O we can take the heat, the question is can you?? George I have not heard anything to that affect and I highly doubt that that will happen but who knows. If this were true, the next coach would probably come from the creek. Kenneth Chambers would be a good option for Unaka because of his experience and would probably be a better boys coach than a girls coach. Not to get me wrong, he is an outstanding girls coach. Another great choice would be Aaron Dugger. He is Unaka's all-time scoring leader I believe.

Zaza you aren't completely wrong for a change but things always sort theirselves out in 1A ball. What im trying to say is Cloudland will be bad again and Unaka will be good againand so on and so forth. Its only a matter of time because with the number of students that are in both of these schools it is impossible to have a great team year in and year out. Theses teams are always going to have those down years. Example: Unaka won the conference for 10 straight years in basketball, but now they are struggling. Another is where cloudland was on top in Football for so long, but then they had a bad year and then this past year got back on track. Things run in cycles in this county. I myself do not understand why we all sit on these boards and bash each other like dogs, I mean what is the point? If you feel you need to be supportive of your beloved Highlanders try going to their games and cheering for them, instead of acting like a fool on here.

Well i think the barnburner went down the drain when Unaka came out of the half colder than well water on a late January night. Its hard to win when you cant make a shot for a quarter and a half. I mean Cloudland was playing good D but Unaka was getting good looks just wasn't dropping for them. Dont kid yourselve when you say that Cloudland purposely loses anything, teams around here do not have the talent to not give it their all. Cloudland is in second in the conference right now and UH might not be beat in the conference if they dont beat them on the Roan. I do think Hampton will get it back together again. White is a great coach who will fix their problem.

Well one thing is Unaka started hitting some shots from behind the arc and played not outstanding defense but very tough and physical defense that seemed to give Cloudland some problems a few times throughout the game. I personally didn't think Cloudland played all that bad. Neither team have much of a post presence, but I think Winters kept defenders off the others enough that they got good open looks most of the time. I thought Tolley would be a larger factor in this contest but i wasn't surprised at all with the outcome of this game. Good Job girls and keep it up. GO RANGERS!!!!

Very good point vader. Hampton did need to be brought back down to earth. I wasnt at the game but from what i heard, Cloudland played out of their mind and was schemed just right to beat hampton. Could have just been an off night for the Bulldogs but that is just a excuse. The game at Snavely tomorrow should be a dandy. I think this conference is very tight and will probably go neck and neck till the very end. The Unaka/Cloudland game will be decided by which of the two teams show up. Both have been dominate at times but have both been inconsistent as well. If both teams bring their "A" games we could see something crazy go down like the 6 overtime game of two years ago. Man that was a barnburner!

They have no shooters and their big man cant see to shoot for all the hair in his face. Never know though, wierd things happen come tourney time. They could be world beaters by then but going by what I have saw at Christmas i think a desent Jr. high team could beat them. No I think one of the biggest problems in Carter County is actually how dumb the county is as a whole. Most of the elders of Carter Co. grew up without good educations and they are holding the students and teachers of today back. It seems like they dont care and want our beloved county to stay dumb. A great example of this is the county planning to build a new jail because the convicts are conplaining of the conditions of the current one. Are you kidding me???? Since when is jail suppose to be a luxary??? We would be alot better off if the money was put in the school system for the education of the kids of carter county instead of a bunch of thugs. This is pitiful. Maybe if you would cool down on the redneck cracks something would get done about the real problems of Carter County.

Lord Vader I would have to agree with you on your picks after the big Hampton win against Johnson Co. Cloudland is also a much better team when Stockton is on the floor. Unaka is playing ok at this point but still needs to take their game to another level.

This is a basketball board not a community bashing board. So either get over, under, around it or get the heck off of here. There's no use in us doing this to one around especially when we live in the same county. I know for a fact that outside sports, most the kids from all five schools (Unaka, Hampton, Cloudland, Happy Valley, and Elizabthton) are friends and are embarrassed to see people get on here and do this nonsince.

Just thought id get this started on the boy's thread. 1.) Johnson Co.- Great defence plus smart shooting give them the number one spot this week. Them and Hampton could go either way at ths point. 2.) Hampton- This team is loaded with talent and we will see on tuesday if they are the number 1 team right now. 3.) Unicoi Co.- They also are loaded with talent but took a close lose to Hampton. Look for them to move to the top by the end of the season. 4.) Unaka- Thought about 5th after the North Greene lose but bounced back and beat Cosby so settling at 4 right now. 5.) Elizabethton/Cloudland tie- Two bad team until proved otherwise. 7.) Happy Valley- They have to be have they havent won a game yet.

If you cant take the heat, stay out of the kitchen.

King, my friend, you have got some problems. Who would ever wish something that harsh on anyone, no matter how bad the relationship is? You should be ashamed of yourself. I thought your wife said you can not act like a child anymore, but i guess it is hard to take advice from one.

Unaka and Cloudland have two of the smallest gyms in the state and are both pretty tough two play in.

One reason for there being no seniors or juniors on the varsity from Unaka Elementary is probably because none of them even came out except for Colbaugh and Peters which gave it up to focus on baseball. Don't be mad because your kid isn't getting the playing time you think he deserves. Trust me theres more than likely a reason why he not. Maybe it could be to motivate the kid to work harder in practice. Look at the situation from a coaching standpoint instead of a parents. This may help you see things more clearly.

Estep is is senior this year. He wont be playing for unaka, but he will be playing on saturdays at the next level.

I would just like to say good luck to both teams and congraduations for making it this far. Play hard and leave it all on the field. I know i will on the creek.
