I didn’t see any of that from where I was sitting. And while the THS fans were foaming at the mouth like crazed animals the DB students were sitting there like little choirboys and girls humbly cheering their team on. PLEASE!!!!!!!

If I’m not mistaken BUD … DB turned in their pads TWO WEEKS before THS did!!! I will however agree with you in that Science Hill will dominate basketball for several more years.

Are you talking about the team that just Denied you a victory in Viking Hall AGAIN for the second straight year … the team that has won 4 of the last 5 times DB has played them … THE VIKINGS … YA that’s who I’m with!!!! thumb I don’t know where you come up with such ludicrous stories!! I was at the game last night and I did see one of the THS parents get pretty upset with the referee after he made a call that fouled what we thought at the time was the only player that could help us pull out the win. I also observed a DB fan (a man in his 60s) come clear across to the Vikings side of Viking Hall and have to be physically restrained by his wife as he lunged several times at Shameus (the #1 Viking Fan). She eventually had to usher him out the door. On his way out he challenged anyone in his path to come outside!! TALK ABOUT YOUR REDNECKS!!!! The emotional rollercoaster must have been pretty tough on you guys … getting the lucky squeaker over Science Hill and then getting spanked by the Vikings AGAIN!!!! Two words … ANGER MANAGMENT!!!

For the last time … my comments were directed to the lopsided officiating that I feel other teams traditionally receive when they play in the DB facility that (unfortunately) bares the name of a great individual that obviously impacted many people in his tenure at DB!!!!!! I think it’s very shallow of you and the others that have posted comments that have twisted my words into sounding like I somehow took a personal “shot” at Mr. Van Huss or his legacy. My definition of CLOWN > A person whose posts are LUDICROUS. Cougar scout…… Daniel Boone played a great game. I really can’t think of anything that the Vikings could have done (short of shutting Champaign down) that would have changed the result of the game. Even though it was a good game and Boone only won by 3 points… It’s still a little embarrassing to have lost to a team you know you should have been able to handle. I CAN’T EVEN IMAGINE HOW IT MUST HAVE FELT LIKE TO LOOSE TO EAST BY 16!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In my opinion Mortensen is the most complete college ready player the Arbys has seen in the last two years. And yes that is including the kid from Giles that has committed to Tennessee. I heard #5 from the German team had comparable skills but I didn’t get to see him play.

True that… but can Central make the same statement? I can remember several years when Central was scraping the bottom of the barrel… and if they come up to 3A next year you may be reminded of those years.

Centrals projected enrolment is 1093 students, THS is 1100!! BIG DIFFERENCE HU!!! Here’s some recent stat information for ya. THS has won the AAA District Tournament 2 of the last 3 years (that’s right … beating SHHS and DB), made it to the at least the second round in the AAA Regional Tournament all three years, and even advanced to the first round of the State Tournament in 2002. How’s that for backing it up?!! I have to remind you that SHHS and DB are both 5A schools with enrolment of 1700 plus. Why don’t you just give us credit dude? THS does VERY well with the same draw of talent that the SULLIVANS have!!! Sort of makes you think twice about paying that tuition for your kids when they reach high school age… doesn’t it. thumb

Brock20 I said that I had stats not ancient history. I’m not sure what the Vikings win loss record is against Central from that far back… maybe I could ask my grandfather and see if he remembers!!! There are two things that I can guarantee you. From the 70s till today you can count on you fingers the seasons that the Vikings didn’t finish in the top 4 in the conference. And you have not or will not see the Vikings drop down to the AA division just to win some games … can Central say the same?????? Right of the bat we know the answer to one of those questions. By the way… I never said that THS dominated Central. I said and I repeat…” I’m simply referring to this years teams. This years Central team is not on the same level as this years Science Hill or Tenn High teams!!”.

I’m not sure if it’s true … but I was told that there was an incident between one of the past Central coaches and the Arbys Classic committee several years ago and the result was Central being band from the tournament. I don’t know the details but I think there is some truth in that. Morale of the story … don’t bite the hand that feeds you. I for one would like to see Central back in the Classic.
