  1. The Mighty Warriors senior class of 2012 just added another state champion to the list. Chattanoogan Jamal Lackey won his 2nd state championship last weekend wrestling for White Knoll HS in South Carolina. I want to say congratulations to all my Mighty Warriors and wish you well wherever life's journey takes you. It was my pleasure to be able to be a part of your lives. All of these seniors listed below banged heads weekly and kept coming back for more. We started at the North River YMCA, moved to Hixon High and then found a home at Red Bank. 2. My oh my - what a banner group of Mighty Warriors all grown up. I remember the day this whole thing got started at the North River Y and young Mr. Hawthorne came up with the name for our club. The most outstanding wrestler trophy still bares his name "THE HAWTHORNE AWARD" Andrew Fite, Jack Boone, Isaiah Hawthorne, Campbell Lewis, Joe Stegall, Logan Sharp, Zac Sharp, Brock Pressley, Blaike Henry, Tyler Montgomery, and Josh Mackey all competing in one gym tomorrow - WOW!!! You guys make me proud to say I know you - b]Long live the Mighty Warriors......PLAYTIME IS OVER!!!! Coach Kevin[/b]
  3. Last night Jamal Lackey won the South Carolina State Championship at 145lbs. for White Knoll High School. He beat an extremely tough kid in the finals from Hillcrest who placed 3rd at the McCallie tournament this year. I wanted to congratulate all the Mighty Warriors on their accomplishments this year at three different state tournaments. There is a long list of fine young men at several different schools that claimed state championships and state medals this year. You cannot begin to imagine how proud I am of all of you. So to my Mighty Warriors at White Knoll HS (SC), Red Bank HS, McCallie, Soddy Daisy HS, Hixson HS, Baylor, Heritage HS (GA), Signal Mountain HS, Notre Dame, and Silverdale Baptist - you are the best of the best and I'm proud of you all for dominating at state once again!!! Coach Kevin
  4. Gentlemen, Most of you will embark on your quest for glory today and others tomorrow. You are no doubt the best of the best and have proven it time and time again. I'm proud to have been able to see you grow over the years and be in your corner. No matter what school you now represent you will always be on the same team as Mighty Warriors. I want you to dominate today and the entire weekend. It's time to shine and bring home the gold men - PLAYTIME IS OVER!!!! Coach Kevin

TJ was attacking and Figaro was playing the edge of the mat. TJ shot in on a double and took him to his back. Kid tried to get outta bounds and TJ pulled him back in and put the "HAMMER" on him. U GOTTA LUV IT!!! Good seeing you guys this past weekend. Seemed like old times. Tim, Daniel, TJ, Chase, Michael, and your whole team - keep up the good work and we'll see ya next year in Chatt.
  6. Beware the Lion who has left the den. He's found a new home and he may be hungry....NO MERCY!!!
  7. Some of you may remember Jamal Lackey, former Mighty Warrior/Loftis wrestler and brother of Soddy Dasiy state runner-up and NHSCA All-American Jarriett Toney. He's now wrestling for White Knoll High School in Columbia, SC and placed 3rd last weekend at the state tournament. He was the only sophomore in a 135lb. weight class that featured all seniors. He defeated 3 of the seniors who had a combined record of 85-12. To all the former Mighty Warriors out there young and old, congratulations on a great season. I'm still watching you from a far and I'm extremely proud of your success.

  10. To all of my MIGHTY MIGHTY WARRIORS.....never give up, never give in, and never forget how hard you trained to get where you are. You will succeed this week no matter what the results say on paper. You are all fine young men and it was a honor to be able to coach you. Now go out there and bring home the hardware baby!!!!! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  11. drtreble - Hmmmm, not sure where you are going with this. I looked at the TSSAA website and checked Red Bank's schedule. They have wrestled every team that is on their schedule. I suspect that the team is Boyd Buc and you have stuck your foot in your mouth. In either case the bottom line is that from what I understand Cleveland called and cancelled the day before a match. The entire team is not injured, they do not have any type of discipline isssues that would keep the whole team from wrestling, and the last time I checked there was not some bubonic plague running through the team either. Doesn't look good on the Cleveland crew to back out of a dual because of bad blood with a team they were not even going to wrestle. Now there is the alternative suggestion - that Cleveland was not ready to face yet another embarrassing loss??? Way to teach the guys good sportsmanship, discipline, respect, and self control
  12. WOW - Much talk about how good Creagan is, no doubt he is a true champion. NOT much talk about Tolbert getting teched by Creagan in the second period in the duals and then dominating him at the state tournament last year and winning the entire match until the third period, losing by 2 points. How many times did Tolbert take him down and let him go????? Check out the replay. NOT much talk about Tolbert being an NHSCA Sophomore National Champion and beating a kid from Iowa in the finals who won Cadet Greco Nationals and placed third in Cadet Freestyle this past summer. NOT much talk about Tolbert being invited to the Walsh Jesuit Ironman in Ohio this year. Has anyone from TN ever wrestled in this tournament?? Bluh, bluh, bluh... TN is loaded with talent. Too many kids to even make a top 10 list. Should be a GREAT year folks!!!
  13. Does anyone know of a Jan. 6th or 13th tournamant that has an opening? Needs to be a one day tournament.
  14. Thank you for all of your concern and all the prayers that were offered on Zach's behalf. The diagnosis on Zach was that he had a bruised spinal cord. He stayed in ICU for two days but was released on Saturday. He is at school today walking and taking his final exams. There is no permanent damage, however he is probably done for the season. The Lord truly blessed us. thumb thumb
