Dont know if TC will be back on top again next year, I heard FCS expanded there recruiting area with all the success over the past few years! LOL!

There is no way i could pick a greatest, i have enjoyed just about every football movie i have ever seen! For the record, i thought ESPN did a great job with The Junction Boys! I personally own The Program and have watched it several times! I could rattle on and on about the best, but i cant pick one best movie!

No one to take up for RBS? Have you read the Gordonsville-Monterey thread? If so you will see that I have already put one person in their place and prepared to defend my alma mater again! But i mean you have to give credit where credit is due, and if credit is due to FCS for beating RBS by 54 then you have to give it too them and if RBS dont want to see people putting them down for getting beat 54-0, then they should step up and not give up 54 points to another team? The only way to shut people up is by doing it on the field, you cant stop people from talking by getting on here and requesting a thread be closed because you dont want to see people give there prediction on a game! Now, in saying that, if RBS does decide to step up and keep this game fairly close, then there will be alot of people on here praising them and you wouldnt want that thread closed would you? See, exactly what i was saying, we are just like they Cubs, because we will be back next year to win it all! I will have to say, that the Cubs have about as good of shot of winning the world series (in the next 20 years) as RBS does of winning a state title! We have so much in common including the fact that neither team has won a title in my life time and prolly yours either unless you are hetting up in your 90's? Lets break down this post sentence by sentence and see who the idiot is? Sentence #1-Show me somewhere i have called out a team or an individual and called them a loser or put them down in anyways(besides you after defending my alma mater) and i will show you a liar! Sentence #2-here is an exact quote from a post you just made yesterday."You must be from where swanson is from RBS. I really dont care if you are nice or not, that doesnt matter to me, but you sure could use alittle more class! Messing with you? Who is messing with you? This is a great post, because this is really what its all about, but this winning tradition that you talk about is the winning attitudes at both schools, not the winning games! No one should ever accept losing as a good thing, because it isnt a good thing, but sometimes, the other team was just plain out a better team and at that point you have to accept the lose and prepare yourself better for the next time you play them! wtaylor, either that coach said it backwards or you typed it backwards, because how are you gonna have fun when you are playing the game if you have not won yet? The way it is said, is that, "if you play and have fun first, winning will take care of itself". I have never ever seen a team that wasnt having fun win a game! This is High School Fottball, these kids are not playing for money or even their education, they are playing for pride, for themselves, and their community! It is still suppose to be fun at this level and winning is fun but your not gonna win if your not having fun first! In all honesty, how can you answer that? I mean for crying out loud RBS is just like the Chicago Cubs, we are the lovable losers, everyone in the state is pulling for RBS to win as long as RBS is not playing there team! I am proud of RBS and those boys that go out and play every friday night even though everybody and i dont mean 99% of people, i mean 100% of people are saying they will lose! RBS football needs a major overhauling, including the attitude of the football program, which needs a winners mentality installed into it and also in the hallways of the school where some of the better athletes hang out! Taking nothing away from the players that do go out there and play, because they show alot of heart! I know for a fact, that every year RBS doesnt have the worst talent in sports, because some of our other program are good and some are real good, they just need to get thoughs athletes on the field and then this school should be able to put together a winning season! How can you expect to win football games when every season you only field between 15-20 players? The starting 11 could be all-state and you are still going to lose some because football is a very tiring sport and it is hard to keep you engine running the whole game, even Barry Sanders had to have a breather every now and again and he only played on offense and most of these kids are having to suit up and play offense, defense, and special teams! When you dont have enough players to play a full contact scrimmage in practice, how do you prepare for the game? Well as it may be, I hope you are right and RBS does pull the upset, because it would prolly be the biggest upset ever in the state, but will it happen? I'll leave that for everyone to answer! You maybe old friend with Coach Smith, but you dont have the class that he has by coming on here and poking fun at a school's sports program, which consist of kids that are from the ages of 14-18!!! This is a real classy post from someone who is suppose to act like an adult on here! And as far as going back to Macon Co. show me where i have accused you of being from anywhere in this fine county, you wont find it because i havent said where you were from and quite frankly with the attitude you pack, i dont really care!! As far as the tradition goes, we are simply stating a fact, tradition means nothing once you step between the lines! If you want to keep calling me out, you go ahead, because you are wasting your time making up things about me, that i havent said! And if you are an old college buddy of Coach Smith, then you should be more mature than to come on a web site and try to poke fun of abunch of teenagers that hit the field every friday night and play there hearts out! I keep on hearing this, TRADITION! What exactly do you mean by too much tradition, G-ville will win, what does tradition have to do with it? NOTHING! I mean, i agree, i think g-ville will win, but what does it have to do with tradition? If tradition won you ball games, Notre Dame and Alabama would not ever lose a football game! If tradition had anything to do with it, Tennessee wouldnt have gotten there buts beaten off by Auburn! If tradition had anything to do with the present performance of a team, why would we even play the season, because based on tradition we would know who is going to win the state title! It is great to have a great tradition at your school, but each and every year, these kids have to work there tails off to keep the winning tradition alive, sometimes they do and sometimes they dont, but they dont win or lose a ball game based on tradition, they win or lose based on their execution! So please, give us all a break on the TRADITION stuff, because sure you may have a rich tradition in football in the past, but that dont mean nothing this season!!! Good Luck To All!!!!!

