  1. Those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it. With that being said.....A history lesson. The last time MPHS was on the road in the quarterfinals was 1991...about the same temp...about the same distance away (Trenton Peabody, eventual state runner up)...same style qb and offense. MP has a chance to win the game win under a minute to go but the qb is forced out of bounds and misses a two point conversion by six inches. It's taking an act of God (literally) to keep me from making the short ride from Nashville up there, and I'll be out of town next week, so I hope Big Red gives me a chance to catch them on Dec 2. Prediction: MP 24 JB 21 #15 kicks one from 24yds out in OT after JBS misses from 28 Either way CONGRATS TO BOTH SMALL SCHOOLS ON MAKING A HUGE SPLASH!!!
  2. FYI at Unionville MT. PLEASANT (71) - Larry Grandberry 11, Dennis 5, Kee Webster 31, Dee Webster 14, Trey Jones 10. UNIONVILLE (48) - Sadler 9, Woodall 7, Andrew Lamb 16, Mullins 5, Zindars 8, Whitehead 3. Mt. Pleasant 13 13 21 24 - 71 Unionville 9 15 12 12 - 48 3-point goals: Mt. Pleasant 2 (D.Webster 2); Unionville 5 (Zindars 2, Mullins, Whitehead, Woodall). Please note: J. Webster is still giving havoc on the grid iron
  3. I am in Nashville (living in the middle of Region 5 land) and I can honestly say that Mt. Pleasant (Region 6 champs) is 4 REAL. They have a Mr. Football candidate that brings havoc on defense. Be on the look out for linebacker Roro Fennessee (that's right, they call him Ro-Ro) to carry this team to the finals (even going over to Jackson and winning a tough one on the road). Although they avg 40+ per game, it's the defense that flat out lays the wood!
  4. Don't under estimate the Tiger run defense against Wooden. Landers got most of his yards in the 1st half when the primary concern was the pass. And if DCA had trouble with the Wayne Co veer, then I'm sure Coach Smith will have the crew (regardless of Theo's health) running counter after counter. It's a shame that either of these teams will have to start b-ball practice this time next week. But, anybody here in Nashville that has been to 'tha Jungle' knows that Mt. Pleasant (team and fans) will be on fire. BOLD PREDICTION: Fenwick will have more rushing yards than Wooden MP 28 DCA 17
  5. And that Mr. Football thing for that Roro guy. Not important, huh? Just make sure that CPA give DCA good directions to "tha jungle" for next week's game.
  6. This will be just like the MP Wayne Co game, except CPA won't completely roll over like Wayne Co did. MP 38 CPA 24
