  1. Ahh but you're wrong oh great one. Cookeville WAS in the old 7-AAA. The original 7-AAA! And we beat Oakland my senior year thank you!
  2. Didn't suck for us, we loved it! I'm still trying to figure out who it sucked for? Maybe Bradley Central with their long travel times? But their poster on this thread said they like the competition... Didn't suck for Warren County, they went 1-9 and got to go play Maryville in a 1st round playoff game. And I think a big majority of WC folks were glad to have that opportunity. Don't see how it sucked for any of the Rutherford, Williamson, or Wilson county teams. Plus, maybe it has benefited the realignment of the other 5 classes?... Anyway FBfan, good luck in Cookeville next weekend. Beat Catholic & bring that gold ball back to Middle Tennessee!
  3. Ahh ok sorry Red Rebels I thought you were answering the post before. See y'all in Cookeville next week.
  4. So what's your plan again MTF? But wait, don't even tell me if it includes us going back into a region with White County, Cumberland County etc... We want to play WEST, and I don't care if it's the RuCo teams or the WC teams or a mixture of both. You have your assignment, aaaand go!....
  5. We have a lot of long trips too, though nowhere near as long as a few of BC's. Got all of our Freshman games in but 1(Thursday night games) but did get several JV match ups cancelled. Tough to drive 80 miles or more for a JV scrimmage on a Monday night. And I agree, getting these guys the playing time is important.
  6. I wouldn't be opposed to going back to 5 classes, but you're right I don't see that happening at this point. That's why I think the Super 32 may just stay past next year. Don't see em agreeing on a better plan by then.
  7. Why's that? I can't speak for BC but I can for Cookeville, and playing in this region was MUCH MUCH better, light years better, than the region we've been in the last few years. Better for the players, the coaches and the fans. Playing in a region with White County, Stone etc... better than playing the RuCo teams? For who? 6A teams should play in regions with other 6A teams. Not 5A.
  8. I was gonna ask about the number of new schools projected. But if you build 5-6 more schools and the population more than doubles, won't the talent pool be the same? (at least in theory)
  9. Yep I agree 100%. Most people don't like the "Super 32", but I think it was better for Cookeville & Bradley Central in particular.
  10. True. Especially Knoxville. Chattanooga is still annexing a little where available. Yes the 'Boro will continue to annex. Just not to the west, Smyrna has that locked down. But right now they have 120,000 people in about 40 square miles. 2-3x smaller than Knox, Chatt & Clarksville area wise. Talk about packing em in! Good luck to everyone tonight. Whoever wins I hope you come to Cookeville injury free.
  11. Yeah y'all are battling with Clarksville for #5. At this point they are still the fifth largest. But with the growth expected you should pass them. If you grow like as expected, you'll pass both Chattanooga AND Knoxville eventually.
  12. Possibly. I'm hearing 1 guy on the radio every day say they think he'll go to South Carolina.
  13. Decommits left and right since they started kicking around the idea of firing Les Miles. There goes that #1 recruit class. More for the rest of us though. Might as well go ahead and fire him now.
  14. Saw where Colton Blevins just committed to Tech, how'd he do?
  15. Yeah, in every game but Maryville (but who is...)Should have beaten Smyrna with an early two touchdown lead, and beat Riverdale & Siegel by 3 & 4 touchdowns respectively, when everyone was saying we wouldn't beat any of the RuCo teams. I think we proved we belong anyway...
  16. We loved it too. Got to play 4 of the very best teams in the state this year.
  17. Cookeville is in the same boat. Aside from Warren County every other region opponent was at least that far. You guys did have some longer trips than us though. BUT, I'd still rather travel to play the RuCo teams, or Mt Juliet, Lebanon, Wilson Central etc(if we were in Region 3) than go back to the region we were in the past few years. I don't know the answer.
  18. They're not pretenders, but it's hard to see the outcome of this game being much different than the previous ones for the Rebels. Seeing as how Oakland's games against Smyrna, Blackman & even Cookeville were pretty tight. I'd like to see a good game though. Maybe Oakland has something for ya. Good luck to both, hope it's injury free. See one of y'all in Cookeville!
  19. Rutherford County population 300,000 for one...
  20. Hahaha naw I doubt that STARS. Good luck this week brother.
  21. Yep, sure is anytime bro. You're right.
  22. Ok you keep referencing the Raiders, are you referring to the PATRIOTS?... The Oakland Patriots? Haha just another sign that this is not being taken seriously by Maryville fans, just another "Oh Lord what will we do!" post. But it's all good. The Rebels will still roll.
  23. Thank you REBELRON for the first honest assessment of that 1st round game. The Warren County Pioneers didn't have anything to do with the situation they were in, but they came out & played their butts off.