I'll tell you what buddy(scrambler), this is a Lafayette and TC thread, but the convo got brought up about RBS, so if you dont like it, dont read it! Is that easy enough to understand? This must be one of the whiners and crybabies, I was talking about!!!!!! About football huh???? Well since you ask!!!!!! I will be pulling for Lafayette, but they will take there second major spanking of the year(first was by portland) from TC, 38-6

As far as the consolidation goes, when i was in school, i wanted to graduate from RBS, because thats all i had ever known, but if they wanted to consolidate now, i could understand! But if that were to happen, i think they need to build a new high school between RBS and Lafayette, big enough to accomadate the current enrollment and future enrollment as this county is growing and they would have to come up with a new nickname!!!!! As far as Prock goes, I dare say we are the only two that doesnt like him running our school systems, in fact I know we are not!!!! As far as Lafayette's sports programs, I am pulling for them as long as they are not playing the big red dawgs!!!! And if the two schools eventually do consolidate, i think you will see high school sports in this county alot more competitive each and every year and in every sport! Good Luck To All!!!!!

Hey Kitty kat, swanson was just defending his team after a bone headed comment by rocking chair! I will tell you right now, and i said this on another board, i know alot of people from Lafayette and they have some of the finest people in the world, but they also have some of the biggest whiners and crybabies in the world, that think they should get there way with everything and if they get beat by 50 points, its not because the other team was better, it was because the officials, but in saying that i will also say, that the fine people outnumber the whiner, thank goodness!!! As far as rocking chairs comment go, RBS does not have a good football team, we never have and we have never claimed to have! Lafayette put together a good run last season and was very impressive and i am proud of them for that, but that doesnt mean that Lafayette has a football Tradition now! So apparently, you wouldnt know anything about tradition either!!!!! As far as hud20 comments go, the fact is you maybe right, but you want em to tell you what the real shame is? Some of you guys think you are some much better athletes than some of these kids over here at RBS, just because you go to a bigger school and i am here to tell you right now, that there are some kids over here in the past few years, that could have went to lafayette and took some starting positions away from some of you guys! And another thing that is a shame, is the fact that Lafayette's man(prock) fired one of the better basketball coaches in this area, because he couldnt compete with RBS, because he didnt have the athletes that RBS had! Yes, I now, he was fired because he just wasnt getting the job done, but anyone that knows Prock also knows that not being able to beat RBS had alot to do with it!!!! Good Luck To All!!!!!!

