team has the hardest hitting defense in the Region. They will stick it to Hall, and probably hurt that hamstring he has been nursing lately. Also, Houstons attack wont slow down all game, because they are deep enough to have every starter go only one way. Look for a tight game early, but Houston winning at the end by at least 15 points.
  19. Im glad someone is giving props to West TN. Although just about any 8-5A team (Houston, Germantown, Whitehave, Whitestation) is better than Bolton, thats just my 2 cents.
  20. Houston vs. Collierville Houstons defense is good, and so is that Hall kid from Collierville. Can one man take down the Mustang defense? I doubt it, but let me hear others input. Also, even though Houstons offense has been less than worthy, they have been doing ok, and the Collierville defense isnt as good as it usually is. They gave up 48 to White Station, and 20 something to Kirby, and 400 rushing yards to Cordova.
  21. I would agree with GWave. The Houston Mustangs should be at least 10th, they did beat Bolton, and they lost to white station by 7, although there were a few questionable calls, and the Mustangs spotted the Spartans 21 points in the first half. No one gives West Tennessee Teams any credit. I think also at this time last year, Germantown wasnt all hyped up, and they won it all. It should be an interesting next couple of weeks.
  22. Hey gtowngrad04, I think the Houston Mustangs own the city of Germantown.
  23. Zach Miller for Houston High School hit a 51 yard field goal with just under 3 minutes left to put the Mustangs on top of Germantown, 15-14
  24. The Houston Mustangs out of Germantown are a very good team. They have already played their stiffest competition (Bolton, and White Station) but they still have 5 crucial region games left. I think they will win out, and be the best team in 5A in West Tennessee. But as to who will be left out of the playoffs from 8-5A? I think it will be Germantown, but your guess is as good as mine. WSHS beat Houston, Cville beat WSHS, Whitehaven beat Germantown, and Germantown plays Houston this friday. I think that the door is wide open for whoever wants it the most. I would also have to say that the biggest dissapointment is that 7-5A gets four teams into the playoffs, when they should only get 3 and 8-5A should get 5. The teams in 7-5A are Bolton, Millington, Bartlett, Overton, and Cordova. Houston has beaten all 5.(Millington in the Jamboree)
