Obviously I missed what happened to your baseball coach. Is he still teaching at the school?

If a football team/school has a lot of great athletes, that sometimes can also mean success in basketball. If a football team plays late into the season, like December then that can cause basketball to start off slow. You can aslo wonder if a football/basketball guy realizes a lot of succeess in football, like state champion then he may decide not to play anything else or at least not right away. That is why I was asking.

I am not denying that I am a cheepo, but I was hoping that someone would answer my question!

I was asking in the football forum because if they are really good enough to win the state or at least play for it, it will possibly have an effect on their basketball teams success. Thats why!

I know you said highly qualified in history. Do you know if it is teaching US, Tn history or geography? I have a friend I will tell about it.

Does anyone know how good Friendships basketball team will be next year? Will they be as good as the football team?

I have heard that Hampton is really good. I have never seen them play. I have seen their basketball team play....I was not impressed. What are their strengths in football?

Nike sponsors camps in basketball but they are in big cities. I haven't heard of one in a small community. Football may be different though.

Did Ridley and Larson come from the same school? When did they transfer to Temple? Is this "beast" that Pasture is talking about comparable to them?

So other than the statement that IOWNYOU is very knowledgeable about the situation, has anyone heard anything else? Did the coach meet with the principal today like he said he wanted to do in the paper last week?

Anything new about the Temple situation? Why the coach was asked to step down? What this means to their football program and thier other teams?

TSSAA rules concerning recruiting and contact are pretty easy to read and understand. The financial aid, scholarship, tuition responsiblility, etc. are also very easy to read and understand. The only ones to pay tuition are the student's family from their own money.....or else it is a violation. If illegal contact or recruitment occurs, then it is a violation. It is pretty plain to me but it happens all too often!

If the assumption here is that all public schools and all private schools are honest and go by the rules.....then that assumption is wrong! There are schools who break the rules recruiting/financially, etc. in both the public and the private. Just because a private school is in D-I does not mean that they do not find "creative" ways to give aid. Just because a public school has a feeder school does not mean that they do not work to get their players from wherever they can. This is not all schools public or private, but there are schools that do this!

I think you mean "ironic" or "satirical" and private schools admit so so athletes but give scholarships to the good ones!

When you say "Open Zone" are you referring to magnet schools or schools that allow students to let out of zone students attend if they pay some type of tuition?

What position does the SC kid play? Quarterback? Where have you seen him play?

Parents who choose to send their children to a school that is a member of the TSSAA are just like the schools that "voluntarily" join the association.......they are agreeing to abide by the rules of that association. That is just the way it is.