Dont understand why people from Smith Co. are on a Monterey vs FCS thread anyways, but hey thats there right! However, I do get on here and read alot and on almost every thread I read, they are trying to bad mouth someone! No disrespect to Smith Co. Football, but you guys are not that great yourself, sure your 5-0, but the combine record of the teams you have beaten is 10-15 and you can look for yourself, all those 10 wins didnt come against what i would call impressive teams! What is funny is that you guys think that just because Monterey and FCS are a class below you, that neither of them could beat you and all i have to say to that is that in my opinion, if Smith Co. played FCS, they would get there butts handed to them! I mean look, dont you think that FCS is at least 16 points better than Gordonsville?(no disrespect to a young g-ville team) And dont you think that FCS is alot more than 6 points better than Upperman? C'mon, Monterey might not be as good as FCS, but they are 5-0 and Smith Co. is 5-0 and they both earned there records through hard work and determination, so why do you wanna bash on them? What has little ole Monterey done to the bid bad Smith Co.? NOTHING! So is this just to try and start a arguement with someone? I think so! I know you guys like getting the Macon Co. fans stirred up and get them going and I will tell both, if they dont want to hear from you guys they should just ignore you and you would go away, but if they do enjoy the competition of an argument then lets the games continue! One more thing about the Lafayette 1-4 record! The 4 teams that have beat Lafayette have a combined record of 17-3 and the only one of those teams that spanked Lafayette was Portland, but what team in the region has Portland not spanked this season? And the 3 loses those teams have: portland lost to White House, Livingston lost to Smith Co., and Westmoreland lost to Fairview! All three of those teams are some really good competition! I am telling you that just because Lafayette's record is 1-4, doesnt mean there not a pretty decent football team! Just another point I wanted to prove!!!! Good Luck to all!!!

This is true also! But i have a question with these changes going on will Lafayette and Smith Co. still play in the years to come since they are close together and this is starting to become a good rivalry and besides you are aloud to schedule games outside your region? I would love to see these two teams play for years to come with the overall tradition of Smith and the up and coming Lafayette teams! I really believe that the best thing Lafayette has ever done is start a pee-wee league and it is showing now that these kids are starting to filter into the jr high and high school! I know that Lafayette is 1-4, but i can remember when people around here used to argue which team was better, RBS or Lafayette! Lafayette has gotten better by leaps and bounds over the past few years and i believe as long as they hang on to there coach and just keep playing hard they have a bright future! As for my people in RBS, i love the Dawgs, but you cannot win with 15-20 players, you just cant, i dont care if the starting 11 was some of the best in the state, it is just plain hard to win without numbers! But back to Lafayette, I think they can really do some positive things in football for years to come and I would love to see them and Smith play for years to come, because i believe this series would even up a little! I have seen alot of people on here bashing Lafayette(we call them Lafayette not Macon County, because RBS is as much of Macon County as Lafayette is) for there...last year....last year....last year slogan and i have but one thing to say! I am from Red Boiling Springs and if we ever make the playoffs, you guys will hear from me for the rest of my life on here and i wont care how much you diss on me because if we made the playoffs it would be something to brag about! As for the Lafayette fans, i know alot of people from Lafayette and they are some of the finest people in all the world, but in saying that, Lafayette has some of the biggest whiners and crybabies also, but thank god the fine people out number the whiners! Yes, Lafayette is down this year, but i have been to a few games and there is one thing that keeps them in every game and that is there coaching! And what alot of people dont realize is that Lafayette has alot of talent making its way into the high school for the next few years, so i wouldnt say that Lafayette wont be in the playoffs for a few years, because with a good coach and the good talent coming, they got a shot! Who would have thought Lafayette would have done what they did last year? SEE, so you never know whats going to happen year to year! As for Carthage, remember, Lafayette has beat you guys 2 out of the last 3 times you have played!!!!! Man, that kicker from Lafayette still has to give you nightmares!!! Good Luck to all!!!
