  1. After reading these wonderful and provocative posts I have to say, if it is true that Bowers only had average athletes that gave above average performances week in and week out due to intensity, discipline and intelligence, then you can bet that Ensworth will most certainly be able to compete with the likes of MBA, BA, MUS, and the rest week in and week out. The superior coaching provided MBA by RB is now at Ensworth. Their results should be the same. norespect I think if you read this entire thread the opinion is that Coach Bowers will be prepared for GC as well. Ensworth could very well be 4-0 after this weekend.
  2. True. True. But we still only lost by seven so there is something there. We have to turn a corner and play consistently on both sides of the ball. This is region play and I think JP2 will come back stronger this week. It is the pass we have to worry about this week more than the run. I hope our secondary is up to the challange. As always, I pick JP2 by 3.
  3. JP2 has a region contest at home with ECS, 2005 State Champions. ECS only beat JP2 by 2 last year in Memphis(). Who takes the win this year?
  4. I actually thought Catinagni did well. The one play that I thought was the turning point was the run up the middle to get a first down. We came up one yard short and then had to punt. Goodpasture had more speed than some of the teams we have already played but I am not sure they had enough speed to stop Golden off of a sweep or some misdirection play. We had no misdirection plays at all but Goodpasture had one that put it away for them. I have many questions about this gameplan but I am sure there is an answer. I thought Coach would have pulled out all the stops to pick up this win but I guess not. Time to move on and pick up a region win against ECS.
  5. I believve BGA will have to stay because of the other sports and Ensworth will want to stay because of their long term plan to play in the highest level in D2.
  6. Great game by Ensworth. I am not surprised by their win. They have a good coach and a great workout regime. They will give teams trouble next year in D2AA.
  7. What about that game? I knew it would be close but with all the talk coming out of BGA about their new coach and how things are looking up I figured they would win this one. Boy was I wrong! It is my understanding that the D2AA schools have until September 11 (Monday) to make a decision. I guess we will find out then. I agree BGA will have something to think about.
  8. I too fell prey to the hype but Ryan will prove their resilience if they can rebound this week. Franklin fans you sure are gracious winners. I am not, first, a Ryan fan so your comments really don't sting like you think they would. Thanks for the information anyway. Good luck this season Rebels.
  9. Congratulations Goodpasture! GP wins 35 - 28. Great game! Your offense beat our defense in the 2nd half. Golden had another outstanding night. 4 Touchdowns and who knows how many other stats.
  10. Great game Franklin. You defeated a good team this week. Do middle tennessee proud and bring home the gold! Father Ryan you guys will bounce back and do well....it was a hard fought game. Go Irish!
  11. Best through all classifications? I am not sure that is a fair question to some schools. The Best in D2AAA this year is MUS, Ryan, and MBA. I would say BA but I still think of their performance against Ravenwood which was not so admirable but BA will improve as they move forward to play D2AAA opponents. D2AA Can't say but I think JP2 falls in the middle of the pack. D2A The best defense might be St George's this year(?). I am not real familiar with them...does DA have a strong defense? PS I think this topic should be in the D2 subforum.
  12. This is an interesting theory or is it more of a fact than I think? A total split would be a mistake for all schools. I agree with g2hiking that we need a board of education or TSSAA with some courage to move us to one D1 instead of a complete split.
  13. Fieldman you must have friends that work for Coacht. Maybe you know Coacht personally! I am impressed. JP2FAN
  14. It is frustrating when your players don't get noticed like you think they should. That player of the week is picked by a Knoxville TV station, right? So it is probably slanted toward the Knoxville market. Just so long as your player gets noticed by the right colleges so he can continue his education it doesn't matter if he gets this weekly award!
  15. Fieldman, It seems because someone has issues with your school they are stupid, ignorant, mentally challenged. I see how it is. You are soooooo open-minded. We all know Old Dad is senile and can't control himself but I really expected a little more from you, fieldman. Yeah you're a nice guy....Thanks for the prayers man! JP2FAN
  16. Ryan has talent but you are wrong. This game will come down to coaching and discipline. Ryan has more of both of those factors than Franklin. Irish 35-20! Go Irish!
  17. You think I am young. You think I am old. You think I am a good person or a bad person. Whatever... I always thought you were a good person and never questioned it. I have other questions however. It is easy on a message board to take statements the wrong way (it's alot like e-mail in that way). E-etiquette dictates that we use careful wording to communicate opinions or ideas (I guess that is why I am so nitpicky about grammar, etc). I am the first to say that I have not always communicated appropriately or without animosity but it seems (this is not a statement of fact, please look at this from my point of view) Ryan fans are above reproach for their backhanded, and sometimes mean, comments about JP2. I have responded in kind but do attempt to do better every time on Coacht. I look forward to an interesting game against Goodpasture; you should tape it. Look for me in the stands probably standing the entire time and cheering the boys on to victory! PS I was never educated, even partially, at Ryan. PPS my2cents I discerned from a previous post that you attended Ryan, my bad. I didn't mean any harm by my statement. I just meant that there is more depth to things. Ryan and JP2 have their good and bad points and we need to be realistic about it.
  18. We can't help it! Heck! I guess it's just dysfunction at its finest. Fieldman just so you know I believe my2cents is a Ryan grad.
  19. Good one! hehehehehe! You really got me there Ole Dad! I guess instead of insulting me you insulted Ryan. Goooood job!
  20. OMG, Please read carefully! I said Irish start 3-0 for the first time in "forever" meaning quite a while, several years, a long time. Again go Irish! I mean it GO IRISH!!! (whew)
  21. I have personally experienced the inadequate education at Ryan right up to a couple of years ago, so it seems your perception of Ryan and my perception of Ryan are different. I am glad you received ( or all of your children received) such an excellent education at Ryan but my experiences were drastically different. I am sorry that you don't like to hear it but I am stating what my individual experiences are/were with Ryan. I can't change what they were. I do wish Ryan well old fieldman and appreciate the fact that you wish the same for JP2. (You're right! I really do like these icons)
  22. SPELLCHECK! Your was used twice.... Your = possession of something, not gramatically correct in this situation. You meant "you're" = a contraction formed from the two words "you" and "are". I wouldn't (see I can do it) say anything but you did it in several posts and in this post twice. I would suggest if you are going to correct grammar/spelling to make sure your (ownership) grammar is correct first. Ryan by as much as they want! Go Irish! I am better, you know it! Go Irish!!!!!!
  23. That's like the pot calling the kettle black! Right? How many times have Ryan fans brought up intelligence or academics as a factor in a game? Why do tuition costs make a difference in the outcome of a game? Analyze your statistics and then tell me why. For years Ryan's catholic and non-catholic tuition rates only differed by $1,000 (Actually I am surprised that Ryan's non-catholic is so high). I could tell you my analysis of the tuition rates and why they differ but this is really about football so I don't want to write a financial analysis of Ryan's or JP2's tuition schedules. It makes no difference in this topic. Thanks for the info MWR. Good Luck against Franklin. I am confident that the Irish will prevail (by a surprisingly large margin).
