Is the championship game that was scheduled for tomorrow night going to be played after today's games or will it be on Friday?

Any news on how the RBS / Monterey game went tonight?

Any time you have controversy like the deal with the parent in 2003, it can bring even the strongest of teams down. Coach Jones was a good coach and a good inspiration for the team. I'm sure the team had a hard time dealing with all of that (not that they don't have a good coach now). They all seemed to admire and respect him even after he resigned.

Well I'm sorry to hear that HS didn't win both games. I agree - with the sportsmanship at mhs, they did not deserve to win. Bad sportsmanship from players, coaches and parents makes a good team bad in everyone's eyes (except maybe monterey's). No parent should call any player a b*t*h. That parent should have been ejected from the game. Maybe if he acts like that in regionals, the umps (or parents) there will take control. Good luck HS in the regionals.

I don't have a dog in this race either, but I have in the past. Last year a parent from Monterey told one of the girls to slide into my daughter's ankle and take her out of the game. I agree with you. Parents should just cheer for their teams and not make comments about the other team's players. Oh and if I remember correctly, in our game against Monterey last year, the pitcher hit one of our girls at least 4 or 5 times in ONE game. She got an excellent hit the first time up and everytime after that, she was hit by a pitch. If ya want to walk a player, there is another side of the plate besides the one the batter stands on. How unsportsmanshiplike is that.

I'm assuming the game was rained out. Any info?

Well MrPhats, looks to me like (from the score) the pounders played Rhea Co. a pretty good game. Wasn't a run away like a lot of people thought it would be.

Thanks for the info. I usually try to get to at least one Pounder game, and looks like i missed a good one on friday nite. Since i live 2 and 1/2 hours away, i guess i'll just depend on coach t to keep me updated this year. And what is it with everyone talking about a discipline problem with CC. I can't see Coach Jones allowing any of his players to not be disciplined, and still play anyway. Can someone give me some info on what's going on?

Never count the Purple Pounders out of the running. They are a team with great coaches and they never give up. They may have started out not doing so good,but as they showed in the Cleveland game, they keep digging for those wins. I've known coach jones for quite a while and one thing he instills in his players is to never quit. I think beating Cleveland for the first time ever will just pump the pounders up even more for the rest of the season. GO PURPLE POUNDERS thumb

I haven't kept up with the Pounders as much this year, but seems like they have been having a rough time. Glad to hear that they beat Cleveland last night. Way to go Pounders. Keep up the hard work!!
