Lookout Valley defeats Whitwell 3-1 and advances to play Sale Creek in the winners bracket final tomorrow. Whitwell is beating South Pittsburg 10-4 in the bottom of the 6th in an elimination game. The Whitwell-SP winner will take on the Sale Creek-Lookout Valley loser in the losers bracket final tomorrow.

I just read where Grace beat Temple 15-0 and Copper Basin beat Silverdale 11-2. Grace should win this district easily. With Grace already having two losses to Whitwell this season, Whitwell's chances for the sub-state are looking pretty good.

If Whitwell defeats Lookout Valley, then I would say the Lady Tigers have not only an excellent shot at winning the district, but winning the region and advancing to the sub-state as well. Grace Academy from District 5 should meet them in the Region 3 final.

I see from chattanoogan.com that Lookout Valley eliminated CSAS in the play-in game today, while Sale Creek defeated South Pittsburg in a semifinal game. Whitwell will play Lookout Valley tomorrow at 4:30 with the loser playing South Pittsburg immediately after. The Whitwell-LV winner will play Sale Creek on Wednesday at 5.

What is the schedule for this tournament and how does everyone think it will shape up? I would have to say that Whitwell is the front runner.

I am away at college almost 3 hrs away, so don't challenge what kind of brother that I am. I have seen them play while they were growing up, but the game is different for these kids now. I was just wondering what some opinions were of people in the area who can actually watch them play.

With some teams across the state playing Week 0 games, It's High School Football Time in Tennessee! Whitwell and Sequatchie County will open their 2005 slates on Friday night at Tiger Stadium at 7 PM. Last season, Sequatchie County defeated Whitwell 20-12 last season, with the Tigers having two blown scoring chances in the red zone. Whitwell will be looking to extend their playoff streak to 5 consecutive years behind new head coach Phillip Condra. Condra, a former Tiger assistant, takes over the job this season after former head coach Wes Green took over the principal job at Whitwell High School. The Tigers finished the 2004 season with a 5-7 record finishing 3rd in Region 3-1A and reached the second round of the playoffs with a 20-7 win over Monterey. This season Region 3-1A has expanded to 7 teams with the departure of perennial powerhouse Boyd-Buchanan and Silverdale Academy, Tennessee Temple, and Grace Academy coming in. Sequatchie County wound up with a 5-6 record missing the playoffs, but participated in the Upperman Bowl, losing to York Institute 42-20. The Indians will have a new look for their region as well. Boyd-Buchanan moves up into 2A this season, while Meigs, Polk, Tellco make the move to 3A. This game will also feature 2 Murphy Fair Preseason All-State members, one from each squad, Whitwell LB Ryan McGowan (JR) and Sequatchie County lineman Chuck French (SR).

Whitwell lost 7-4 to Lookout Valley in their second meeting. They were up 4-3 going into the bottom of the 6th and made some critical errors.

Whitwell completed their District 6-A campaign with 7-1 record after defeating Sale Creek 3-0 on Monday. This team looks like it has a very good chance at winning the upcoming District 6-A Tournament.

I know that Whitwell is the #1 seed for this tournament, but that is all. Does anyone have a schedule for this tournament and also where it is being played?

A detailed tournament schedule for the whole week would be great.

With two victories yesterday, the Lady Tigers (6-1 District) rebounded from a dissappointing loss to rival Marion County and clinched the #1 seed for the upcoming District 6-A Tournament. They defeated South Pittsburg 17-8 and Chattanooga Christian 2-1. Whitwell only has one senior on this team and nine freshman. It seems to be that things are definitely on the rise for the Lady Tigers.

Anyone know anything about Sweetwater, Kingston, or York?
