Well it didn't turn out like I hoped it would have. Oh well, all-in-all it was a hard fought tournament and DB gave its best effort. Hopefully DB can rebound and put Bearden away and maybe look to upset a few teams in post-season play. Good luck to all the other teams that came to the tournament this weekend. An important and deciding Big East game for both teams. Dobyns-Bennett(5-1, 2-0) vs. Sevier Co. (6-1, 3-0). With DB coming off an off week looking better, Sevier Co. played a good game against Campbell Co. and looks hungry this year for the Big East title. Thoughts and/or predictions?

Go on all you want and complain how we say we have a chance to win state every year in football. I don't think we said that this year. We actually did have a chance last year but we didn't and we're over it. As for all you current and former South students, EVERY year you all say that "This is the year we are going to beat DB!" Well guess what... you didn't. So get over it and go on with your lives and leave the winning to the mighty indians.

Dobyns-Bennett is definately bringing this one home this year. Ranked about 11th in the state, this looks to be a promising year. But even if the girls suffer a loss or two this weekend it won't be by large margin, probably 1-0, 2-1 type of deal. Daine Karst is going to be big for the tribe this weekend and so is Janine Campbell. Hopefully, Janine will be healthy and ready to go. The Indians are going to need to cut down on mistakes in order for them to win this tourny. Their first game against Blackman on Friday is going to be huge. They are going to need to come out and make a statement and show the rest of the teams that they are for real. I think they will. Good luck to the tribe and to the rest this weekend! Ok JACOB! DB has drastically improved since their second game of the season against South. Not saying that South has not improved as well but don't make an ignorant statement like the one you just made. I'm sure South has improved, everyone does as the season goes along, but South is not on the same level DB. South had their chance this year and they choked. Neither team played a solid game. Of course we will never find out who would win in a rematch, seeing that there isn't going to be one, but DB would most definately win. End of story. Now as for the game that is posted for this thread, South I believe will win. I think that THS will come out with a lot of emotion knowing that they need this win; however, South has a more complete team than THS and should come out as the victor and win by a fairly large margin as long as they minimize their mistakes. But good luck to both teams and I hope that the best team will win. I would go to the game but I've gotta watch my girls take on Blackman at 6:00 at Indian Highlands. I'm gonna have to go with Kyle Hagen from Dobyns-Bennett. He is just outstanding to watch out on the golf course.

I'm going to have to go with the Trojans on this one. Their run game is going to be hard to stop for East. We played West earlier this season in a scrimmage, and the running ability of West is just going to be unstoppable for East. I know there is a lot of bad blood going into this rivalry but lets hope for a good clean game. Good luck to both teams. ------------ "They call me..."

I'm sure all of the other places that people have mentioned are very tough to play at, but you would have to agree with me that J.Fred in Kingsport is a pretty intimidating place to play on Friday nights. And Blankenship Field, I love playing there, great atmosphere. Roll Tribe "They call me..."

This weekend the DB girls soccer team is having their annual fall invitational. With teams such as Farragut, DB, Tullahoma, Oak Ridge, and Blackman, this is going to be a tournament full of talent from some tough teams. Any thoughts on how everyone is going to do? Who is going to be crowned tournament champs in one of the most competitive soccer tournaments in the area? Just looking for some input on how everyone else thinks they are doing. So far they are undefeated (with a couple of ties) and a good win over Beech. Do you think they have a shot at the state title?
