  1. Not seeing much about the Devils. My kids have graduated, so I'm not getting any kind of information about the team and individual players. Anyone with general knowledge of the program care to share the outlook of the upcoming season. Maybe who to watch out for this year and what we should expect to see on the field.
  2. COME ON DOGFISH, A 4-6 RECORD DOESNT DESERVE TO MAKE THE PLAYOFFS. JUST LIKE A 6-6 TEAM (VANDY) DIDNT DESERVE A BOWL GAME, AND IM A VANDY FAN. YOU SHOULDNT REWARD MEDIOCRACY. IM NOT BASHING SYCAMORE BECAUSE IF WHITE HOUSE FINISHED 4-6 OR EVEN 5-5 THEY SHOULDNT HAVE MADE IT EITHER. BUT THESE DAYS THEY HAVE SO MANY BOWL GAMES THAT YOU DONT HAVE TO DO MUCH TO GET IT ONE. LOOKS LIKE THE TENNESSEE PLAYOFFS ARE THAT WAY ALSO NOW IF 4-6 TEAMS MADE IT. ACTUALLY, I REMEMBER LAST YEAR SOME TEAMS WITH POOR RECORDS GOT IT. IT SEEMS TO ME TEAMS SHOULD HAVE TO EARN POST SEASON TRIPS. But when you hear the stories of the 2-8 or 3-7 still going, that's not even worth discussing. And there's some teams with winning records that don't really deserve a shot but that's neither here nor there. I'm still waiting for someone to tell me if Porter gave in to #10. If you'll read the post just above your orginal question, you'll see the answer..... Nope, Coach Porter didn't give in and play Greenwade.
  3. If we don't start playing a little more inspired football and quick, I don't know that the Devils will cover the 25 point spread you are predicting. We have to start tackling a lot better, getting our passes down to where the receivers can have a shot at a catch and when the passes are catchable, the receivers have got to make the catch. I know the field condition was horrible last week, but if we don't play any better than we did Friday night, we may be watching the playoffs. Just have to make things work the way we have done them in the past and we'll be fine.
  4. Thanks for the update. Hoping to see a good game tonight on a larger and dryer field than the last time we played Greenbrier. Nasty conditions during our last match.
  5. What was the score of the Clarksville Academy vs Greenbrier game last night? I can't seem to find it anywhere.
  6. After watching station camp last week against the Blue Devils and seeing them barely beat a team that was missing several skilled players, I think Beech will win this game. camp doesn't have any offense. If not for bad snaps on punts by the Devils and setting camp up inside the 10 yard line last week, camp probably doesn't score. I haven't seen Beech play this year, but if they can avoid setting up camp with a short field, I mean really short, they shouldn't have too much trouble with them.
  7. I saw where Greenbrier gave up 28 points to a very predictable Portland offense. Is Greenbrier's defense that suspect? If so, I see huge numbers being posted on the scoreboard.
  8. I believe it was #7 for the panthers that was ejected for unsportmans like conduct. Not sure what he did, but a 30 step-off took place right after the two flags.
  9. White House 1 Gallatin 0 Very nice win for the Lady Devils.
  10. How important to the panthers is the young man that got tossed from the game against White House last Friday night? If I understand correctly, he won't be eligible to play against the bison. I'll be pulling for portland Friday night but I feel station camp will come out on top.
  11. Then I hope you had a good laugh cause that is exactly what I'm saying !!!!!
  12. You heard correct. Apparently they weren't agreeing with the calls being made on the field by the officials and proceeded to mouth about it. I know one panther was ejected from the game. There was extra pushing and shoving after the plays from both teams, but when you mouth at the refs, out comes the hanky.... I figured the game would have a little of that going on, but IMO portland took it to the next level when the score started to get one-sided and it cost them on the field. Not a very classy showing by the boys in purple!!!!
  13. I'm nervous about the upcoming season, but still look forward being in the stands on Friday nights pulling the my Devils.... Like it's already been stated, there isn't the same excitement in the air like there was last year and it's because there are so many uncertainties for this squad. Coach Porter and his staff will get the best out of the boys they put on the field every night and as a fan, that is all you can ask out of the team.
  14. My son told me about his passing the other night and I couldn't believe my ears. While my son played basketball and soccer at White House, I can't remember a handful of games that I didn't see Tim there in the stands supporting the Blue Devils and this was after Tim had graduated. He will be sorely missed in the community as well as here in the CoachT community. His family will be in my thoughts and prayers.
