Anyone on here know what happened at the Hall of Champions classic?

What type of defensive formation does Maryville have? Nickel, 4-3?

Well said. This upcoming game will be the real state championship. I think these two teams could easily handle themselves against West TN teams. Win or lose, it's still good.

Well, Virginia Tech and UT are looking at Mo Whitten and Ivy League schools are looking at Major Canty. QB Marcus Nidiffer is going to University of Kentucky, but thats on a baseball scholarship. Brandon Anderson will probably go to a smaller college since he is only 5'5" 150 pounds.

I was talking about the other guy. He seemed upset when I asked him about Knox Central.

I honestly don't know a lot about the middle school programs, but they are starting to have more youth football leagues in the area. I suppose Vance Middle School has a good program. A few years ago, the county middle school for Sullivan East (Bluff City) had an undefeated team and I guess that helped East this year but that team didn't play Vance.

Is Knox Central really that good? They put on a terrible game against Greeneville.

No I didn't think they were that good when they played against the Vikings. Tennessee High does extremely well against teams they haven't played earlier in the season. Nothing on here can change my mind. They will be playing their "A" game hopefully and it will be a good game.

I think the Vikings went way further then anyone expected. At the beginning of the season all of the talk was focused around East. I went to a scrimmage between THS and Powell Valley Vikings and thats when I knew they were good this year. A loss to Maryville wouldn't be that bad. Because we all would know at least who the second best team in the state would be.

Does Maryville have good 2nd string players?

Coach Stubbs didn't come out directly and say it. According to Mike Musick, radio announcer, he had a conversation with him off air and Stubbs said he would rather face Maryville due to Central having a lot of speed mixed with their huge size. He felt that Maryville was more similar to the Vikings. I also feel that THS does better against teams that pass. One interception would have been ran back for a TD tonigt but he pulled a muscle as he was running back. Still got about 15 yards though.

I'll try to do that. I remember a few years ago I went to a DB and Oak Ridge game and it was pouring down so hard we went into the baseball stands to watch it. About 15 minutes later there came the DB band wanting us to move so all of them could sit down without getting wet. Your home side doesn't those reserved seats do they? I hate those.

That's good. One thing I was worried about tonight was that 3 players were battling the flu today. They came out and played just as good as they have all season.

Maryville isn't that far beyond Knoxville is it? If it is it will be long trip back after the game.

How is that Cade Thompson? I heard he's pretty good.

They don't need to play anyone both ways but I think two or three play both ways sometimes. Zack Morton and Mo Whitten can play both ways.

Normally they rarely pass, but tonight was a different story. 155 yds passing. It may not seem impressive but that was only on 6 completions out of 9 attempts. I think it's good anyway.

I'm not really an expert when it comes to defense but whatever they use it works real well. I know they usually have four on the line. Zack Morton can make some good tackles. Some need to improve on wrapping them up though.

They usually run the Wing T. All the runningbacks are good, it just depends. All of the players are a threat. The ones you think have no talent show you up at some point. I hope Maryville likes to pass the ball.

Yeah that was absolutely crazy. If it wasn't for all the penalties THS would have probably held Eliz. to 3. We need to be penalty free next week.

Someone told me Knox Central was ahead 24-14 at one point. Any thoughts on that?

I was also satisfied with THS's passing in this game against Elizabethton. Never seen that many successful passes all season. Just repeat it next week. Except for all the penalties.

Yeah they have been down. They were down last week for about a whole quarter length of time. They jumped up early in the first half on South to a 16-0 lead, then South came back and scored 17 points. Then, with about six minutes to go in the 4th Quarter Tennesse High scored two late touchdowns and won 31-17. Tennessee normally doesn't worry about homefield advantage. They were calm and collected against East when everyone else was nervous. (Even though that game was at home there were about 6,500 fans there!)
