  1. I have finally turned against this coaching staff. I really believe that coach Wampler had a great deal to do with the success of last year's team. This team should not have fallen this far, this fast. The Cougars played hard enough to win this game, but I think the play calling cost them the game. There is no reason why they should have went for it on the 4th and 9 when Stiner got sacked and the D-lineman returned it 50 yeards for a TD. Our defense should never have given up 37 points to that pitiful Clinton offense. They won't score that many points in the rest of their games combined. How many times do you have to get burned on a quarterback keeper, before you do something to stop it? FIRE WELLS, BRING BACK WAMPLER!!!!!!!!!
  2. Coach Pebley, you know that Lousy Larry will be lurking somewhere around the stadium Friday night looking for potential recruits. If he doesn't get the pipeline going again, he will be in the soup line very soon.
  3. Hey JC"GETALIFE", what do you think about the Jeff Co. game this Friday night. Oh, I'm sorry they didn't get in, did they? It's funny that the other teams in the region are so weak this year, yet the mighty Patriots are going to be sitting this one out. I have an idea why don't you come up I-75 N and see the Cougars beat Farragut. By the way if we played Jeff Co. again we would win. We had a bad game and your guys played the game of their life that night. The bottom line is the Cougars are 2nd in the region and they deserve respect.
  4. Its good that some people outside of Campbell County are being exposed to VolTimesSportsEditor's work. He and his father have a great column every week. Highly Recommended!
  5. VolTimesSportsEditor, That was an excellent piece you did on the 4 Horsemen. It is very important that these guys get some pressure on DB's QB on Friday. How do you think they match up with DB's O-Line?
  6. Volviking, Don't get me wrong I am behind this team 100%. If people want to transfer then that is there business, but they don't belong on the field celebrating with this team. We all know how much that transfers have hurt this program over the years and I feel very strongly about this. Despite all of the coaching changes, there were many young men who stayed through all of the turmoil and kept this program alive.
  7. Hey Marlow, why don't you do the "real" Cougar fans a favor and go to the Corbin game this Friday. You had no business going on to the field after the Science Hill game. I guarantee that you wouldn't even be at these games if we weren't winning. If former players that stuck it out and suffered through losing seasons want to be on the field then I say more power to them. Personally, I am glad you transferred. You were a decent middle school player that was extremely overrated at the high school level. The Cougar nation has no room for gutless transfers like yourself.
  8. I believe Slover will surprise a lot of people this Friday. DB is obviously going to try to key on Johnson and that will open some things up. Summers really stepped up at Science Hill and I look for another big game from him. I know that DB has a high-powered offense, but our D will be up to the challenge. Look for #92 McCloud to block a punt at some point in the game. If we can keep it close til halftime, the Cougars will pull this one out. KEEP BELIEVING!
  9. I agree with volviking. I have seen every game the last two years and other than last night I don't see much of a drop off by having Slover under center. I believe in this team and I really think they will find a way to get the job done. I really hate that this happened to Brance after he played the game of his life. These guys have the heart to overcome this.
  10. Just got in from the game. What an unbelievable comeback! After being down 28-12, the Cougars never gave up and went on to win 30-28. Brance Stiner played his best game of the season along with Eric Summers. The defense showed a lot of heart in the second half against a very strong Hilltopper offense. Probably the biggest play in the history of CCHS football occured on a 4th and 2 very late in the game in Cougar territory. The defense stuffed the runner. Johnson sealed the win with a great interception. Congrats guys and go beat DB.
